Overall I like the software. I have experience with multiple software, and this one is the easiest by far.

Pros

Ease of use. Easy to train new staff. Doesn't take a lot of clicks to get what you need done

Cons

bugs in software, runs quite slow most of the time, doesn't work well with other software (Dymo have to use old software because pulse doesn't support the new)

Much better than previously stated but I'm still having to figure things out without support. In fact my recent experience with World Pay and our credit card terminals still has me and the two \[sensitive content hidden\] very upset and concerned that we are being told how we must receive credit card payments and the lack of terminal receipts and end of day balancing. We have lost control of OUR business as it pertains to Credit Cards.

Pros

Client interface and lab functions are still the best and I do like the client communications to some degree.

Cons

Still way too many button clicks in order to get anything done. I don't like that Client Communications, formerly Rapport doesn't go into the Medical Record without intervention. This should be a communication that is easier to put right in the MR.

Overall this has not been a good experience and I would caution anyone from purchasing this software. If it were up to me we would cancel this service and return to Intravet.

Pros

I like that the doctors signature can be saved in the system for rabies certificates. I like that medical records and vaccine history can be shared directly from the system without having to save as PDFs. I like the integration with rapport. I have also enjoyed working with \[sensitive content hidden\] she is kind and helpful.

Cons

There are too many ways to do one thing. I find this to be tedious and harder to learn. The search feature is not functional at all. When looking up clients, patients, or codes- if I am typing in something specific the system should not populate everything containing those letters. Also employees are listed alphabetically by last name but their first name is listed first- why? We continue to find bugs and problems and have to use work arounds and pay close attention to invoices to make sure our clients are not double charged. The invoicing is awful- it should not be this complicated to add and remove items to an invoice. Invoicing in general is too rigid- it should not be hard to return items, refund items and void payments. The billing feature is not great- the bills print out in a format that can not be used in window envelopes which means I have to self address bills. This is time consuming and terrible. Also the finance charges did not show up on the bills- so we have had to write those off as clients pay their bills this cycle. The system is very slow. The layout of just about every single page in the medical record is overwhelming to look at making it really difficult to find items at a glance. The calendar function is not great- You cant look ahead on the schedule without it defaulting back to the current date- If I am looking at appointment dates in October I do not want to be taken back to dates in August. It is simply not user friendly for receptionists and managers.

I've had good tech experiences with my calls and chats. Sometimes, the queue can be a lengthy wait. I feel like techs are multi-tasking with other clinics at the same time. It seems to extend their replies when needing answers. This is my feeling.

Pros

Cloud software program and the ability to process payments in the system. Working with Rapport is really beneficial for client communication.

Cons

Functionality of the program. Administratively: time clock, unable to put in hours for a whole week. I have to wait until end the day before adding vacations, etc. There have been several issues with reports. It is not easy to get what you want. EOD reporting, you have to do it every day or you have to go to the Sales report to get what you need. The ability for it to auto run is absent to my knowledge on my last chat with support a month ago. Too much chasing in this program for items like this administratively. After using it for 6 months, we all struggle with it daily. Muscle memory seems to be challenging. There are multiple issues in Pulse. When I heard it was a combination of Avimark, E-Vet Practice, etc., I was excited that this might be a solid answer to record management systems. Avimark is an amazing, well-run program. I don't see a lot of the functionalities it has in Pulse. I've been surprised that its model might not have been put into play more. Pulse has some catching up to do to get to that level. I understand programming and testing takes time.

It's typically easy to navigate and has multiple ways to do things (which is good and bad)

Cons

The anesthesia form is very unsafe. Different ways of putting in drugs makes it more likely for people to make a calculation error. Allows inventory items to be added (both non-anesthetic drugs AND non-drug items like cones).

Tough to transition from Avimark to Pulse but once you get the hang of it many things are actually easier.

Pros

Refilling prescriptions is much easier, and the price tag option is very nice for quick price comparison.

Cons

Prescription labels had many issues with printing correctly, and learning the system was a challenge it is much easier now, but I would like if there was an easier way to search a patients medical history. Like a search bar where you could find certain words like exam without having to scroll through the whole history.

We switched to Pulse at the beginning of the year and have been very happy with the transition. It has a lot of really neat features that streamline workflow (it has a nice built in speech to text function).

Pros

I love the wide array of functionality and how you can accomplish tasks in many different ways depending on your preferred work flow.

Cons

It can be a little slow at times- but I have found that to be true for all cloud software.

