### "Smart choice for Project Management "

March 3, 2026

4.0

Wonderful experience in terms of project management, visual roadmap. It makes team collaboration, brainstorming, and meetings more interactive and organized. The interface is user-friendly, and real-time editing keeps everyone aligned. Overall, it’s a reliable and efficient tool for visual project management.

Pros

Miro offers strong value for money, especially for teams needing a flexible collaborative whiteboard, though larger plans can be pricey. Customer support is responsive with solid documentation, but live help can be slow at peak times. The platform scores high on ease of use, with intuitive drag-and-drop tools and templates that reduce the learning curve. Organizational management features like team spaces and permissions help keep boards structured, while meetings feel more engaging with real-time co-editing and presentation modes. Workflow management integrates well with tools like Jira and Asana, making task tracking smoother. Overall navigation is clean and logical, though very large boards can occasionally feel cluttered.

Cons

It gives the ready made templates for workflows, inbuilt AI features, and endless whiteboard. important is value for money.

### "miro review for pm"

April 6, 2026

5.0

Miro has genuinely changed how our team collaborates, especially working remotely. Before, aligning everyone on ideas or plans meant long email threads or meetings that could've been a document. Now we just open a board and figure things out together in real time. It became one of those tools that you don't realize how much you rely on until you try to work without it. Planning sessions, brainstorming, feedback rounds — it all just lives in Miro now and it makes everything feel a lot less scattered. It's not perfect, but it fits naturally into the way modern teams actually work, and that's honestly what matters most.

Pros

Honestly, Miro just feels like the kind of tool that gets out of your way and lets you think. The canvas is huge, everything is drag and drop, and you never really feel boxed in by the structure of it. What I liked most though is how easy it is to get everyone involved — even people who aren't particularly "visual" types. You send someone a link, they jump in, and within two minutes they're adding sticky notes and moving things around like they've been using it for years. There's almost no learning curve, which is rare for a collaboration tool. The templates are also genuinely useful. Not just filler actual ready-to-go boards for things like retrospectives, brainstorming sessions, or roadmap planning that you can just pick up and run with. It makes remote collaboration feel less like a compromise and more like you're actually in the same room together.

Cons

The one thing that got to me after a while is how heavy it can feel once your boards start filling up. Like, the more content you add, the slower things get especially if you're on a video call at the same time. It's not a dealbreaker but you do notice it. Also, the pricing. It's generous enough to get started, but the moment your team grows or you need some of the more advanced features, you're looking at a jump in cost that feels a bit steep. Feels like some things that should just be included are locked behind higher tiers. And honestly? Sometimes the amount of options and templates can be a little overwhelming. You open it up to do something simple and suddenly you're spending 20 minutes just picking a board layout. First world problem, I know but still. Nothing that made me want to stop using it, just small friction points that add up over time.

### "Miro is a great way to visualize"

December 2, 2025

3.0

Miro has been great for visualizing things for our customers. We have had some really great meetings due to Miro. When looking at this from a forward looking perspective though, Miro becomes a challenge to data security and data retention.

Pros

Miro can be an awesome tool for visualizing ideas and organizing thoughts. The features and plugins are great and the support from the customer support team has been great as well.

Cons

Once you're in Miro, your data is kind of trapped in the application. There are ways to export but there are size limits on exporting. What makes it more difficult is that there is no way to track the overall size of your board while you're designing it so when it comes time to export, I find myself breaking things into many smaller boards or frames. If we knew this before trying Miro, we probably would have looked into alternatives. Now we feel stuck.

### "Easy to use whiteboarding and charting tool with some administrative limitations"

January 4, 2026

4.0

Miro has been a solid tool overall. It’s easy to use, makes it simple to visualise ideas using templates and drag-and-drop, and it’s great for sharing and collaborating. We’ve used it effectively to scope a CRM build and to map out requirements in a way that’s easy for others to understand. The main downsides are that structured diagrams don’t export in a useful hierarchy, overlapping items can be painful to work with because of the layers, and it would be better if you could add more detail to items without cluttering the board.

Pros

It is very easy to use. The click and drag interface and the templated actions make visualising data and concepts easy. It is also easy to share and collaborate with others. The free licence tier makes it easy for others to join in.

Cons

Though the data in flowcharts and mind maps are in a structured hierarchy, Miro does not export the data in that structure. Especially for csv the data comes out in one column and in the order in which it was added to Miro, which is illogical. Items on the board that cross each other or overlap are difficult to work with as the item you want might be buried behind other items. Miro operates its layers like Powerpoint, which is equally difficult to use. I find myself sending foreground items to the back multiple times to get to the item I want. Miro is only two dimensional. In my mind maps I want to be able to provide more information about an item in the map but the only way to do that is to create another label or postit note. I would love to be able to provide depth to an item where someone could hover and read a description of that item. Also, from an administrators perspective Miro only makes content created by my organisation visible to me in the enterprise tier, which is expensive. I cannot see what my staff are doing in Miro, therefore handing over from one employee to another is very difficult.

Alternatives considered

[draw.io](https://www.capterra.com/p/166985/draw-io/)[Lucidchart](https://www.capterra.com/p/146136/Lucidchart/)

Reason for choosing Miro

Miro is the most user friendly. These other applications are more cumbersome. Though they are cheaper, so you have to weigh that up.

