### "github's version control and user-friendly interface"

October 1, 2023

5.0

easy to understand and has a really big communities with so many projects to look at and learn from the software may be to big and require a lot of time to learn but it's very important for the overall work of developers

Pros

\*teamwork and collaboration making coding experience much better and faster during development\*version control to minimize bugs and errors for users during updates that happens in production\*userfriendly interface and most importantly can integrate with other applications such as visual studio code, jira, jenkins making the CI,CD Process seamless and automated

Cons

\*learning github may require a lot of work and time\*sometimes some team members may work on the "main" repository making changes they are not suppossed to make of which it could cause severe issues for the organization "making a smart notification that notifies the developer that the code he is changing may cause severe outcomes is a good idea"

### "Using GitHub for Innovative Web Development"

March 10, 2024

4.0

My overall experience with GitHub has been highly positive. It has become an essential tool for Prisma, allowing us to maintain high standards of code integrity and collaboration among our development team.

Pros

What I appreciate most about GitHub is its robust ecosystem for collaboration and version control. As the owner of Prisma, a web development agency, the platform's intuitive interface and extensive repository management capabilities have been instrumental in streamlining our workflows. The ability to review code, manage projects, and collaborate on software development projects in real-time has significantly enhanced our productivity and quality of output. GitHub's integration with various development tools and its strong community support are invaluable for staying at the forefront of web technology trends.

Cons

While GitHub offers an extensive range of features, its learning curve can be steep for newcomers, particularly for those not familiar with Git commands or version control concepts. This aspect can slow down the initial adoption and integration into a team's workflow. Additionally, for private repositories and advanced features, the cost can escalate quickly for smaller agencies or individual developers, making it less accessible for those with limited budgets.

### "My scripting corner"

November 14, 2023

5.0

Working with GitHub is very pleasant at this stage. Developed projects are reported on an ongoing basis and developed in the right direction. GitHub currently provides very good AI tools for working on code for less experienced people, which is especially useful in my case.

Pros

I really like the opportunity to work on a project with the involvement of more people. This makes it very easy to communicate and exchange current experiences while creating code. Additionally, GitHub contains a huge amount of open-source code that can be used in commercial projects. I'm also very excited about AI innovations that make it possible to generate ready-made code.

Cons

When working with GitHub, I had negative experiences only when configuring and creating new dashboards. It was difficult for me to find the options and solutions I was looking for in the interface. I needed a lot of help to start working with GitHub on my own, but it was worth it.

### "Github is the standard that all others measure against."

April 8, 2024

5.0

Couldn't live without it. For personal projects I have tried some other version management tools, but I always come back to github.

Pros

Cost is low, for small projects it is free. You need version management, and this just works. If you want more you can go deeper into actions and CI.

Cons

Github actions can take a bit to get setup. If you are running CI and making lots of commits you might want to turn it off, or only turn it on for PRs.

### "Github - The Go-To Source Control Management System For Serious Devs"

April 23, 2024

5.0

Pros

Github is the "glue" that holds my entire DevOops flow together. It's solid as a rock and offers endless integrations that make it possible to connect Github upstream and downstream in local and remote development flows. I can't recommend the platform highly enough.

Cons

Overall, I think highly of the platform. I was not wild about the Microsoft buy-out, but I have not identified any impact to the availability or functionality to the platform since the acquisition that would give me cause to criticize the new leadership team.

### "The best VCS"

May 30, 2023

5.0

GitHub's powerful version control system, built on Git, is one of its standout features. It allows developers to easily track changes, manage branches, and merge code with confidence. The ability to revert to previous versions or create separate branches for experimental work is invaluable, ensuring a safe and efficient development process. Will recommend it to all.

Pros

GitHub provides an exceptional environment for collaboration among developers. Its intuitive interface allows for seamless communication, issue tracking, and pull request management. With features like code reviews, team discussions, and project boards, it fosters a collaborative spirit and enables developers to work together effectively.

Cons

While GitHub is a powerful platform, it can be overwhelming for newcomers, especially those unfamiliar with version control systems. The concepts of branches, pull requests, and forking may require a learning curve, which might discourage some beginners. More comprehensive documentation and guided tutorials could help mitigate this issue.

March 26, 2024

5.0

Overall fantastic, but with a few recommendations for use: leverage GitHub with IDEs like VSCode for seamless integration. This simplifies access control issues through IDE management and streamlines the process of saving to local repo and pushing to central repo.

Pros

Industry-leading software product management. Excellent code repository system. Safe core development maintenance. Efficient distribution of work through forking. Easy merging of contributions. Robust version control with detailed history.

Cons

Specifically on command line, Challenges in setting up local repositories from the central repo. Issues with the access control system. Complications with key generation and management

Pros

I like that GitHub allows multiple people on a team to work collaboratively together when doing coding development. I enjoy the friendly user interface and it makes collaborative coding work organized.

