Also helps with journals each month and subsequently accounts productions directly from wages control accounts. Pros Payroll processing was very easy to use and efficient. Extremely user friendly and informative every step of the way, ensuring all compliance is covered. Cons It can be somewhat stagnant at times in terms of the lack of colour and user interface. Perhaps an update could be done to combat this. I like how I can reconcile transactions in Xero from my bank feeds and set up recurring bills -- so I do not have to stress / waste time searching through everything and compiling all the docs I need come BAS or EOFY tax time, as everything is in there! I used to use spreadsheets, Xero has saved countless hours and hassles dealing with that. Cons It's mildly annoying that when I started with Xero I was on such a good price - I don't use it for all that much besides what I've said in this review -- and there have been a few price hikes that seem steep, and I'm a bit stuck now because all my data is in here! But... the convenience is worth the price, at the moment. I wonder if they know that they really have people and am a tad worried about future price hikes... Review Source FM Fiona M. I’ve had no problems with integrations or giving access to others. Pros Easy to use and setup with a lot of detailed help documents. The integration with the ATO is super useful and it saves me a lot of time otherwise spent on lodgements. Cons It’s a bit pricey if you want to add fairly simple features on like multi currency or superannuation payments. I was able to set up my company correctly with the guided set up, I did when creating my bank account did not set up properly but was able to easily reverse entries to process correctly through the bank feeds available. That was my mistake completely. Pros Ease of use with the program, I was able to go in with no applicable knowledge and use the program with basic clarity. Cons I have not really found any issues as of yet, and have recommended the program to others over social medias. Sadly though, this wasn't enough for me to stick with Xero and I ended up moving away. Pros Has all the features you would expect from an accounting platform. Cons Clunky to use, interface needs work to be more streamline and to enable you to make less errors. Like many companies, they will send you a template response with whatever they think your issue is when they skim your support request. Frequently, you have to tell them to actually read your message carefully so that they realize you have an unexpected problem and don't need a useless "support article". These guys have also frequently been raising their prices constantly. Banking integrations frequently stop working. Pros Ease of reconciliation, imported transactions from integrations with other platforms (when it works). If you have many users, Xero does NOT bill by the number of users. So, costs may be relatively low for a large organization. Cons Constantly increasing prices, integrations with banks and other accounts don't always work and break fairly frequently. Customer support will frequently try and tell you that they won't help you with your request at all and to "talk to an accountant" even when you're asking them regarding how to do something with their software. If you are a smaller company, the plan pricing is quite expensive, since the minimum plan for a functional business is relatively expensive and they don't care whether you have one user or 100 - they charge the same. Having used most of the other big name competition programs, Xero by far is the most intuitive and allows me to automate a lot of repetitive tasks and keep on top of my financial position. I love the fact that I have have my Accountant looking at the account at the same time as me so we can review things together over the phone or zoom. Pros Xero does everything I need it to and helps me stay in control of my finances as I can see real time data of income and expenses and I always feel in-control. Cons Cost is probably the main thing. The limits on the lowest plan are tight for a freelancer- as I often have more bills than the allocation, but don't need anything else in the next plan up. It didn't have the functionality that I needed in the entry level plans so when it was a choice of upgrading or moving- I chose to move to Xero which I already had experience with and was able to provide all of the elements that I needed. Pros Easy to use for our volunteer-run car club. The two best features for us are: Unlimited Users: This is absolutely essential. We can grant access to the committee without having to share credentials or worry about security. Bank Reconciliation: The automated bank feeds and reconciliation process makes matching hundreds of annual membership renewals easy. The bank downloads are probably one of the best and most underrated features. Cons The UI is a tiny bit clunky--most notably the "check writing/entering" functionality comes to mind.
