### "I cannot recommend Brightpearl enough! "

Pros

I cannot recommend Brightpearl enough! The software has transformed the way we run our organisation. It provides everything we need to operate our eCommerce business effectively and efficiently. Their innovation/product roadmap caters, certainly in our case, to current trends and requirements. We currently use the system to manage our sales channels of 4 separate B2C Bigcommerce websites, 2 eBay stores, 10 Amazon stores (2 subsidiary businesses with 5 EU Amazon stores each) and manual telephone sales. We have 4 channels brands, which is where Brightpearl brands paperwork and emails differently for each company. It all works as one would expect, orders download and are aggregated ready for picking and shipping, inventory is updated across all sales channels, as sales occur and purchase orders are received, and accounting is updated at each point providing a real-time picture in a myriad of dashboards and reports that can be as detailed as needed. Brightpearl support is also excellent with most cases being resolved in less than 4 hours.

Cons

I find very little to dislike about the software. It serves all the needs we currently have and know that there are elements such as automation that will prove to be useful at some point in the future.

We have an overall very positive experience with Brightpearl, our Brightpearl Account Staff, Support Staff and integration partners!

Pros

Brightpearl has been our accounting and source of truth since 2021. We moved to the system from a larger ERP system due to its versatility, accounting capabilities and its ability to connect easily to other systems. We have found that those capabilities are still very useful today and as we change and grow as a company, we find that Brightpearl is able to accommodate those changes fluidly. In addition, Brightpearl allows the user to modify its system to accommodate its own needs through automation and system configuration. Moreover, we have been lucky to have been paired with a really great Account Manager and Technical Support manager who keep our partnership with Brightpearl running smoothly. A bonus is that the same team members have been with us basically since our start! Lastly, there is an ease to customer support as we you can enter a ticket, which is generally answered the same day if not within hours of receipt or you are able to call the service team and get a response immediately.

Cons

We have a few cons but one of them is that as a B2B and B2C seller, we have found that our reporting needs are not always met. A more robust reporting system found within the native integration and without having to connect with another system would be preferable - specifically, low stock reporting and year over year reporting could be more robust!

Again, easy to use so has been an easy transition to using this as our ERP platform. With a lean time with no IT team, it's been a relatively low lift. Working with \[sensitive content hidden\] has been great, and my experience with Arafatul at BSITC has been great as well.

Pros

It's pretty easy to use, overall. It's easy to figure out for a new user, with relatively easy navigation.

Cons

Reporting is hands down the #1 downfall. Some extremely critical reports are missing that I imagine EVERY single company would need. There should be a way to build your own report, based on all fields available within BP. That HAS to be a possibility, especially with AI these days - should mimic the Shopify reporting tool at baseline. BP is also not great for a company where data management has to be extremely streamlined and uniform. Not conducive to a company growing in size where every single detail matters and accuracy is important. It'd also be helpful to have a customer service/support chat, instead of having to submit a ticket for every small question (which then gets lost in my emails). To have access to a chat, I'd get my answers a lot quicker when I need them answered quickly. Automation rules are also complicated and difficult to figure out a lot of times - requires a lot of trial and error, which can cause problems.

Pros

Brightpearl has improved our productivity and efficiency throughout the company. The automations and integrations have streamlined lots of our order processing processes. We have various sales channels and marketplaces we sell on and Brightpearl integrates with them, reducing hugely our labour hours. The integrated accounting system is also a great plus, as it means we do not need a seperate system for this. It makes VAT returns and bank reconciliations really straightforward. It can feel quite expensive, but we definitly feel we get value for money and it pays for itself in efficiency savings.

Cons

I would like a more powerful template builder and a native etsy integration. Would also like a more straightforward 2 factor authentication for security, which I feel is essential for a software like this.

Been very happy with Brightpearl overall. Support is always great and most of the time are able to help us solve any issues we may have. Often recommend the product to theres where we can see they would benefit from this over their existing systems.

Pros

Simple system with good flexibility to setup to meet our needs and workflows. We've been able to move away from multiple systems to one, and streamline many processes saving huge amounts of time and reducing human input and errors. When needed, support is great, and the team at BrightPearl are always a pleasure to speak and deal with.

Cons

Top level reporting could be better. Ability to be able to filter reports more narrowly by custom fields and compare year by year. Reporting on margins would also be nice, again with period comparisons. This data is important to help analysis business performance and where focus may be required.