### "GitHub is one of the tools you just need"

March 19, 2024

Works great, high quality and never loose any work. Check in often in busy collaborative environments, otherwise use the merge tools, no biggie.

Pros

It works. Fast and on Mac OS, Windows and Linux. Integrated nicely into both Visual Studio Code (PC, Mac) and Visual Studio (PC). Code compare. Merge. No problems.

Cons

It starts to eat disk space and 50Gbyte gone the other day. Some more integrated cleaning would be great.

### "The best online hosting solution for your git repositories . "

August 10, 2022

5.0

I am really happy that someone created this simple and powerful tool for everyone's use. Me and my organization use GitHub in a daily basis and we are really love GitHub.

Pros

First of all I love the fact how beginner friendly GitHub is. When I started using GitHub, I immediately got used to it. The commands are pretty simple and straightforward. You can easily create multiple repositories without paying a penny.

Cons

I don't really like complaining about a software that provides such great feature without any fee but there are some downsides as well, for example sometimes the pull requests fail if the user doesn't have a decent internet speed, the same goes for push.

### "Simply indispensable. Github is where developers live. "

January 23, 2024

5.0

I couldn't live without Github. As a developer, I spend 50%+ of my day interacting with their tooling and it makes my day-to-day so much easier than any other tooling I've used. There is very little functionality locked behind a paywall, whether you're a small business or a solo developer, you get an awful lot of runway out of the free tier, you may even never have to enter the paid tier. Their ecosystem is vast, and they keep bringing out new tooling like Dependabot, Github Actions, Github CoPilot and more that just keep on making my life better.

Pros

Github makes it incredibly easy to perform all the daily tasks I need to do as a developer. The quality of life on Github vs any other version-control platform I've ever used is second to none.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything, I use Github for every line of code I've ever written and interact with it daily and I can't think of a single gripe off the top of my head. If there's a con, it's so minor that I doesn't even register.

### "La mia esperienza con GitHub"

March 25, 2024

5.0

Reason for choosing GitHub

### "Best source code management tool"

November 2, 2022

4.0

GitHub makes my life easier, I can easily clone the repo, make the changes and commit the changes without any dependency of team members. Earlier I used to ping or tap my team members to submit their code but now there is no such hassle. Also GitHub provides CI features, using GitHub actions we can write workflows which can do continuous integrations for us, GitHub is a complete package which almost removes the dependency of third party services for CI/CD. You can create tonnes of private repositories free of cost and can do practice. GitHub provides one more feature that is secrets, if you don't want to expose your credentials in code then you can replace those credentials with github secrets in this way GitHub provides privacy and security of code. Push, pull ,fork, commit is pretty easy in GitHub. If you want to take review from your colleagues or leader then you just need to create pull request and put them as reviewer and ask them to review, approve and merge the pull request. GitHub is a remarkable code hosting application.

Pros

The best thing which I like is GitHub.io which allows users to deploy their application, also GitHub provides lot of documentation which helps alot to learn more about GitHub. It is distributed version control system one can easily host their ode on GitHub. In one sentence I can say GitHub provides all the essential features needed for code development.

Cons

GitHub is not as easy to learn, sometimes it's confusing for freshers, also the GitHub UI is not much used friendly and I can't see changes in its UI from past couple of years, that's the only thing which can be improved.

### "Great tool platform that help people share Software and Project"

March 10, 2022

4.0

Github is one of the good chose tool for sharing my software project in order to keep everything seclude and customizable from Git source control to Github page that allow you to share documentation for end users. I really like to use this software because I can save the product I'm building and at the same time I could create release package for end users and organization that need it, not only that I could automate almost if not all of the step of the lifecycle of software this without losing security concern because I know GitHub has good quality of the private and enterprise project configuration, this makes a good choose for me. in addition of that I could share Open Source project that let other people to get involve and share.

Pros

\- Share source code in different manner(public, Private). - create Pull Request, Issues. - Protect with Enterprise security. - Continuous Integration. - Continuous Delivery.

Cons

there are a some configuration that require certain knowledge level of expertise on third party protocols like SSH, Yaml.

### "Buy this fantastic product!"

June 14, 2022

5.0

Solved the confusion in the office and allows for instant feedback with colleagues.

Pros

GitHub makes life easy for me and helps to minimize the stress in my ife. It helps me to add thoughts to open source projects. I love how documentation becomes easier due to this fantastic software. In a law firm, I work with lots of documentation. GitHub makes things easy for me because I can file and maintain order easier with the software. With the software, I am able to show my work to my coworkers and my supervisor who is an attorney. Getting instant feedback.

Cons

The only think that concerns me is the security. All with a login are able to view things. It's best to possible just place high valued intellectual property in another private restricted database. This is software is awesome.
