Network for Good allows me to keep in touch with donors; the email blasts and direct mail options are very helpful.

Pros

This product is easy to use and helpful for small non-profits with few members and other jobs. The training and videos before setting up are beneficial and give information on how to succeed.

Cons

It is not a dislike; it is more that it does not work for my schedule. Most of the webinars are on Wednesdays during the daytime. They are recorded, so it is not a huge issue, just I am unable to be involved live.

Pros

The software is very easy to understand and provides a multitude of uses for fundraising, donor management, communications management, and email blasts. The software has helped us organize our database and contacts while designing and sending new emails that are consistent with our non-profit brand. We also enjoy the customer service and quick response time when we have inquiries.

Cons

We are still relatively new to the platform and have not come across many cons. As a small non-profit organization, it can be difficult to understand and use all of the resources Network for Good offers, so it would be helpful for you to guide small non-profits to prioritize items that will work best for their organization.

Pros

I liked the amount of instant support I got from their team whenever I had questions, the ease of tracking donations and new contacts, and their email blast feature.

Cons

I did not like that the customizable email templates were a bit hard to use and could use an update. Since Network for Good was bought by Bonterra I have not liked the decrease in customer support and glitches in the system when there are large amounts of people logged onto the site.

### "Easy to use and time-saving donor management system"

Our small nonprofit struggled with finding a way to manage our donors and Network For Good (NFG) provided a perfect solution. The amount of time I save with the software automating many of the data entry I used to do manually is incredible. That it is cloud based and multiple users can access means that I am no longer the only person who can access our financial numbers and donor contacts, so the bookkeeper and key stakeholders can access the information they need without having to go through me.

Pros

\-Time saving through data automation -Ease of use, both for understanding the system and navigation through the pages -Quick response from customer support << so important! -Willingness of customer support to take suggestions to improve the database -The increase in donors selecting options that directly increase giving, specifically paying processing fees and opting for recurring donations, is making a big difference to our organization's bottom line -Clear visual represenations of the data to quickly understand recent activity and to see the financial progress -Integrated emailing through Constant Contact--a system we already use--helps to communicate easier with small segments of our donors, making them feel more into the organization -Customizable event registration integrated into the database is HUGE for us since a large portion of our donations are collected in relation to trips and dinners.

Cons

\-The emails sent through the database using Constant Contact aren't completely customizable, I would like to have the link color be controllable so our visual branding is consistent across platforms. -The two portals to access the NFG websites (donor database and the dashboard for our the account) were difficult to differentiate at first since they both open to a dashboard--it took weeks for my people to understand the difference (my people tend to be over 65 and less computer savvy) -Custom questions asked during checkout still have to be entered manually--this should be automated -I am still new to the system and discovering things that are a little off from what I am used to with the previous way we dealt with our donors, however, NFG is very responsive to helping me find work arounds that utilize the features of the software

### "Excellent Service"

Very efficient, professional and simple to use.

Pros

Our non profit agency has used Network for Good for 10 years. We have received 100% of monies donated. Whether it was for fundraising or just a donor wanting to help, we have received donations on a timely basis. This year has been especially hard helping families due to COVID 19. Through the initiative Project Uplift program, we have been serving children, the homeless and seniors with daily meals, protective masks and in many cases, a place to stay. Knowing that Network for Good is a secure site to manage donations has made it really easy for us. So far, we have the Mission has served 8,000 meals since the start of this pandemic. We thank our front line heroes for the dedication in keeping our resources available for families in need. Hats off to Network for Good. We truly appreciate your honesty and your transparency in helping us be more efficient in our efforts in helping those less fortunate. They have expanded our program and allowed us to help seniors, the homeless and youths.

Cons

Software is very easy to manuever. I never experienced an issue and when I did, customer service walked me through, step by step.

### "Salsa turned out to be way too complex for a small non-profit without a dedicated CRM person."

Not much. It was too clunky and complex for us to learn and use. Please note, you should not be using my LinkedIn profile because the main LI profile is for a company I'm working with not for my non-profit. Using a LI profile simply doesn't work for people who have multiple roles at different organizations.

On the surface SALSA looked to have everything we needed in a modern user interface. Email program. It was relatively easy to create

Cons

Salsa, as it currently exists, is an integration of three separate solutions. The CRM and the Engage products actually use separate databases that need to sync with each other. The fundraising module was a completely different and much older interface. The support was friendly and knowledgeable but with no experienced IT/CRM person on staff Salsa was simple too complex to learn and remember, especially since we used it only one per month. We decided to cancel our contract and move to something simpler and more manageable for us. Salsa management declined to return the unused portion of our contract. I don't believe would have been a great sacrifice to return to our non-profit. But they chose not to. Similarly, the merchant services account we had to sign with Salsa was for a three-year period, even though our contract with Salsa was only annually. We're now paying a cancellation fee for that service. I'm certain that Salsa probably works well for larger organizations, but it was simply too complex for our small team.