We've been building integrations and custom tools on top of Brightpearl for clients running their warehouses and multichannel operations (Shopify, eBay,...). The core system is rock-solid and intuitive: inventory, order routing, picking, packing, and shipping work exactly the way high-volume businesses need them to. We like it and we have built multiple tools that complete the native features.

Pros

The API is good and does most of the necessary things. It’s clean, well-documented, and reliable enough for real-time syncs, letting us build custom tools and solid integrations on top of it for our clients.

Cons

Many features available in the GUI are lacking in the API, so you have to come up with clever ways of dealing with it and learn the quirks to overcome them.

Finally, we have been assigned our TAM, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. We had a 30-minute phone call scheduled to go through some issues that end up lasting almost 2 hours. During that call, he brought in other resources to help us understand where our issues are and areas of the software we need to keep an eye on. We have a lot of work ahead of us to get our account back on track, but we finally have someone to guide us on how to fix and prevent the issues.

Pros

Brightpearl is the only software on the market that has truly combined all technology necessities of e-commerce into 1 platform. That includes ERP, CRM, automation, connectors for platforms and other like Shipstation, inventory management like Demand Planner

Cons

The drawback for us and our situation is that when you combine all of the systems into 1 it can be pretty complicated. The reason this is a con is that Brightpearl doesn't have partnerships with 3rd parties that make a living off of implementation and customer success. Instead, Brightpearl manages 100% of the process. Our first 5 months have not been great because we are not proficient at utilizing the software. When we've asked for help they have been simply telling it is a you problem, not the software, but no guidance on what we should be doing. Instead, we just learn to live with the issue because we have nowhere else to go for help since no partners exist. We are supposed to have a TAM, technical account manager, for the first year, but we only had one for the first 3 weeks.

We have been using brightpearl for over 9 years now and it is an easy system to understand and implement. It is robust and most importantly reliable

Pros

Its focus on retail. Having all sales information, product creation, Purchase Orders, process automation and a direct link with an HMRC integrated accounting system makes the running of a retail business seamless.

Cons

Reporting - whilst you can get a large variety of reports, the ability to edit those reports to include specific data points required is not as flexible as I would like. You have to download multiple different reports and manipulate them to get the information required

Brightpearl have been a great addition to our company and have really transformed they way we keep stock and process orders, they have been integral to our growth.

Cons

Brightpearls weakness is definitely reporting and requires further applications such as BI's and Data Lakes to produce thorough reports, Brightpearl do work with other companies that support this reporting but at a further cost.

Very pleasant - the support is fantastic. The system has helped me to access valuable data, this data has allowed the team to make strategic decisions on stock and stock planning

Pros

How easy the product is to use and the ease at which you can extract the data from the suite of reports - I also like how easy it is to connect to third party applications.

Cons

Inability to go into a minus stock figure for OOS products - this increases the number of admin tasks our CS team has to carry out.

### "We couldn't manage our business without Brightpearl"

Pros

Brightpearl has significantly reduced our margin for error by giving us a centralized platform to manage all of our processes. We are a 2 person operations team managing a multi-thousand SKU catalog. Brightpearl's inventory management features have set us up to manage our catalog with ease. We have entirely automated our Order Management process as well. From the time an order is placed to the time and order is fulfilled and posted into Quickbooks, we don't have a single moment of manual intervention. This has saved us so much time and from so many errors. Our onboarding team (\[sensitive content hidden\] ) was AMAZING and set us up with some of the best processes we've ever had.

Cons

Most integrations and add-ons required completely custom development work which was time and resource intensive. We're accustomed to the "Shopify" model with our technology partners that have 1-2 click integrations that you can then customize to meet your business goals.

Brightpearl is a fantastic all in one ERP system that is great for connecting all your eCommerce channels under one roof. They key to any eCommerce growth is being able to automate as much as possible and this is where Brightpearl excels. When we started using Brightpearl back in 2014 we were processing around 100 orders per month. In 2020 we are processing more than 100 orders per day and without Brightpearls automation this would not have been possible.

Pros

Great for automating your eCommerce orders.

Cons

Finance system needs improving for handling offline customer credit accounts.

Overall the experience is very good. With the Automation App, orders are fulfilled direct to the warehouse by-passing customer services, and invoicing is completed automatically at the end of each day.

Pros

Easy to use. Gives a full view of the business with order management, stock and accounting all together in the one product

Cons

Revenue reporting on sales of products sold within bundles. Revenue is attributed to the bundled product and not to the individual product. Therefore manual manipulation of the exported data is needed.

