Pros

For our legal advocacy nonprofit, NewOrg is the core of our case management process. Its flexibility, user-friendly interface, and comprehensive platform make it possible for us to use one system to manage both case and donor activity. The highly customizable design allows our team to adapt forms, workflows, and reporting tools to match our changing program needs easily. The system supports efficient case and contact coordination with robust reporting features – all in a secure environment.

Cons

No complaints. We've been with this application since we moved from spreadsheet tracking and have found everything we need here.

I appreciate that there is a public facing portal for the people we serve to better access resources and support. This feature will streamline our services. I appreciate the extra effort the implementation team took to create a specific portal for the social workers we partner with outside our organization to also support this process.

Cons

We are still learning the reporting feature and what we can and cannot do on our own. While every request we've made has been met, I'm hoping become a better user of this system with the ability to independently pull information.

The implementation process was significantly easier than I expected. They were able to easily import all of our existing data. The customer support to this point has been better than any experience I have had.

Pros

It easily captures all the data we need in an easy to learn format. The ability to customize reports is near endless. To this point, customer support has been phenomenal. The "bang for your buck" is the best in the business.

Cons

Not everything is 100% customizable. For the cost, this is understandable.

Pros

NewOrg is a great way for our organization to share information across teams. It makes finding the information we need easy and consistent. The customer support team is responsive to our requests, and they work hard to help us develop reports and other components that make our work efficient.

Cons

NewOrg is a little dated in its look, but aesthetics are a small thing in comparison to functionality.

When I first came onboard as Executive Director, the message I received from the Board of Directors was that NewOrg was broken. Not only was it not broken, it has turned out to be even better than I expected. \[sensitive content hidden\] and his support team are reliable and creative and we think of them as part of our work team.

We find that the applications within NewOrg work well and if we need updates, the support team is available to help us get what we need for our non-profit business.

Cons

The only downside for me is the reporting application. I don't find it user-friendly.

A very interesting platform that gives you more access to your data and pages than many modern sites. There are multiple spots that enable you to write raw SQL so you can grab exactly the data you're looking for. And if you want you can make all sorts of patches on pages with a bit of javascript. Chances are that you'll need to spend a good amount of time up front thinking through the design for your workflow - which custom fields go with which types of records. But since you can configure it all on the fly you will only need to reach out to support when you don't know how to accomplish your thing. And their support has always been friendly to me.

Pros

Allows you to create your own custom fields which apply to Customers or to their particular records. You can build any number of reports your own way, changing the column names, ordering, sorting. And for things that are more complex you can drop in a SQL snippet to get exactly the data and format you want.Lets you construct "Print Forms" which can be used for letters, fancier reports, signable PDFs, and more if you know javascript. Has a customer facing portal. Customers have their own set of uploaded files, and can make payments online (PayPal). Roll your own API for pulling data out. Full auditability of who edited which record, what they did, and when.

Cons

Some advanced features require a lot of familiarity with how the site works, up to and including knowing database table and field names.Not much documentation so you'll rely on support or curiosity to fill gaps in your knowledge. Takes a while to understand all the moving parts. Some administrative menus aren't very intuitive. The great ability to customize things means you'll need to spend a fair amount of time customizing.

Hopefully you've seen improvement in the last month or so? If a specific report is still consistently slow, we may be able to optimize it -- let support know which ones you've noticed and we'll take a look. Report names can easily be adjusted we can even add more detailed descriptions and instructions so it's clear what the report is for and how it should be run/used. Overall we have had a very positive experience with NewOrg utilizing it for client profile management. We interface with the system everyday, and we appreciate how much we can categorically organize and store information, which makes generating reports a breeze. We have been able to tailor the system to meet our needs, and we have been satisfied with how much the NewOrg team has continued to customize our system to meet those needs. We know the system is capable of doing more than what we use it for, which goes to show that it is a very well-rounded and capable CRM.

Pros

We have been NewOrg clients for almost 5 years now, and we find that it works tremendously well for the purposes of client management. From providing the customized webform for clients to utilize, to providing a detailed backend for user management of client information, the system has consistently met our needs. The NewOrg team is very receptive to our customization requests, and the system itself is very customizable.

Cons

Because it is so customizable, sometimes the set up process can be a bit clunky. Additionally, the interface looks a little old school, but what I appreciate is that NewOrg spends more time and resources making sure they are meeting their clients needs rather than creating a shiny and gorgeous-looking system with no substance.

