My overall experience has been great. I like the fact that the onboarding process was straight forward and easy to understand. Our nonprofit the H-Town Dream Center now has everything it needs in one place. All of our campaigns from donations, email, text, fundraising, events, auctions, and live streams are all under one dashboard which makes tracking everything that much easier! Your nonprofit would be successful if you were to use "Network for Good" now known as "Bonterra"!

Pros

I liked that it was straight forward and easy to understand.

Cons

I would like to see different layouts available for the events pages and how the buttons look.

When I first obtain NFG services I was met by a friendly staff and the experts were able to help me navigate through work processes. Now when I call there is chat and other features that takes you to reporting to take extremely longer than normal.

Prior to switch from NFG to this Customer Service was direct.

Not able to speak to a live representative right away. Longer wait times.

I have enjoyed Bonterra software for the past 3 years. It gives me exactly what my organization needs. I feel like I have complete control over our data because of this excellent product.

Pros

The aesthetics of the software. It is easy to see, easy to read, and very user-friendly. The price is competitive and this system works perfectly for the small to medium nonprofit organization.

Cons

I would like the dashboard to display a current total of of all three donor categories: Retained Donors, New Donors and Reactivated Donors. I would also like to see the date of a donors first gift displayed at the top of the donor record.

Pros

The system was incredibly easy to set-up and has a user-friendly interface. I like the simplicity of the functions. Since we're a small organization, we don't need a lot of bells and whistles right now but may in the future. So it's nice having a platform that can grow with us.

Cons

Some features I've used in other CRMs that I wish were present in this platform. For example, I would like to tag a contact and have that tag be visible at the top of their profile (the closest there is currently is pinning a note to the top of a contact). I'd also love it if there were canned reports already programmed into the platform. And if previews of gift details were visible when viewing a contact rather than having to click "Actions" and then "Details".

Pros

I was able to get rid of a few software programs because of the versatility of Bonterra. I feel that this one product covers so many bases for me to collect donations, ticket sales, etc...and reach out to potential donors or buyers. It has saved our organization money because of its versatility.

Cons

I really don't have anything that is negative at this point.

Our experience has been great from onboarding until today. All staff members were able to figure out Bonterra with little to no questions from their moment of first log-in. Questions were answered as needed. No complaints.

Pros

We love this CRM. It is so much more than we expected. We are now moving more and more of our functions onto the platform. It has been user-friendly from the start and, as they add more features, it gets even better. We believe that Bonterra will be the software that is used most often now matter what the position in our organization.

Cons

We found nothing to dislike from day one.

### "Best Donor CRM for Non-profit fundraisers"

Pros

Of all the Donor CRM's that are on the market, Network for Good has, by far, the best user interface of any. The ease of use and intuitive nature of their design makes everything you create and do in the system easy to navigate and complete. There isn't anything I can think of that NFG doesn't do when it comes to nonprofit fundraising, donor management, and communication. As an added bonus, the education NFG offers is helpful to fundraisers at all levels and helps contribute to achieving results.

Cons

Customer Service can be hard to reach and sometimes unable to assist with questions and issues.

### "Solving Multiple Goals of a Varied Organization"

We are managing regular operational donations, a Capital Campaign with donor pledges, sponsor support for specific events and memberships to the organization. All of these work well with minimal need to track anything outside the system but if we do need that, the Export and Import functions make that easy. Customer service has been WONDERFUL and very responsive.

Pros

Maintaining contacts, donations and associated communications is easy for both centralized data coordination and other users in the organization. We cover Arts, Education and Recreation so our donor base has multiple interests when supporting us. Network for Good allows us to streamline both our internal procedures and our communications processes using email and letters.

Cons

It's hard to find anything I don't like. However, the Year-End Tax Reporting provides great detail at both a summary and individual donation level. It could benefit from a "Campaign" level subtotal that would help distinguish type of donation but not result in multiple pages for our sustaining donors who have monthly recurring activity.

