November 13, 2019 5.0 Incredibly easy configuration and a lot of information about your web apps, with almost no effort! Pros It's incredibly easy to configure New Relic integration within a lot of web frameworks, like Ruby on Rails for example, which gives the developer a great experience to use this tool! Cons There nothing relevant that I find really bad at this tool. December 13, 2018 5.0 If you want to know how well your app is performing, I would really consider installing this! Pros Awesome determining the overall performance of your app. With this you can also see which transactions (web requests) are returning with long response times. You can also get very granular and narrow down to a specific time. Even though you have to pay a slight premium for the service, the quality of data delivered is worth it. Pros New Relic gives granular insight into the performance of my microservices. New Relic Insights allows me to setup dashboards that allow me to understand the health and performance of my environment at a glance. The quality of service is much better than the competitors. Pros I like the professional nature of the software and the in-depth inspection of how our software stack works it surfaces. It makes certain classes of issues much easier to see. Cons I used to really not like the cost of the service when accessing them as a startup. I believe they've found a price point that makes sense some of the time. New Relic does everything we wanted to do. It also sends automatic alerts based on alert conditions and policies we create based on our requirements. We can ask difficult questions if we don't have a solution using the discuss.newrelic.com website which is provided by the New Relic website and get the solution. Cons The Price varies based on multiple factors and cannot predict our costs. The development process can be improved. Sometimes New Relic Query returns the wrong output but we need to run the query to return the correct output. April 16, 2018 5.0 Pros New Relic is a must have for anyone with servers and needs monitoring. New Relic has been a life saver as it is always watching and tracking how our servers are doing. There are so many different changes you can tweak for alerts so you can always be alerted for anything you might need. Cons I can't think of any cons at the moment. I am not sure if New Relic offers the same tools available for Ruby on Rails applications in another programming languages and/or frameworks. It was easy to deploy new checks. Cons We were migrating our infrastructure to the cloud (Microsoft Azure) and at the time New Relic could not provide us required checks from Internet, e.g. simulating session for end user to web service. Monitoring any VM's cpu usage, memory usage and other is very easy with this. You can also find the root of load like you can check which api hit is getting more load on your machine which helps in optimizing things. Cons Hard to say any cons of this tool. Owner Internet Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great way to monitor and troubleshoot bottlenecks in your system" April 20, 2019 5.0 We initially used New Relic to figure out where the bottleneck was on a complicated WordPress site, and ultimately to build a custom management outside the self-recursive out-of-the-box WP table structure. Pros New Relic is easy to set up and is amazing in tracking down bottlenecks in code and databases. We've used it on PHP and WordPress projects to figure out how to speed them up and to keep an eye on resources. Cons The cost - we'd use it a lot more if it was cheaper. They're fairly priced but not for smaller projects. Crashlytics is better at reporting the crashes I believe. Mainly because they can include custom data. Like id's etc. But the Insights part of New Relic is really good and for us it ads value. Pros Insight is really good and easy to use. And it's really good that 7days retention is now part of normal tier. Cons Not getting custom attributes on crash reports. Cumbersome to compare data from different versions in mobile part. But it can be done in Insights.
