Overall, it’s been a wonderful experience with Phorest. The customer service is hands-down some of the best I’ve ever experienced. We could not be happier.

Pros

Very handy to use, easy to educate staff on updates. Friendly, easy to use for accounting and bookkeeping.

Cons

Difficulties with the online app when customers are booking. The customers that state they have difficulties usually say it has to do when they are entering in the email. We remind the guest that they need to have an updated app version and an updated software version. That usually fixes whatever is going on.

Overall, it has been great service by the Phorest team, you guys truly have great staff. Also, the online booking site is easy to use for clients.

Pros

The customer support is always great and they are easy to reach. Client management and scheduling appointments are simple.

Cons

It's is pricey. The ads service alone is $100 a month plus an additional payment for the ads itself is a bit of a stretch for us.

Any partnership will have their ups and downs but Phorest is a company with a lot of integrity so we know we can trust our partnership with them.

Pros

I like the ease of use and the constant pace of updates. It is usually easier for us to handle smaller improvements rather than one update that changes everything at once.

Cons

The online store needs to be more user friendly, from both a consumer and salon perspective. An improvement to this would entice us to add it to our services.

My overall experience with Phorest has been phenomenal. I recommend them to all of my salon friends. The marketing tools are unmatched, the reporting capabilities are endless. I have not found another software that comes close to what Phorest offers.

Pros

I love the marketing features and the ability to run the reports that I need. The support that we have from our \[sensitive content hidden\]. And how they are always being innovative and staying ahead of the game.

Cons

Sometimes the reports are not consistent (the numbers). That is the only thing I have bad to say. We love phorest

Overall, we love Phorest! We had our old system for over 15 years. and are glad we made the switch!!

Pros

All the features our old system did not offer! Such as text confirmation, apps. for stylists mobile devices, and all the marketing material available through the program is fantastic!

Cons

Mobile app. can be very glitchy at times. logs you out, closes unexpectedly, even having to sometimes delete, redownload and sign back in.

Pros

User friendly interface. Appointment scheduling and client management very efficient. Good value for money.

Cons

When trying to contact Technical support, the reply might be a bit delayed. But, no major issues happened.

10/10 overall phorest is an amazing all over system! I’m very grateful I found this system it makes things much easier!

Pros

Phorest cover so many necessary systems when owning a salon. Retail, inventory, payment processing system and online booking.

Cons

The only thing I wish I could fix about phorest is that phorest should automatically email the account holder when the inventory drops below the minimum quantity. This would allow management to be notified when an order needs to be placed.

Pros

We love our customer support, really loved \[sensitive content hidden\]. And we enjoy the ease of use for our staff when it comes to tracking their appointments and schedules.

Cons

Sometimes the reporting is difficult but usually we find it. I would also love if we could get better discounts and offers for salons with multiple locations.

I absolutely love the inventory management and reporting. Our stylists are in love with the phorest to GO app.

Cons

Only complaint stylists have is for gap booking and how they have to book processing time which turns into a nightmare for receptionists

Pros

Great product and great customer service. Phorest is the best out of all platforms that I have used in my shop.

There is no on line waiting list for clients. I wish clients could get on a waiting list and be notified of openings

### "Don’t get Phorest "

I started using Phorest in July and in January it’s now I decided to end my contract. They have you sign on for a year but broke their side of the contract so now it is null. This company has horrible customer service. Do NOT get any extra add ons such as “app” or “online store”. It was 6 months and I was paying for features I had no access to and the sales people couldn’t ever tell me when it would be finished, what needs to be done. The on boarding was horrible I went from fresha to Phorest and it took months and clients hate Phorest and still complain about it. They messed up our schedule and client appointments. They told me they would credit me this month when I’m signing off the contract and without notice they disabled my account during a work day and took hours to get ahold of anybody. Do yourself a favour and avoid months of hardships and thousands of dollars in the drain.

Pros

The staff goals is the only thing that stuck out to me. I liked the idea of having an app but they weren’t able to do that.

Cons

Customer service is bad. They don’t follow through on anything. Onboarding was horrible. Unable to downgrade plans.

With regards to your app, the delay was due to steps that needed to be taken by you as the salon owner. We are happy to help with as much as possible but there is certain steps that we simply cannot do for you for legal reasons and this was the cause of the delay. With regard to cancelling your account "without notice". While I understand you are frustrated, this simply isn't true. We know how important software is to salon owners and we would never cancel a customers account without notice. You instructed the team to cancel the account, which we did. ### "Just don't do it"

Not happy. The system is very slow, it freezes up and makes it very difficult to work with.

Pros

It seemed great at first, especially the fact that I can have as many people without paying extra.

Cons

I do NOT like the fact that you cannot designate 2 staff members to perform one treatment, I do NOT like the fact that when you cancel, you can NOT get ALL you data, they hold it hostage making you pay them $295 to export your data, and even that won't allow you to take ALL your data. This should be Illegal! I own it not Phorest!

### "Phorest is the best option on the market"

Our salon has 4 locations, and operate in two different provinces. With Phorest, we are able to track all 4 locations from anywhere we have the software installed. This allows our management team to make reports and help with any booking/sales issues our receptionists may have. We've found the marketing tools to be very helpful to send our clients promotions, and newsletters.

Pros

\- Easy multi-location implementation and support. - Consistent updates that continue to improve the software. - Meets all of our booking and POS needs. - Includes an excellent built-in rewards/points system, that has customizable features. - Very comprehensive reports that make it easy to track the performance of the business, as well as, track the personal performance of each employee, allowing the management to set goals with employees and track their progress. - Online booking system works seamlessly with Phorest's application and works with our business website/facebook page. - Reasonable pricing.

Cons

\- We wish the reviews could be listed directly as a Facebook review instead of something we have to post ourselves on our business page wall. - We also hope to see a better system for employee categories in the near future. If I want to change the price on one service an employee does, I have to create a new category for them specifically, and there is no way to copy and past the old category. It makes a 1 second change into a 15-20 minute ordeal.

### "Ok System with horrible customer service and no follow up"

I’ve had a ton of ups and downs from day one. Beware what the sales team promises because it’s not likely true. And good luck if you want to streamline marketing and your online store. The store will not sync with any social media or selling platforms, so it’s essentially useless. Marketing is decades behind anything else out there.

Pros

POS system is good. Easy product setup.

Cons

The worst customer care I have dealt with in a very long time. The online store is very sub-par. Marketing looks horrible. System and app do not work well together. Way to expensive for the service you receive.

Needless to say, we are looking at other systems and will be cancelling as soon as possible.

Pros

Roster works well. Appointments scheduling

Cons

Too many reports that are too complex and not user-friendly. It looks like they have no idea of what is needed for back-office reporting in a salon. Payroll download to CSV with useless information, data not in any logical order, and it reads top to bottom instead of left to right which is how most systems work. There are differences between the desktop and web applications as far as functionality, so I find myself toggling between the 2 to get the information I need. And most importantly, there was not honest full disclosure from sales on what was included AND that we would be locked into a 1-year contract that will be automatically renewed unless you give no less than 2 months notification in writing to cancel. Most systems do not have a contract. Be careful of the SMS texts and what is included versus extra. Things that are included in most other systems are extra with Phorest. On multiple occasions we had to reach out to get a function added that we should have had from the beginning. Each time I try to get do something and I use the help function, go to our system and we don't have the functionality that their instructions give.

I think there was some frontend dashboard things that looked helpful, and the rate was supposed to be lower than our previous system. But what we found is that some of the functionality that was standard on MangoMint and other systems is extra in Phorest which increased the cost.
