No other app can match its capabilities while remaining as beautiful and simple as it is. Pros It is very easy to learn and super powerful while remaining clean. Its aesthetics and animations are gorgeous. It is also the most consistent app I have ever downloaded on the App Store. Cons The repeat function has the guardrail that won't allow you to complete a repeating task early. Cultured Code has promised to review and address this, but no updates have been released that have solved the issue. The user interface and quick entry options are smooth and intuitive. Pros Quick and easy entries while also having enough power features to plan long term projects. The typography is also well done. Cons I wish there was a way to see a whole week of tasks at a time. A forecast view, like OmniFocus would take it over the top. It doesn’t overwhelm you with options, yet it gives just enough structure to help you stay organized. Adding tasks is effortless, and the quick capture feature is a huge plus when ideas or reminders pop into your head on the fly. Pros What I like most about Things that it's really helpful for organizing complex workflows and also good for personal use! Cons Well, what I like least about Things is that not suitable for teams or shared projects, but still good for solo professionals. It was a huge help to my productivity. But there were a few things that I wanted it to do that it did not, and I found ways to work around them. But eventually I found another solution that better fit my needs and I switched over. Pros The best thing about Things is how easy it is to add and organize the tasks that you need to accomplish. It is easy to brain dump them in, and then also easy to move them around and get them in the right order so you can get them done efficiently Cons The main problem I had with Things is that I wanted more ways to delineate and differentiate tasks. I use color codes a lot, and tags as well – tags are great in Things, but I could have used more ways to separate tasks and projects so it would be easy to get a sense of what needs to be done at a glance. I switched because I was overwhelmed by features and spent to much time managing my system. I love Things because it is fully functional and yet simple. I'll be a long-term paying customer. Pros I love the simplicity and aesthetic of Things. It is intuitive and just works. Syncing is rock solid across platforms. It has the essential features I need: Projects, Areas, tasks, notes, and tags. Headings are nice as well. Cons There are a few features I wish were available. I mainly wish there was a way to create some custom views or perspectives, especially with tags. I also wish there was the option for a review function. It provides, together with my calendar app, structure and confidence that I will remember to do everything needed at the right time. Pros Things simplifies my life and frees up brin capacity by letting me schedule tasks to do today or years from now and then focus on what to do now, knowing that the future tasks will pop-up on my list when they require my attention. Cons Things does not have its own geolocation function that allows you to get reminders based on your location (e.g. remind me to talk to X when arriving at work next time). There is a way to accomplish that with app integration, but it would be great if it was native to Things. I open the app first thing in the morning and close it as the last one at night. It‘s super intuitive to add and view task for both short- and long-term projects.