### "Disjointed, kludgy, unintuitive, overly-complex, and outdated on the CRM side"

We gave it our best shot. We spent days and days trying to import people - without ever really succeeding. I worked for DAYS trying to master the reporting interface. Which looks (and probably is????) extremely and outlandishly powerful. The only trouble is - its SOOOO powerful (and complicated), nobody even uses it. I finally contacted the company to ask if there were any training videos on it - and they (literally) told me that virtually nobody writes their own report definitions. "Most of their customers hire consultants to do that," they said. When I finally DID succeed in writing a couple that worked, they seemed somewhat surprised. Lots of little things just didn't seem to make sense. For example, even -- if I was logged in, and two hours pass, it logs me out, providing the log-in credentials to log back in again - which is fairly common. But if one tries to put in credentials on that page and log back in, it says, in tiny print on an otherwise-white screen upper left, "Forbidden." The one thing NOT to do to a customer who has just paid $4500 for a year's worth of use of a software platform is log him out - and when he tries to use the log-in page to log back in again, tell him it's forbidden.

Salsa Engage is a new product. If they had built a CRM from the ground up, incorporating Salsa CRM components, I have a hunch it would have been better. Salsa Engage, for its part, allows one to do online forms, email groups (in a matter of speaking), and some social media integration. (But wow - they didn't.) It will indeed do those automated sequence emails (though not dependably; and strangely, when I informed their customer service that the 'drip' sequence wasn't always working, they literally said, "Yes, if

For the CRM side (Salsa CRM), they just bought an off-the-shelf product from another vendor. (DonorPro.) It's a dated interface. (Like - 1965 maybe?) (I jest. But not by much.) Then they tried to figure out a way to cobble it together with their \[better\] efforts in Salsa Engage. The trouble is, if a person doesn't buy access to Salsa CRM, there really is ZERO CRM. For example, one can generate a group email, of sorts, from directly in Salsa Engage. But there's really no way to jot down a mailing address with a phone number in Salsa Engage, solely. (It only accepts contacts with emails.) The whole thing seemd Kludgy, actually.

Overall, this is a great product. The ease of use is without match and it is perfect for an organization of our size and capacity. I love that people can fundraise for us, and look forward to engaging more donors to do this as we get even more of a handle on the software.

Pros

I love how accessible this software is. When you don't have a lot of time to dedicate to learning a new program, for the most part, this is extremely intuitive and you can learn as you go, and in nonprofit where things move really quickly and you may wear many hats, I am sure this is something very appreciated by users.

Cons

I would have like auto-acknowledge in the system for online gifts. Imports should be easier. If I name a campaign that is remotely like something that already exists in the system, the system should allow me to choose it instead of duplicating and causing a "data mess." "Global changes" if such a mess occurs would be helpful so that everything can be changed at once instead of one by one. Not being able to refund in the system is also a pain. Peer-to-Peer could also be easier in that it is difficult to do so as an organization or business as opposed to a person, every time we use it, we have to find creative ways to edit the name above so that the fundraisers can appear as desired by the teams starting the page.

Network for Good was very responsive when we needed help customizing their product. They were also open to our requests and suggestions for improvements. We were satisfied with the integration process. We felt it occurred in a timely manner.

Pros

As a smaller nonprofit we appreciate Network for Good's user-friendly design. You can get your staff and volunteers up-to-speed quickly using this software. Reports are easy to customize and the dashboard gives you a quick view of your organization's current donation status. The Peer-to-Peer fundraising feature allows us to create an event that helps us raise over $200,000 annually.

Cons

One improvement we would like to see is the ability for more complex reporting.

I am very satisfied with the product so far. My team sees the value in it and we are able to justify the cost even as a small non-profit because of the value it provides us as a donation platform and advanced CRM.

Pros

I love the ability to send videos to a donor by recording and personalizing the message all within the platform. I had spent a lot of time in the past trying to find a third party to host these features and could not find anything as simple or integrated as this. The custom reports and groups are very easy to create and help to organize our data well. The user experience is great -- it was much easier to learn and then to teach my team than other softwares like SalesForce. I like that the appearance is simple and clean. We really appreciated the assistance with data migration from our old software.