Switched from

[Visio](https://www.capterra.com/p/201133/Visio/)

Visio's interface is quite clunky. They should ditch the offline app and just move to online only and invest time in making the interface more user friendly. That's where Miro is better

### "Miro over 4 years"

April 13, 2026

4.0

It’s a very good tools for collaboration and visual thinking, especially for cross-functional work where you need quick alignment and shared context. While large boards can become messy or slower over time, it’s still extremely effective when used with good structure and a clear purpose.

Pros

It is how quickly it helps teams get aligned—whether it’s brainstorming, mapping flows, or running a workshop, everyone can contribute in real time without needing to be in the same room. I also really like how flexible it is: sticky notes, diagrams, templates, and frames make it easy to turn messy ideas into something structured and shareable.

Cons

As boards get larger, Miro can start to feel a bit heavy—performance can slow down, and it becomes harder to find things unless the board is kept tidy. Also, when multiple people are editing at once, boards can get cluttered quickly, so it takes discipline (or strong templates) to keep things organized and easy to follow

### "The fun yet professional organizational tool"

March 15, 2026

4.0

I’d describe my overall experience as good. It does have it’s disadvantages, such as the limit on dashboards and the small number of free templates, but it also has many advantages that make virtual teamwork easier and faster. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes a very useful and even fun tool!

Pros

What I most enjoyed of Miro is that it turned out really fun and easy to use for making mental maps, flowcharts and diagrams. It helps automatizing the creation of these tools, because it’s a big dashboard without space limits, and you just need to add the elements you want without worrying about the space limit (if it’s going to be too small or too big). It’s also very collaborative, which is something’s that stands out when you got to work with groups of coworkers; it has been a game changer for me and my peers when it comes to teamwork and organizing our works and projects. It feels fun, chill, but professional at the same time. The navigation in the platform is fast and intuitive; you don’t need to type much to find what you want. Talking about the elements, I was thrilled when I saw the variety of cool things (Colorful post-its, arrows, pie charts, bar charts, etc) you can add to make the dashboard more organized and easier to digest. Loved that!

Cons

For the cons, the one that stood out the most for me, is that the free version doesn’t let me create more than 3 dashboards at the same time, because when I need to open many dashboards for the big projects, then I need to use another tool or just try to adjust to the limit it is giving me, and it’s not really comfortable.

### "Versatile and powerful"

March 14, 2026

5.0

I use Miro regularly for workshops, trainings, and brainstorming sessions with clients, and it's become hard to imagine running those formats without it. The flexibility, the depth of features, and the fact that most people already have it in their toolkit makes it a reliable go-to. It's one of the few tools where the visual format actually adds value rather than just adding steps.

Pros

Miro fits naturally into how I work as a freelancer. The visual whiteboard is flexible enough to handle anything from structured workshop flows to open brainstorming sessions. Most clients already know it, which saves a lot of onboarding time. The feature set is deep without feeling overwhelming once you're in it.

Cons

The free plan is limited - you'll likely need a paid tier to get the most out of it for client work.

Pros

Its very good UX, very visually pleasing adn very easy to get started, use and share with others. It's flexible and makes brainstromign easy, interactive and inclusive.

Cons

You have to pay for a lot of the most useful features, which is frustrating. you can only have a small number of boards on the free version.

### "Absolutely brilliant and no going back!"

January 20, 2026

5.0

A wonderful contribution to the world of data and idea visualisation. Easy and accesible for all ages and types of people. Made easier with a desktop and mouse, but equally at home on an iPad. You can spend hours expanding your visualisations with a smile on your face. A joy to use and so useful for teaching, learning and other project visualisation applications

Pros

I absolutely love Miro. It has helped me with teaching tasks, presentation tasks, group collaboration and simply visualising ideas and structures. It is incredibly well designed and thought through. It looks beautiful and is a joy to use. They have very appealing licenses for Universities which makes getting everyone onboard a breeze. Really reccomend for a wide range of uses.

Cons

It is hard to find fault with Miro, but it might simply be that it takes a tiny bit of time and commitment to learn the ropes and become a creative genius. The time is well spent though, as once you master the art of creating engaging designs and presentations it is hard to imagine going back to anything else.

Pros

I like about Miro, the easy way to contribute with other people at the same time about a project and the usefull tools that they provide.

Cons

What I don't like about Miro is that the mobile side doesn´t work well nd crush really easily. Because sometimes the whiteboard is too big, there is extra downloading that makes things hard.

### "Decent diagramming, missing some features, better than Visio"

June 9, 2025

4.0

Overall, good diagramming software. I wish AWS icons/templates were already included. The integration with Jira is good. Price is okay with the starter plan.

Pros

I like the diagramming/whiteboarding functionality. I like being able to share the board. Basic flowchart is good. I like the emphasis on collaboration. Works with Jira.

Cons

I wish the AWS templates were included. It is a pain to upgrade plans for some AWS icons. Lucidchart is better for this part. The fish bone template needs improvement. I wish I could embed timelines into slide decks/presentations. I wish I could use "tab" to add to the mind map.