Overall, our experience has been great. We're excited to see how easy it is to track the ticket sales for our first in-person fundraiser using NFG.

Pros

It was easier to use than I thought it would be. The training videos are very good. It was wonderful to have a coach in the beginning. We can create different kinds of campaigns. We can create newsletters to keep in touch with our supporters. We can send out email blasts without having to send them out in batches. Adding the contact lists from Excel, Access and Outlook was a little time consuming but not difficult and I was able to do that task myself.

Cons

There is a little bit of a learning curve but it's not difficult to use. There's not really anything that I don't like about NFG.

I attended a couple of the webinars and it seemed that NFG could provide the services we needed in order to accomplish our fundraising goal. The RRI Board felt the cost for the NFG was reasonable so we decided to try it. We're happy with it.

Pros

Network for Good is aesthetically pleasing and makes every effort to be clear in where data is held. The live graphics of fundraising goals and the website integration are amazing.

This is not a tool for organizing or for engaging your base.

Pros

Bonterra is easy to navigate and has made launching our inaugural fundraiser a breeze! Things have been integrated seamlessly. We will continue to use them for upcoming events.

Cons

There isn't a way to reorder sponsorship levels on the event landing page (ascending vs. descending). Hopefully this optional feature can be added.

NFG has allowed us to recoup lost time and stop duplicating efforts. The customer support is effective and on going.

Pros

The greatest feature of NFG software is how everything is integrated seamlessly into one place. No more hunting for information in several different software products. Also, it is so easy to use for donor management, communication and setting up events. I wish we had switched sooner!

Cons

I have not found anything I really don't like. I do wish there was a way for donors to give using bank draft. I have a donor right now that would like to do this.

Overall I have been very pleased with the product. Sales staff were knowledgeable and helpful, onboarding support was terrific, training was solid and customer support is responsive.

Pros

Software is user friendly, accomplishes many needs within a single system, and saves me a ton of time. Customer support is readily available and helpful and the migration from previous system was smooth.

Cons

I think that there should be a seamless way to pull total household giving and not have it split between members of same household. Having to have each person entered as a contact means that household data cannot be easily calculated. Soft credit giving is also hard to obtain when we are trying to pull our major donors. For direct mail and emails, it would be helpful to display what the current font/colors in use are....system does not do this.

Maintaining donor data accuracy is now so, so easy! No more manual updates of spreadsheets. Anyone on the team with authorization can access and manipulate data...knowing now we are all looking at the same data! Ability to filter data to create reports is fantastic compared to our previous labor intensive manual efforts. A Few keystrokes and wa'la'...its done.

Pros

We went from excel spreadsheet to automated donor management 'overnight'....very easy data upload, easy to learn how to manipulate , plenty of 'on-boarding' assistance and instruction, and an excellent catalogue of 'self help' knowledge tools.

Cons

Payment processing is limited to Network for Good's own system...would like to see them incorporate PayPal (or other payment processor) to offer prospective donors additional payment processing gateways. (They tell me they are looking at it.)

We haven't had the best experience with Network For Good. It seems like they would be a better fit for smaller organizations. We are mid-sized but are growing quickly and it doesn't suit our needs well.

Pros

Overall, it's pretty user friendly. Dashboard looks nice and information is generally easy to view. I like that our donation pages only have our logos/branding on it.

Cons

Reporting is not intuitive. Customer service is not the best. Donation pages have minimal customization.

As my review title states: overall, a useful product, but it's definitely got room for macro design improvements.

Pros

There are unlimited capabilities with the software. Salsa CRM offers everything you could possibly desire in a CRM designed for a nonprofit. In fact, there's so much functionality, that after six months of having used the software, I still feel like I'm only 25% of the way there with fully knowing it inside and out. Constituent profiles are clean and easy-to-navigate, and they help unearth stats that can ultimately help you recapture lapsed donors and sustain their commitment to the org. Additionally, customer support is always there to help you navigate the software should you ever get lost.

Cons

The training is not exactly exciting or something an audio-visual-hands-on combo type of learner with ADD is going to find very useful. I think it's unfortunate that the product vocabulary has to be all "startup-y." I'm still trying to understand the reporting systems. I've also been faced with buggy moments that typically require restarting the software which causes delays in getting work done.

