I highly recommend both Synergist and Agency Works to any Agency looking to consolidate their systems/data. Working on Synergist is clear and the support team as well as working with Agency Works has been invaluable.

Pros

The benefit of using Synergist is having core, valuable data all in one place. The power of having a single source of truth gives great strength to agencies in making informed choices based on accurate data. Being able to see and access project and client data together. Using it's CRM, creating estimates and invoices, to scheduling resources in one place. Pulling reports based on that combined data and ease agency meetings with live and accurate data is Synergist at it's best! Especially now the system is regularly getting updates, they listen to feedback and strive to make their system as powerful and useful as possible. Improving functionality and UI all the time.

Cons

The current downsides are some restrictions on pulling reports and what you can see within the system versus exporting reports. But I know they're currently working to improve that. The other is that once you're fully utilising the system it can be a little slow sometimes as a SaaS. But that is common amongst these types of systems.

Overall, our experience has been positive when dealing directly with Synergist. In particular, \[sensitive content hidden\] has been supporting PLMR since July, helping us optimise Synergist to its full potential. She is highly knowledgeable and has taken the time to understand our needs, ensuring that we are using the system as effectively as possible. Our work with \[sensitive content hidden\] is continues.

Pros

Once fully understood, Synergist is an effective tool for providing utilisation data for both clients and consultants. We are excited that, once the system is fully implemented, it will enable us to use a range of tracking tools while removing the need for spreadsheets.

Cons

On initial use, the system can feel complex, and dedicated training is essential to ensure it is used to its full potential and aligned with our business needs.

Synergist has become more than just a project management system for us - it helps us to tie everything together for our delivery and financial performance. The Revenue Management tool, in particular, bridges the gap between project delivery and accounting with features that save time and reduce complexity.

Pros

Our agency has been using Synergist as our project management and operations tool for years now, and it has proven to be invaluable in helping us manage not just our projects, but also our financial workflows - especially when it comes to accrued and deferred income through the Revenue Management functionality. The customer support is second to none too!

Cons

Some issues we’ve encountered are related to user experience or scalability, rather than the functionality.

Easy to use, looks good, easy to pick up new features, does everything you need it to, and it's customisable for different people's needs.

Cons

Just the small random glitches/UX issues it's got really since the update - nothing major!

Excellent really. Best system I've used so far.

Pros

How intuative it is, the ease of use, the UI and UX, the reporting/data analytics.

Cons

The resource booking calendar is buggy. The pop up box that comes up when hovering over it is too sensitive and gets in the way of actually booking

The system has a very easy to navigate UX and UI so it doesn't take a long time to train people and the system is generally easy to use. We have been using it since 2019 and are still struggling to find anything that it cannot do! The support team are always on hand to help with any technical questions or more strategic advice on how to use the system in the best way.

Pros

Very detailed and intricate system that captures a lot of information by offering different functionalities and most importantly, all data that is logged can be reported on.

Cons

It takes a while to utilise the various functionalities and you need to invest time to integrate them into your processes as the system has so much to offer. But once everything starts to be used fully, the system becomes an invaluable part of the business.

Agency Works which distributes Synergist within the UK were amazing in the adoption of the system in the company and have been excellent partners going forward to make sure we get the most out of the product. We have been using Synergist for the last 6 years and not once considered looking elsewhere.

Pros

Ease of use and adoption within the business. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want. Integrates with most popular accounting packages.

Cons

Scraping the bottom of the barrel for this as I don't have anything I dislike so going to plump with the look and feel is a bit outdated BUT they are refreshing this at the end of 2024 so quite a mute point.