Not good. Especially the financial data in the system and its conversion to Quickbooks

Pros

Reasonably priced, client portal, appointment calender is easy to use. Easy to look up clients or patients. Nice to be able to email invoices.

Cons

Invoicing and balance due on accounts are extremely hard to understand for the practice and for our clients. Covetrus Pulse claims that it transfer financial data to Quickbooks online, but does not do it well. Plenty of mistakes that have to be manually corrected. And no one at Pulse can help you with the Quickbooks portion

Pros

It is a user friendly system that makes scheduling and creating clients easy and fast.

Cons

There aren't enough dog breeds to choose from when creating a profile.

Very good support and training! We switched from Hippo to Pulse and the transition was very smooth.

Pros

Very user friendly and easy to learn! All the steps make sense and follow in a logical fashion.

Cons

The name of pet you are looking at does not automatically fill in when you are viewing them and then make an appointment. Also would love a way to view all 3 clinics that share one database, on one appointment screen.

Excellent project manager and technical support staff, always there to answer questions.

Pros

Very intuitive and easy to use. You have multiple ways to do a certain process and multiple ways to search for information. The quick access buttons are amazing and within reach at all times. The fact that is Cloud based was very helpful to avoid overload of our servers.

Cons

The transition from Impromed to Pulse was not easy. There were many pieces that didn't migrate at all and needed to be entered manually. Many files didn't transfer at all and we had to keep on checking Imrpomed to find them.

Over all it's been frustrating. There are several request we have put in over the years that would make our experience easier, but they have not been full filled yet.

Pros

The medical record is easy to navigate. The general information and the "by group" sections make things easy to find.

Cons

There is a lot of different areas that need to be "clicked" When navigating through an MR which is frustrating. The different forms that covetrus has built in the system are not linked to inventory, which means we need to add used inventory items as line items to the MR, vs just adding it to the forms. For example if Ketamine is used during an anesthetic procedure we would enter it in the anesthetic form and as an line item in the MR to account for it in inventory. Response to requests in the past has been quicker than it is currently. There is no streight forward way to enter orders unless the order was placed using the Pulse ordering platform.

I didn't think I could hate a software more than Impromed, and yet here we are

Pros

The ease of entering a new client "on the fly" when scheduling an appointment.

Cons

"Active" patients are not actually "active" from tab to tab. You cannot view patient information or history or simple vitals from the note page. You can't even cut and paste an appointment from one day to another. You cannot have multiple Pulse tabs open at the same time in order to view all the information you need at once. Inactive patients cannot be found with the basic search function, yet deceased pets cannot be hidden from client's active account.

I would not use it again. I would look for a more friendly service.

Pros

Cloud-based and reasonably simple to learn.

Cons

Very Glitchy, Customer service is often next to useless. We are not in compliance with Lizzie's law because of the inability to download a pdf into a template that can be attached to invoice items. I have reached out multiple times and get the same lame response... "We don't offer that at this time" or something to that effect.

I'm satisfied overall and find Pulse easy to use. The original person who set up the system entered vaccines in incorrectly and it has caused us a mess with reminders but that is on us and customer service has been very helpful. I wish the anesthesia monitoring and exam forms allowed for entering letters/text as well as numbers in certain areas. Example: being able to put in UTO, DNO, seconds, etc. I have yet to deep dive into templates, though, so I'm not sure if it is user error or setup. Again, customer service is excellent.

Pros

Easy to use and learn, instant access to chat and troubleshooting, great customer service.

Cons

Exam and anesthesia monitoring templates

Overall we are happy, things could be better but all things considered its a decent and very user friendly program. We have been with the program for 6 years and have watched things improve and things not go as well, but we do enjoy the program so we stick with it.

Cloud based, very user friendly for everyone.

Cons

"If it aint broke, don't fix it" - I feel at times "updates" or "fixes" are not needed and it ends up not really helping us, making things more challenging as we learn the new updates that took place. Things that truly would helps us this last 6 years, have never even be addressed.

We switched to Pulse about a year ago. We are happy we made the switch from Hippo Manager which was terrible.

Pros

User friendly and extremely thorough. Many different ways to find sections of the software.

Cons

Cannot think of anything at this time. Maybe that once in a while they update the Task feature only to need to be updated again to work properly

Very easy to use, which makes it easier to train new employees quickly. Support is GREAT; fast and very knowledgeable.

Cons

Reminders system is not streamlined; there is no drop-down menu & employees can put whatever they want when inputting reminders.