In the jungle of ERP for DTC brands, Brightpearl is the Jaguar, lurking in the shadows. Deadly (aka effective) but with less fanfare than the lions and the tigers. If you're doing multi-channel and need an ERP/WMS/OMS, get a demo!

Pros

Seamless integration for our multiple channels of commerce. Cloud-based, no need for IT staff to maintain. Infrequently goes down. Never gone down at a critical time aka BFCM. Plays nice with Shopify, Amazon, retail, in-house orders.

Cons

Training could be better for rank-and-file staff. Handling of sales tax (in multiple jurisdictions aka Wayfair ruling) could be better.

Pros

Without inventory Planner our stock control would not be anywhere near as good as it is. Whilst it isnt the cherapest on the market we find it extremely useful in planning our activity.

Cons

The price is high but we find the price worth the insights it provides.

We have maxed Brightpearl's abilities, but due to their expansive resources we are looking into their other analytics service to fulfill our requirements.

Bright Pearl gives us an easy way to handle our daily shipments as it is easy for us to collaborate across our different departments and integrate with all of our softwares.

Pros

It gives us the ability to have a total overview of all our shipping activities and makes it easy for us to manage a lot of data. It is also easy for us to collaborate across our different departments and makes our workflow much leaner.

Cons

There is so much valuable data in Bright Pearl, but we are not managing to create our ideal dashbord in the software.

### "Brightpearl Review"

As a business, we have been using Brightpearl for a few years now and have had an incredibly positive experience. On the customer service level - both in person and online - we have had an incredibly effective and personable response rate, especially of recent, which has made our usage a whole lot easier. We have therefore learnt a lot more about our business and its direct Brightpearl relationship, giving us more insight into weaknesses, improvements and areas of strength. High praise to the financial side of Brightpearl as this is easy to use and navigate. We are looking forward to our close working relationship in the future as we are expanding our business and therefore constantly looking to refining our Brightpearl usage.

Pros

Effective software, enabling access of the entire company to view and work as a team to work as a chain from start to finish in different parts of the UK in order to complete the entire part of the supply chain. Therefore leading to effective business management.

Cons

Uninformed from the beginning about certain aspects (not down to Brightpearl directly) and therefore the small team need enlightening and training regarding certain elements that can be so easily taught and answers. Because Brightpearl can do so much, there is just so much to learn that perhaps we are not taking advantage of as a business.

### "A Very Unfortunate Choice"

We used OMX as our ERP for ten years and when Oracle decided to sunset that product, we chose Brightpearl. We prepaid $45,500 for the implementation and one year of service with the agreement that the implementation would be complete before the scheduled end of OMX. Ultimately, Brightpearl never finished the implementation and the project lead told us they could not come on site as agreed. With only days left until Oracle shut down our ERP, we finally cancelled our agreement with Brightpearl and started over again with Oracle NetSuite so that we could continue to run our business. To this day, we have not received a refund of any part of the $28,000 we paid for the first year of service for a software system that was never finished. I did not request refund of the implementation costs.

Pros

We never operated the software as the implementation was not completed.

Cons

Some of the components of the system were not native to Brightpearl requiring the user to log into another system to work . Since the overall system was kludged together from multiple sources, there were some overlaps which lead to confusion for our staff during training. We would have worked this out over time by creating our own procedure manuals, but it was unexpected.

Reason for choosing Brightpearl

We chose Brightpearl over NetSuite because of cost and our concern that NetSuite would require additional tech staff. We did not choose 4PSite because it seemed to offer less than our old OMX ERP which was very sophisticated for its time.

Hi Kathi, Thank you for your feedback. I see where you're coming from in terms of wanting all the apps in one platform. For the overwhelming majority of our offering, this is the case. However with a few exceptions they are broken out into individual areas due to the specificity of those apps: warehousing, demand forecasting, POS etc. We've had some positive customer feedback around this aspect by staff in these business areas as they can focus on their roles without being distracted by functionality not relevant to them day-to-day. Pros

What I like about this software is that it has centralized system, we do not need to log in into several accounts with our partners' channels. This system is more efficient compared to others because it requires less operation from the ordering of goods to supplier up to the delivery to the stores. Our items reach the stores with less lead time. It will really help to reduce/eliminate stock outs and opportunity loss.

Cons

One thing which I think this system needs to improve is about the report/data it generates. We, as an Inventory Analyst, we rely so much to the data that the system is giving us, for us to do our function and data analysis.