Cons

I wish that for the price it included a dedicated support representative instead of the ticketing system they have in place. The response time is usually good but I prefer being able to ask someone for help that I already have a relationship with. I also wish there was a bit more technical help -- like a 30 minute one-on-one live virtual tutorial -- with onboarding items like mapping with Quickbooks or setting up the email domains. We are a small team and none of us are trained in IT support. Reading the help articles only helps so much. The last thing I will mention is that I receive a lot of automated emails from multiple people on their team and it becomes a bit overwhelming especially in the beginning of learning the new technology.

There are many benefits our organization has gained so far from using Network for Good. First of all, we can now know who our contacts are, and easily communicate with them in several ways, We now have a much better plan in managing our donors, our sponsors, and using online and fundraising techniques. The big picture of the organization is clearer and we have a much better focus on the future of our organization because of Network for Good.

Pros

The product is easy to use, does what it is suppose to do -- most important, however, is that Network for Good provides excellent training to be able to use the entire program rather than just scratching the surface of all the features. The management of the data is excellent, we can easily access the information and put it to practical use.

Cons

The most difficult part of the software is, of course, just learning a new program. However, over the many years that I have had to learn new software programs, I must admit that with the assistance of the staff at Network for good, the process has been easier and more immediately useful than other programs.

### "The Go to for Fundraising Softwares"

I would highly recommend NFG to anyone looking to have an easy way to accept online gifts or tickets for events and keep track of their donors, including communications. NFG has saved us valuable time and money. The customer service team is wonderful and always there to help with any questions or concerns. It is easy to migrate data to NFG, and a team is there with you every step of the way.

Pros

NFG is truly an all-in-one software for nonprofit database, donation, and communications. No more trying to integrate with multiple softwares. NFG makes it easy to group supporters/donors and segment communications.

Cons

NFG is constantly integrating new ideas and upgrades to its software. I would like to be able to easily group contacts who have started peer campaigns but that is not an option at this time. There isn't a volunteer database, sign-up side to this software.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

I had previously used NFG at another organization and couldn't imagine using another software. The constant additions to make the software better, the feeling like the customers have a voice and the ease of use makes it the best system.

Donor Perfect didn't have a good way of communicating with donors, reports were hard to pull and the online giving pages were years behind where they should be.

### "New User with Network for Good"

I have to say my overall experience with Network for Good has been excellent. The help is there, I just need to ask for it as the patiently walk me through the steps on a new feature.

Pros

The feature I liked the best, is first the support system, the tracking of donors for reporting to directors and building our donor base. It has become easier as I've gained confidence in using the program.

Cons

I like all the features as they have been presented. I just needed to take one step at a time and add other features as confidence is built as we add other features. Felt a bit overwhelmed at the beginning. I needed to the initiative to use the "Help" feature more.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

I've been looking at this program for over 10 years and knew from the presentations it would be the right one for us. It awhile to convince the board of directors how this will save us money and time in many areas since we are such a small nonprofit with no staff other than the executive director.

### "The Investment Paid for Itself Almost Immediately-- Highly Recommend! "

One fundraising event of ours increased its proceeds year over year by 550% when we added in the peer-to-peer platform through Network for Good. We also found the events platforms to be super helpful with ticket sales and raffle sales.

Pros

The product is very user friendly. The peer-to-peer giving platform took our fundraising to the next level-- even during a pandemic. We love the text feature and use it to communicate with our large volunteer base. The group messaging is a fun feature and we love the email creators. Everything is in one place. All of our people are in one place! We are organized, sleek, professional, trendy, innovative, and we're able to make giving "easy" because of the Network for Good software.

Cons

The integration took a bit of time and we still have some cleaning up to do of multiple contacts, etc. That's to be expected though. All in all, the process was as smooth as it could have been.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

Network for Good had everything we needed. We made our money back in the first quarter after purchasing the software. It was a great investment and took our nonprofit to the next level!
