Excellent! The support staff is always helpful and timely and the Fundraising Coaching sessions have been very helpful.

Pros

My nonprofit organization initially selected Bonterra/Network For Good because of it imbedded communication tools that allow us to stay in touch with our donors. While other CRM applications use email integrations with MailChip and Constant Contact, Bonterra/Network For Good's email, text, video messaging, and direct mail features are integral to their application. We have not been disappointed.

Cons

While Bonterra/Network for Good had good tools for creating reports, I would like to see better tools and options for creating reports.

### "Excellent nonprofit Donor software"

We have the best customer service representative, she is always kind in a great mood when we call her and is very calm when we ask 1 million questions because we still don’t understand what we’re doing. However, after a minute or two or several, we have a new skill and a new way to reach our donors.

Pros

The ease of use, they offer a webinars if you don’t understand a certain option they offer, the chat in chat box, and you can always call and speak to a person which is rare these days!

Cons

Honestly, it has nothing to do with the software and more with the lack of ours in a day to utilize all of the aspects this product offers.

Their training staff is exceptional, and we've really enjoyed this system over our previous one. We highly recommend Bonterra!

Pros

NFG was brought to our non-profit organization through a Jumpstart program and we compared it against the Salsa system we were using. Bonterra is much easier to use and reports are infinite - We love it!

Cons

We were gifted reduced pricing for the software the first 1-2 years, so the retail price is a bit harder for our non-profit but the benefits are much greater and we'll continue to use it

### "NFG allowed us to grow"

We are a young, small non-profit. We began using Network for Good in our 5th year. Transitioning to Network for Good was easy thanks to the Quickbooks, MailChimp and PayPal integration. We got rid of PayPal, MailChimp, Ticket Leap and Event Brite once we shifted to NFG because all those services were now in one place. I would credit the software with the growth we experienced over the last year. It allowed our small staff to work smarter and more streamlined, which allowed us to put more time and energy into our mission and our work.

Pros

Ticket/ event services, analytics, email builder is really easy to use

Cons

The integration with quickbooks was challenging at first, but the customer service team was always a big help.

It has been a fairly easy process to switch to NFG. Great customer support. Only complain was that we had to mainly set up our direct deposit, which was a bit of a pain.

Pros

I like that it is simple and user-friendly. I have also enjoyed the customer support they have and always help and answer questions quickly and effectively.

Cons

Least favorite part is that when you set up an event, after selling 50 tickets, NFG takes $1 per ticket sold. As a nonprofit, this adds up quick for us. Although I love using NFG, if we could find another platform that didn't do this but had all of the other good features NFG has, we would probably switch to them.

### "All encompassing platform"

I have had a generally good experience using NFG and the transition to Bonterra. Besides the reporting being confusing to me I would recommend this to other nonprofits.

Pros

The system is easy to learn and navigate. We can keep all of ur donor's information in one central location and have the ability to shoot out email marketing or thanks you's from their home screen.

Cons

I have found the reporting for donation disbursements to be a bit lackluster. I have had to pull many reports just to find the varied information I am searching for. I am not sure if this is user error or if the system can enhance and improve their reporting.

Pros

Great integration between donor giving, contact/outreach, and over all record keeping for the nonprofit. Most importantly - I can pull reports on my donors easily! And it handles end of year giving letters!

Cons

Don't like that you can move the donation box to more places on the screen - it covers the best part of the picture often!

Our experience has been wonderful. We have had all we need when we needed it. We went from zero donations 8 years ago to now having raised over one quarter of a million dollars to date.

Pros

It was a perfect fit for the development of our entire fundraising program. There was nothing formal before we began tracking with BGF.

Cons

I don't have any criticism. I know that I still don't use all the features available, but we are a small organization with only one site.

