Pros Quick customer service response. Easy to enter payments. Allows for credit card and online payments. Cons Only one email contact per unit allowable which is a problem for our student housing joint leases. Credit card payments have high convenience fees that our tenants don't like. Hard to navigate from a mobile device. I did not have any trouble with the functions I needed to use. The customer service is superb. Cons Overall, there were not enough options with this software system. I would highly recommend this to other property owners as well as property management businesses. Cons If you make an error in the accounting it's a little hard to repair. In fact, I'm incrementally learning more about it every time I'm using it. It creates a perfect report in excel for my accountant. It's a great product. We were struggling with managing just a couple of rental properties on our own and had outsourced to a property management company. That company did a terrible job and forced us to find a solution to be able to handle the job on our own. Rentec was the most affordable solution and seemed to have all of the functionality that we needed as small landlords. Pros An all in one product that handles bookkeeping, tenant screening, communications and electronic rent collection. Cons Needs a better way of bulk editing transactions. Maybe some of this can be done by importing into quickbooks, but seems clunky on the platform.