At the end of the day – NewOrg is helping us tell our story and bring our data to life. We are on the precipice of being able to capture data for the thousands of community members served by Sierra Community House each year. That is a major accomplishment, and we could not be doing it without NewOrg.

Pros

I won’t lie in saying it has been a heavy lift to get a handle on the complexity of our reports and the data needed to fulfill our grant reporting requirements, but NewOrg has been patient and helpful each step of the way. The hours of time they have dedicated to our teams has been amazing. Our staffing capacity due to responding to COVID in our community has been challenged these past two years … and continues to challenge us. Even with the challenge of merging four organizations into one database, I am more grateful than ever that we made the decision to transition to NewOrg. We receive support from this team that never existed before, and for that I am deeply grateful.

Cons

I wish we could remove some of the stock/template questions in events.

We had many calls with NewOrg prior to purchase, and unlimited customer support was a huge factor. They also seemed to "get" us and our organization's needs.

We use NewOrg to track our prospects, donors, grants, donations and volunteer activities. We also input numerous other types of constituents. The integrated eCommunications module is a key to our success in keeping in contact with all of our constituencies. It is easy to segment groups for reporting or eblasts, and to attach multiple groups to a single constituent record. The ability to add custom fields and have them appear selectively depending upon group assignments is awesome. It helps to have someone tech-savvy for self-driven customizations.

Be patient until you can trust yourself with the system. I personally love the system for the reports we are able to generate. We rely solely on the vendor for any problems. We use this system to keep all of our data pertaining to our program.

I have had a very positive experience throughout implementation, launching and now reporting, building dashboards and utilizing customer support. NewOrg helped us bridge the divide between program implementation needs, funding and contract requirements and building in organizational dreams/learning culture features that we were unable to get from our previous client management system.

Pros

NewOrg has great support and walked us through every step of the implementation process to make sure we were getting what we needed for both front line staff and reporting.

Cons

Moving to a new system is always a challenge for staff and there is a learning curve, but NewOrg set us up with thorough instructions and ongoing real live human support.

They were also able to meet our confidentiality challenges that we face as a multi service organization including domestic violence services which requires specific security requirements between dv and non-dv services/clients.

CiviCore's customer support was slow to respond, at best. Reporting was an ongoing challenge as the reporting feature was not intuitive and we have frequent reporting requirement changes. The system was already in place when I joined the organization, and I was immediately impressed by how well-structured it is from a donor-management perspective. The reporting features are particularly valuable, providing clear, actionable insights into donor lifecycle, engagement levels, and our overall donor pipeline. Whether I’m looking at individual relationships or reviewing aggregate, year-over-year trends, NewOrg makes it easy to understand where we’ve been, where we are, and where the opportunities are. Everything from tracking interactions to monitoring giving history feels integrated and thoughtfully designed for nonprofit work.

It's honestly been really pleasant! A lot of non-profits don't go into database development thinking it will be fun-- we're social workers. :-) Our Engineer, \[sensitive content hidden\], was really thoughtful and deliberate in his recommendations during the development phase. By the end of it, it felt like he had a good understanding our program, both from a data perspective and from a service delivery framework.

Pros

I really appreciated the individualized support that NewOrg gave our organization during the planning phase. Our engineer asked a lot of good questions and even, anticipated potential issues during the development.

Cons

The biggest challenge for us so far is that we aren't able to make certain fields required. Part of this is that our multi-service organization have access to the same questions. While some questions are required for a department, it may not be for another. It would be great if we could somehow find a way to make certain question required based on the department.

Our organization provides direct services and NewOrg has helped us spend more time with our patrons instead of getting bogged down in paperwork. The migration to our platform has also made a real difference for our time-management needs, addressing gaps our office had been struggling with. The price is reasonable, and I appreciate how the platform can be tailored to our organization’s needs. I also value the personal touch throughout the experience, from sales through to support.

Pros

From the start, NewOrg has tailored their platform to meet our organization’s needs. Their support team has been incredibly helpful and accommodating whenever we’ve needed changes, and it genuinely feels like they do it all with a smile. Their response time on support tickets is very quick, and they pay close attention to the details to make sure we’re fully supported.

Cons

The only downside I’ve experienced with using NewOrg is that we weren’t fully aware of all its capabilities. We thought we were using the platform to its fullest, but during an annual review with their staff, we realized it can do much more. In particular, it offers additional support for our end-of-month reports that we hadn’t been taking advantage of.
