The end-user does well to complete periodic refresher courses to keep abreast of all the features offered by the software. Cons Pricing may be a challenge for smaller organizations. Grants Coordinator Used the software for: ### "eCivis - The One Place to Get Everything for Grants" November 14, 2014 5.0 The system allows me to search by topic and to subscribe so that I get e-mails when my Key Words are mentioned in a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). My primary goal is to search for federal funds. The eCivis system has a tab for the pertaining documents where they have the Federal Register for the NOFA, the applications, and all published information. I don't have to go and search the agency for the information, if it has been published, I can find it on eCivis. There are many private opportunities available. Make sure you have a network in your organization so that your grant person can funnel this information to the appropriate department. Grants are listed by deadline of application submittal, that is very helpful so you can prioritize. The only con that I see on this system is that it lists on-going applications first, I was annoyed by this, but I have learned a lot about those programs too. The system is a great asset if the people using it are willing to read through all of the information, eCivis has it available you just need to go through it, is all there in ONE place. Pros I love that I can easily look up grants and find different types. This is a GREAT service!! I love that it gives you options for foundations, federal and state. Cons I do not like the feature of looking at a grant and having to go back in and out to see certain tabs. Instead of saving a grant, I would like to tag it for interest for later review and if I close out of the grant, it takes me back to the top and I cannot remember what I looked at and didn't in a long list. Pros The weekly reminder emails are helpful to keep us in the know. We use it at least four times yearly. " April 6, 2018 5.0 The software is a great way to find grant opportunities, and to narrow our search for relevant funding opportunities. Pros With so many grant opportunities, it can be a challenge to find every relevant grant to apply for. This software is not only easy to use, it's a streamlined approach to narrowing our search for grants that make sense for our organization. Cons The software can take some time to learn how to use. That said, eCivis offers training, and I found that after only a few hours of playing around with it that I got used to the search process and have appreciated the funding opportunities we've found so far. April 5, 2018 3.0 Pros The filter are easy to use and straight forward. The application is easy to navigate -User friendly. Cons No way to filter by dollar amount. Management only allows for me to partake in grants. Application information is outdated in many grants. The ability to search grants and share them with authorized Personnel is very useful. Pros The ability to search grants is incredible! Its a very refined system that makes grant searching easer then just looking on the web. I would recommend this to any orginization that has limited funds for hiring employees. This software is definitely cheaper than hiring a full-time grant writer. Cons There are not many cons about this software. It's very well refined and easy to use. However, 4 smaller municipalities, institutions, and organizations the software might be too sophisticated. In spite of that, I would still recommend use of the software. Review Source SF Samantha F. April 6, 2018 3.0 Pros I like that the information is straight forward and easy to use. Whenever I reach out for support, I get answers to the questions I had. Additionally, the program is very easy to keep projects organized. Cons When you try to delete a "stage" you have to leave at least one file in there and can't delete it. In order to get the files delete, I have to upload a dummy file to remain in the project report section and it is not relevant to keep it in the file. Review Source LW Lenetta W. Cons Haven't found anything yet as I am just starting to use it. Pros eCivis is easy to use and provides all the relevant information in a clear manner. When colleagues ask me to help them find funding opportunities I give them a quick overview of eCivis so they can find opportunities on their own too. Director of Grant Administration Used the software for: ### "McAllen's Grant Administration Recommends Civis" September 10, 2015 5.0 The City of McAllen's Grant Administration team uses eCivis on a daily basis to research and manage grant projects because it's fast, intuitive and customizable to work with our schedules. eCivis not only presents current and potential grant opportunities but also makes past grants available for research ' a notable resource when some agencies' websites do not publicize this information. eCivis customer service has an outstanding response time as they typically get back to us with answers to our inquiries within the same day, minutes even! eCivis is excellent in that it tracks user activity, which helps us determine our organization's user trends, metrics and grant profile, another great tool for demonstrating its value come budget season. Forward opportunities to all departments in the County" September 10, 2015 4.0 Gives a broad base of information. Great for state, foundation, and corporate grants, which are not easily tracked. For federal grants, grants.gov is sufficient, and eCivis is a redundant system that can catch anything that got by us. The grant opportunities that are forwarded to us each morning are often restricted to other parts of the country. It would be great if the selected opportunities were more appropriate (even if it means sending less each day). Pricing guidelines for the service remain a mystery, and is creating issues with the County Procurement Department. Customer Service is quick, responsive, friendly, and overall fantastic. April 5, 2018 5.0 Pros The roll-out presentation of the funding opportunities are very clear and concise. I like how they are broken out into different categories (ie state, federal, etc). Cons Wish there were more funding opportunities to choose from. Our organization also uses Ecivis for grants, and there seem to be many more funding options throughout the month. I find eCivis is the tool I use literally every day. The NOFA's and past award documentation, key word search, and email alerts are items that benefit any organization. Customer service is responsive and solution-minded and I have found the frequent webinars to be helpful. As a past municipal administrator, I wish I had used eCivis to help counter constantly shrinking budgets and to propagate partnerships and relationships with the city. September 15, 2015 5.0 I have used eCivis for the past five years and because of the excellent service I have turned down multiple offers from other grant research companies to try their product. The weekly grant updates are useful and the details are easy to access when a potential funding match is identified. Customer service is prompt when needed, but the best part is that I have not had much reason to use them -- everything is easily accessible and intuitive to learn.