Excellent experienc for all of these! As a person with NO EXPERIENCE at all in any type of Donor Management system, it was quite easy for me to get started, and then with the incredibly helpful support staff, I am growing in my capabilities and understanding of the depth of capabilities in the software for all of these things: Donor Information Management Donor thank yous - so easy Donor Information analaysis - amazing tools, and custom selecting for emails/annuncements etc. Newsletter design capabilities Email design and sending capabilities Text capabilities Information feedback from outreach materials. Pretty much everything is great!

Pros

When I was walked through the introductory DEMO, and purchased the softwared I had NO idea how advanced it is, and the many options it has. Not only does it effectively and efficiently track donors, allow deposit into your bank account directly, it provides incredible analytical tools and outreach capabilities. The email, text, and Newsletter capabilities are so professional and are so well organized. The product support is fantastic. From on boarding to actively using they really are there for you. We are a small 100% volunteer non-profit, so this is all on our own time, and it is incredible to have this team at Network for Good to help us with this area of our Non-profit. It is a large expenditure for us because 100% of our donations go directly to our causes, and we are fairly small, but it is absolutely worth it for the incredible amount of time I save in account management, donor information management, and not to mention the incredible publicity and outreach tools. THANK YOU NETWORK FOR GOOD! I could not have imagined that it would be this good.. Thank you for assisting small non-profits like us... to some real good, very professionally! Gracias

### "For non-profit basics, use it"

Overall, I liked the program, but will not be renewing after the first year because it did not have the "depth" that I needed. We had DonorPro, which was bought out by Salsa, who then moved over to the Bonterra Group of products, so I was forced to leave our former software. I tried NFG, but it doesn't not meet my needs.

Pros

I found it easy to use and track donations and "clients". It is visually appealing. I do a lot of mailings, and it was easy to do filters to make those mailings happen

Cons

For me, it doesn't have enough "depth". What I need in a program like this is the ability to have several pets listed for each contact and it cannot do that. I had to put in another whole contact - but it couldn't be a duplicate of the other - to list the 2nd pet someone had. This is on the contact side. I could not use the Donor side for this because I couldn't filter it properly for the mailings I needed to do.

I wish that there were more moves management tools to track donor engagement, but I bet that Network for Good will develop these.

### "Difficult to use and quite disappointing"

I think our sales representative was very good at what he does. The software for Salsa Engage looks great outer-facing. However, the connection to the CRM is disappointing, and email deliverability is also hard. Regarding the CRM itself, it is not at all user friendly. Getting things set up and onboarded was lacking on behalf of Salsa. Customer support is always very friendly, but they simply point me to the same articles to go read over and over again. Which I have done. Many times. Yet, I still would appreciate some actual guidance/help.

Pros

I think the CRM has the potential to be robust. However, entering and mining the data is quite difficult.

Cons

As someone who has been in marketing, fundraising, and tech for 15+ years, I am pretty tech savvy. And, this CRM is hard to use. Anything that should be easy isn't. Specifically, printing donor recognition letters/receipts is cumbersome. Running donor reports is cumbersome.

### "Cost effective 1-stop solution for non profits"

I was forced to learn to use NFG without notice because Constant Contact obsoleted our templates without any warning (they sent eMails to our accounting staff who had no clue what the messages meant, but no warnings got to me, the person that creates the messages). Learning to use it was easier than I imagined. Most importantly lots of online help when I needed it (which was immediately!)

Pros

Very easy to use. I do the eMail marketing for our organization and it is very competitive feature wise with other stand-alone applications like Constant Contact. One of the features I really like is when I copy/paste text into an email with URL links in the text, the links come with the text. Saves a lot of time!

Cons

Lack of ability to mix text and graphics in a single block of an eMail limits your design flexibility. Small inconveniences like having to manually enter test message eMail addresses every time you send one makes creating messages where you are going to have 4-6 revisions with a test message between each a cumbersome. Lack of folders for graphic items makes finding them a bit more difficult. Lastly, when you send test messages, there is no way to make comments to the reviewers. I just add a text box at the top of the message and put my comments regarding each revision in there. It's on me to remember to delete that block before the message gets send out to our users. This scares me as things get urgent when we get to the finish line and I'm afraid someday I'm going to forget to delete that block, or the system is going to glitch and send it out accidentally!