This company only informed us they were sunsetting in December when I called in February to dispute a bill. And they let me know that, by the way, my contract with them ends in April. If I needed access to my database until December, they could do that for a 30% upcharge per month.I hate this company and I am so glad we're done with them.

The platform is robust and had endless data export possibilities...

Cons

We hated the batch donation interface, the user experience, the customer service, the complexity of the platform, and that it did not integrate well with Salsa Engage, the email marketing/payment page builder tool from the same provider. Nightmare product.

### "Young Nonprofit Unlocking It's Potential"

Overall, the experience has been good. As our organization grows, I look forward to taking advantage of some of the other features I haven't used yet.

Pros

As a newer nonprofit with a staff of two, Network for Good has been an excellent tool to streamline our operations. Creating and sharing campaigns, entering and tracking donations, and sending out newsletters all from one system has been extremely helpful. The software is easy to use and feels intuitive.

Cons

Not having a dedicated staff member focusing on the financials has made the sync to our Quick Books difficult. I have had trouble understanding how to set up the sync and reconcile it in our QB. Customer support is overall mostly helpful, but there have been a few times were I was directed to do something in a way that was overly complicated than it needed to be. For example, I was directed to create a campaign page for a newsletter in order to share it online, instead of just advising that I post the link to the newsletter.

We have been a Donor Pro client for years and were excited about the merger and possibilities with Salsa. However, we felt a bit neglected as a previous client, slipping through the cracks of the transition and experiencing a number of problems because of this. The overall functionality of the product has been cumbersome, making it feel like they launched the merger before ironing out really important issues. Customer service is generally good with very kind people. At first, the response time was great 1-2 days, however, we now end up facing at times 3-4 weeks on some tickets. But, I got tired of calling for an update on an issue, having the person try to fix it on the phone even though they land in the same place as the previous person...I can't figure this out, I need to send it to the developers or update the ticket. In general, I just spent way too much time trying to find answers, solutions, and we are a small organization that cannot afford it. They have updated their website in a way that gets you really excited about the product. It looks great and probably is for a new organization just starting out! But, it just hasn't been a great experience for us. Functionality was up and down. And, as an organization in transition, both with software tools and looking to grow and expand, we thought this would be a helpful tool. It hasn't met our expectations yet, and holding our breath a bit longer to see if things improve.

Pros

The integration is nice when it is working to its full capacity.

Cons

Too many glitches, issues with functionality. Things are not as streamlined as they seem to be advertised. A lot of challenges and issues for our team.

The impact of NFG has been immediate and significant. We instantly gained access to an intuitive tracking system, useful strategy guides, excellent communication tools, and social media linkages. Day after day, feature upon feature, we are repeatedly impressed and delighted. We also invested in some coaching from on of NFGs experts which helped super-charge our implementation. The cost of NFG and the coaching support has been surprisingly affordable, and the payoff has been tremendous. I can't say enough positive things about Network for Good.

The video feature has been a huge hit. It would be even better if there were an option to upload short edited videos as an alternative to shooting them live in one take.

### "Increased donor retention"

Tracking donors and being able to use the filters has helped us determine who our lapsed donors are, who is current, who is new. We are able to add notes to each donors page that help when making calls.

Pros

Network for Good makes it easy to communicate with my donors. Plus we have a coach that I meet with monthly. She has helped us not only navigate the system but also helps with our messaging.

Cons

Initially I had a hard time figuring out how to use some of the features that are available. But after using it for a while and with the help of tech support it has become easy to use.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

Initially we received a partial grant to try Network for Good. But once we made it through the first year of use there was no turning back. This is one of the best and easiest databases for not only tracking our donors but we can communicate with them very easily. Keeping our donors updated on what our nonprofit is doing has increased donations.

### "For a non-profit there are better options"

We keep the account open in case someone chooses to give thru it, but it's not a priority to us to actively pursue using it.

Pros

We like the ability to reach a broad audience, and NFG does have a broader audience

Cons

The percentage on transaction fees - for a budget conscious non-profit, there are better options out there. Also the timing to get funds to the account. We were set up with NFG for quite some time and suddenly received a check in the mail with funds from 6 months prior with a note saying they could not locate our organization. We have since set up ACH with them, but they could have done more to locate us and get the donor funds to us sooner.

Hi there! From your review it sounds like you have a free account with us (using our donation processing service for nonprofits and not using any of our software products for donation pages or our donor management system). I wanted to let you know that we do have a lower fee structure for our subscription-based donation pages vs our free online donation platform. And, I'm sorry about the time it took to get the check to you! We always recommend nonprofits keep their address updated with Guidestar as that is the "nonprofit database of record" for many in the nonprofit space. However, I'm glad you signed up for ACH!
