Compliance Manager Used the software for: ### "Capterra" November 19, 2014 4.0 The Osage Nation purchased the eCivis grants software about three years ago. Before eCivis, we maintained our grants using excel spreadsheets and grant documentation was kept with the program and the accounting department. Since having eCivis the Osage Nation has been able to have a centralized data base of all of our grants which is transparent to the Osage Nation Executive Office. It allows the administration to keep up with compliance and program measures. eCivis is on track to have a great software with continued enhancements tailored to the needs of Indian Country. We've submitted 29 grant applications so far in 2014. The Grants Network keeps me informed about upcoming notices of funding availability on a daily basis. Every week I get a list of new and renewed grant opportunities. I can view previously funded applications. I can share grant opportunities with other interested parties. " September 10, 2015 5.0 Really love the access to everything needed to apply for grants including links to the NOFAs, budgets, reviews, pre-award files, grant applications, contact information and suggestions. Your trainings are very useful, well organized and timely as well as your legislative insights. The only negative, which occurs infrequently, is how some grant opportunities are posted late while government websites have had them posted for a while. The reporting and tracking module allows us to better track the progress of grant projects on a county-wide basis and still be able to drill down to details. Several good reports, however they really need to add an actual expenditure to budget variance report for us to fully be able to rely on the reporting and tracking module rather than our separate financial general ledger system. As the designated person in the Fire Department who works on grants, I have found the search agents and other features to be a valuable resource that help me with locating grant opportunities, access to grant applications and grants management tools. I have enjoyed the tutorials and other educational resources and I have made those available to other members of my department to assist with increasing our overall grants knowledge. I utilize eCivis daily in locating law enforcement funding for our agency. Often, I receive valuable training information, as well as updates that may be valuable to my research. I use eCivis as a teaching tool for new Planners coming into our Unit. I have used eCivis for about 10 years and I would be lost without it. Pros eCivis offers an easy to use interface that allows the user to easily search for specific areas and manage/track grants throughout the entire process. They also offer great technical support. It does an exceptional job of collecting grant opportunities and presenting them in an organized way. Cons Sometimes (not often) I receive grants that our organization does not qualify for--e.g., our geographic region isn't served by the grant. Again, this happens only on rare occasion. We have a wide range of technological ability at our organization, and yet everyone is able to navigate and utilize the eCivis network without much problem. Having access to a larger view of our institutions portfolio of grants and funders is the most helpful. Cons Multi document uploads would be better. All pertinent information is accessible by hovering your cursor over the entry...you don't even have to click! I would personally recommend eCivis for any organization that is looking for grants. There is an abundant amount of information that can be searched and narrowed down to our projects. The eCivis system makes it easy to setup projects and have notices sent when a grant come available. The customer support is great. We are constantly being sent tips to improve our outcome and training modules to improve our proficiencies. Used the software for: ### "Polk County Board of County Commissioners" December 1, 2014 5.0 eCivis has taken a very long, tedious and time consuming process and has increased my job efficiency by 100%. eCivis system has great reports and I feel that these reports are very instrumental in tracking and management and strongly encourage you to utilize the reporting systems from the beginning, also eCivis has tasks and reminders which are very efficient in assisting with time management, when writing grants time can get away from us and deadlines can be missed. It's a one stop shop for grant research and tracking. No more searching on numerous sites for grants, it's all on one site provided by eCivis. My favorite is the tracking software. I can generate reports in a matter of seconds and update the status of grants effectively and efficiently. Our representative is very attentive and keeps us up to date on everything. I have been mostly using it for exploring grant possibilities and found it provides a wealth of information. However, sometimes the everyday listing of opportunities presented are not geographically suitable to my region. The comfort of using the program only increases with hands on use. Their team of experienced managers and hardworking grant writers were able to quickly assess and respond to the needs of the Sheriff's Department by providing technical assistance for several of our grant applications. I have a very specific grant application focus ( i.e. foundations seeking to fund transitional housing and support services for individuals recovering from substance use disorders) and I am able to drill down to that specificity with the features that are available with eCivis. The weekly grants list has helped my org identify multiple new funding sources over the years, and the information that the database contains is comprehensive and always up to date. The search capability is good. The customer service is first-rate - responsive, quick and accurate. I enjoyed working with the staff - we would probably stay with eCivis but are moving more into a development, rather than a grant-writing mode, so we are purchasing a product more closely suited to our needs. There are times when the application appears to stall, especially in the My Saved Grants mode. I'm unsure where that problem lies.