Pros

The features we love the most are the communications platform; especially the newsletters to our supporters, and the donor tracking system. Both are very user friendly.

Cons

While learning anything new is a challenge, we found putting together the newsletters for the first time was a bit confusing. Once you learn how though its a piece of cake.

I've had great customer service, I think the price is right in line with other products and I'm getting a much better product. The conferences and webinars NFG puts on are really high quality. I get so much more than just software.

Pros

The features I love the most are the filter and grouping options in the donor management, as well as the easy to use fundraising pages that link to my website. OH! And I also really love the communication options. The emails are such a timesaver when sending a thank you and the option to send out newsletters is fantastic and makes me look very professional and modern.

Cons

I didn't like that there wasn't an auction function, but now that there is I have no complaints!

NFG has increased donor communication and has assisted supporters with understanding why they fund our nonprofit. NFG allows different media platforms and allows the efficient and effective use of time allocated for fundraising.

Pros

NFG is an intuitive fundraising platform that was built with the nonprofit director in mind. The product is easy to use, easy to onboard and contains a wide variety of fundraising tools to assist with development. NFG coaching and continual upgrades allow the product to change with time.

Cons

Importing outside video into fundraising communications is not intuitive.

### "A Great Donor System"

I love the onboarding "hand-holding," the daily questions and answer sessions, and the coaching.

Pros

The ease of producing Campaigns and receipts.

Cons

The integration with Quickbooks Online did not work for me. I loved the initial upload for my donors from Quickbooks to NFG but the integration from NFG to QBO is confusing. Grouping payment type into one lump sum that would include several donations and did not include the Donor name was a nightmare!!!!!! I spent hours matching donations to donors. I had to hire a QBO expert ($125/hr) that was better than my usual "when I get stuck" QBO professional ($75/hr), who could not figure out NFG system. The expert told me to record deposit information (only) into QBO and let NFG be the donor record.

The salesman said it integrated with QBO, which did not work for me but I'm not disappointed about everything else.

Network for Good helps our team organize and manage our donor and fundraising communications and activities. It has a wide variety of features that we use on a daily basis to help advance the mission of our ministry. I am grateful for the wonderful customer support I have received every time I call in. Keep up the great work!

Pros

Simplicity and ease of use; user interface is fairly straightforward; the ability to create donor/user-specific tasks is helpful; it's great how Network for Good integrates with our website to allow the creation of fundraising pages. I also like sending email blasts and sometimes personalized videos.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to update donor credit card information directly - this would also save time for your team because I have to call and have them do it every time. I have submitted ideas for other features, like a messaging capability in NFG to communicate with other team members about specific donors, and unlinking duplicated forms so that changes made to one do not affect the other.

### "Good value"

Pros

I came to this product when the online giving fee of our previous provider went through the roof. I was pleasantly surprised at how intuitive and friendly the contact management and donor management functions are. Now, I am using it for event management, which is a bonus.

Cons

Often, when an online donation is made, it generates a new contact, even if the person is already in the system. Yes, this can be cleaned up quickly by combining contacts. But I'd like the system to recognize each individual. And, of course, my gripe with all these systems is it doesn't handle household giving well. How do you count a gift from a married couple? It has to go against only one of their records.

