I also enjoy getting to know the all the different employees' jobs and functions. They are still small enough to care but large enough to matter. The training resources are top notch and always available when you need them. That level of support makes a big difference. Overall, it’s been a solid tool for running and growing operations efficiently. Pros What I like most is how everything is connected throughout the entire lifecycle of a load. You enter the information once, and it flows seamlessly across dispatch, tracking, and reporting, which makes it much easier to stay organized and efficient. The ability to run reports and have clear visibility into operations is a big advantage, and the integrations really enhance the overall functionality of the system. I have not yet taken advantage of every feature available, but the features I have used have been helpful, and I continue to see more ways the system can improve efficiency as my brokerage grows. I especially like having the ability to manage orders, maintain accurate load information, improve communication and collaboration with agents, and keep operations more organized in one system. I have also found the platform to be a strong value for the features it offers. AscendTMS has a lot of capability, and I believe the more time I spend learning and implementing the system, the more valuable it will become to my business. Pros For sure my account rep. Elwood. He's the greatest. Whatever I may need help with, I know I can always give him a shout and he points me in the right direction. And his response time is very quick. What I like most about AscendTMS is the number of features available in one system. It offers tools for load and order management, tracking, team collaboration, reporting, and overall workflow organization. I can see how, once everything is fully set up and being used consistently, it can make day-to-day operations much easier for both brokers and agents. I also appreciate the value for the money. AscendTMS provides a lot of functionality without feeling like you have to invest in several different systems just to manage your business. The platform also gives me confidence when it comes to organizing load information and keeping data in one place. Cons My biggest challenge has really been taking the time to learn and fully set up all of the available features. There is a lot the system can do, and because of that, there can be a learning curve if you want to take full advantage of everything. This is a great startup TMS, but realistically anyone who does over $1 - $2 mil in rev will outgrow the TMS fast. Pros This software allows you to get up and running fairly quickly, customer service is good when they are open and you can reach someone to talk with. They always seem to be doing updates which is a good thing I suppose. Cons Your always told their doing updates which is a good thing, there is never any type of notice when changes are made, what the changes are that are being made, and if you work on the weekend you can't reach anyone. Today particularly systems are down, been down for over an hour, can't reach a single person for support, help, and prevents you from doing your very basic freight functions. As a business owner, paying hourly employees, independent brokers can't help their clients and customers, this snowballed very quickly and go out of control. Would be nice if we knew what changes were done, when support tells you they will submit a change and get back to you when the change will be done that there was follow through, that you could get support when needed, and have help as the system can be clunky and super temperamental at first. In the last 5 years years we've been down for less than 44 minutes TOTAL. So, I don't think it was AscendTMS that was down, it was likely your Internet connection. Regarding size of our customers, our largest customer is a $9 billion distributor with 360 DC's and 3 separate logistics offices in North America. So, we can definitely support both the biggest logistics operations as well as the smallest operations like yours (hopefully you'll make it to $9 billion one day, too . Pros I like AscendTMS because the software flow is logical. It is rather easy to use after a few times in the system. I would certainly love for our Fleet coalition to utilize this system because it is easy to duplicate, easy to train others but i do wish the pricing was a bit more competitive. Cons The part that I was not in love with is when I had to add customers to the database. I think that portion along with adding drivers/ operators could be simplified. Jayme Konja in particular has been extremely helpful in reaching out just to make sure I am enjoying my experience and always willing to help when I have questions and listen when I have suggestions. Pros AscendTMS is a wonderful product whether your a Freight Broker doing drayage and OTR or a Carrier with assets. Ascend is a one stop shop for all your TMS needs. From tracking loads to billing out loads everything works great in an easy to use manner. Cons The one thing working in this industry is getting carriers to adopt new technology. I find that sending tendered loads via email for some of my more seasoned carriers is a pain. The text with a link feature is great and easy for my guys to use. Also, perhaps adding a feature where the BOL can be signed via phone. The carriers do no have access to printer on the road so as great as it is that AscendTMS generates a BOL it is somewhat useless when a random load comes in and the guys are on the road and are not able to use it. It is easy to use and helps me keep track of my shipment statuses for my customers. I understand there is a section to add in my factoring email addresses into each order, but I am curious to know if I can just add an e-mail once and have it appear on all loads. i.e. my wife takes care of my accounting and instead of going in and adding her onto every account so she is copied, I would like to have her appear by entering her e-mail address once somewhere. If there was an alert or e-mail when a delivery date passes and a status is in transit, that would be helpful as well. There are a few little things here and there, but nothing major that I would change. I am a one man show, and would like to add a user, but me and my wife use the same login, and was wondering if a second user could be added at no cost. Otherwise at the moment this is great value. thanks for being my provider of choice. your team is exceptionally friendly. Bill Nofsinger is a great guy, energetic and a heck of a sales guy. You simplify brokerage software like no other, and I don't know why anyone else hasn't done this before. All the other programs I have used are not only more expensive, but much more complicated. The accounting module has been able to send all AR info to QuickBooks, all of the AP payments we have had to annually record because they released an incomplete module. Have had promise after promise made to us about software releases to only be told oh sorry we have had so many new features being released we haven't had time to work on the existing modules. Really disappointed. Pros Cheap software, a lot of features, easy to use. Cons Development worries about introducing new modules instead of making sure existing ones are working correctly. Extremely easy to use, very affordable and the customer service and support is always exceptional every time that I need it. most recently,\[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] helped me figure out a problem I was having with my accounting side of the system and he was able to not only guide me to what I was doing wrong but showed me a way to deal with my issue that made my life 10X better! 10/10 would recommend this system to anybody in the industry! Pros I love how easy It is to use ascend TMS. I've been in the transportation industry for a few years now and I've used quite a few different TMS/CRM systems; besides being over priced, most are extremely confusing to learn and adapt to. I feel like Ascend TMS is the first system I've ever used that I knew how to operate at least 75% from the moment I started using it. Also I absolutely love how the systems remembers previous information and stores it for future use like customers, locations etc.. Cons Up to now I have zero complaints about the system. It integrates flawlessly with my business. The only thing I think would be a great future feature would be if it had an APP. I believe that would be very useful to companies like mine that are agent-based because as an agent you're using your phone for work probably more than a computer or laptop and although I have signed into the system from my phone when in an emergency, I feel like on an actual app it would perform much better.