### "From Rookie to Professional during a pandemic! "

When we signed on with NFG, I had no Donor Management Software experience. I was the definition of a Rookie! In addition, our organization was small, but growing rapidly, and the donor records were not in the best order when I joined the staff. The task to get it all organized and ready to upload in the system was the hardest part, but the NFG team was encouraging and helpful. Our initial contact list was pretty small, but it has more than doubled in a year! Our fundraising coach was amazing from the beginning! She was patient, encouraging, held me accountable, and was so dedicated to our success! In between our meetings, I would participate in webinars to expand my knowledge of the software and new fundraising strategies during a worldwide pandemic! When I look at all that we have learned and how far we have come in a year, I am in awe and full of gratitude and appreciation for the Network for Good team! I can say with confidence I am no longer a "Rookie," but consider myself a professional, ready and eager to learn more! I smile thinking about where we will be at this time next year because I know the Network for Good team will continue to coach and encourage us on towards excellence in the fundraising field! Thank you for having faith in us and for continuing to develop strong, confident fundraising leaders, even in the midst of the uncertainty, challenge and difficulty our country and world has faced this year.

Pros

First and foremost, we love the customer service and support team! They make you feel at ease from the start and they walk you through the entire process. We love the webinars, resource library, video message feature, built in email system and the text-to-give feature. The task bar keeps you on track and the Activity feed allows you to see what your team has been working on if you need a quick reference.

Cons

Because there are so many features, sometimes I forget how to navigate to something. This is more due to my "Rookie" status, than the software.

Pros

I’ve enjoyed the variety of the e-blast templates. I’ve recently had a very good experience w/ Customer Solutions Specialist, Lenny Wrigley who helped me troubleshoot a very urgent request for one of my donors.

Cons

The poor communication between the NFG Team and the customers paying for the services. One example was NFG changing e-mail servers and not warning the good paying customers. We lost a lot of communication with our donors the day before # givingtuesday

Hearing from customers is how we make improvements. Speaking of improvements... We're constantly evolving our customer communication and outreach every week. We are working on some team restructuring which will allow us to have better 1:1 as well as more streamlined mass communication with our donor management customers. Furthermore, our customer marketing manager and product manager have started to put together product update notes and we share them at least once a month (when the notes are released they will be the first thing you see when you log in to the donor management system. Various product updates are also included in the customer version of our weekly Tips Newsletter). We're also increasing the number of customer webinars we provide to share strategy ideas, details on product improvements, as well as an open Q&A time with our customer base. We hope you can join us for as many webinars are you are able! Our team has fixed the issue that delayed some of our customers' email sends that were scheduled around #GivingTuesday. We apologize for our system sending these emails much later than they were scheduled for. Our team identified and fixed the issue after this experience: We have more dedicated servers at the ready to support a large volume of emails being sent through our system at once. Because of feedback from customers like you, we worked quickly to make this improvement before the biggest three giving days of the year (Dec 29,30,31) and we had very few timing issues with email sends after we made this improvement. If you ever have product feedback or questions for us, you can always reach the team (and most likely Lenny!) by clicking the blue dot to open up the messaging tool in your donor management system. ### "User-friendly software for educational institutions"

Network for Good continues to be critical in day-to-day communications, and is easy to teach to new people. There are so many ways to customize our messaging and make communicating so much easier.

Pros

Sending newsletters and notifications to students, staff, caregivers, and community members is fast and easy, as is customizing contacts that belong to more than one group within the organization. Fundraisers are a breeze to set up. Network for Good is our go-to for all things fundraising and communciations!

Cons

I do wish the ticketing and events part of the software was less expensive to use beyond the free features, and wish it was priced in a tiered way (2 ticket types pay $, 3 ticket types pay $). I also wish there was a text notification portion of the software where we could send text notifications to groups.

### "First Review on NFG"

Great!! Love it and love people I work with! I loved my first contact also. She made a huge difference in my understanding the product. Now I love the chat and people I work with due to their response time and pleasant interaction while answering my questions and giving solutions.

Pros

Mass text feature allows pics and links to videos to be sent. Ease of learning the system. It meets most needs of donor management products available.

Cons

Training required in person when first learning but I think they allow videos now. When people first learn a product, it is easier for me to watch videos on basics to be able to stop, rewind etc and then a live training session with a person to answer questions. Hopefully this is possible now.

Read prior comments. I compared a lot and this met most needs which I mentioned earlier.
