### "Vivian's Door Network For Good Review"

June 14, 2021

5.0

I've had an overall great experience with Network For Good. My coach makes sure that I know how to use the software to accomplish our fundraising goals.

Pros

The software is feature packed and there is great customer support. An individual coach makes the experience operating the software within the framework of your fundraising efforts is the icing on the cake.

Cons

There are a lot of moving pieces, so you have to stay abreast of the software.

### "Such a great tool ...especially for a new non-profit or ministry"

March 25, 2025

4.0

As the Founder, Exec. D. I used NFG more often than I do today in the early years - however I do appreciate the way that it has helped guide us with donor development. My most recent Director of Admin was really able to organize our groups, and contacts in a way that was more helpful for us, we are still not super savvy with our Bonterra Guided Fundraising...we seem to be always running at such a fast pace in our ministry that we lack the time to sit through all the webinars and read the very many emails that come through but we do feel it is a great product and look forward to utilizing it a bit more in the future.

Pros

When we began as a new organization - this was a super useful and helpful tool for us. We have now moved from the infant stage of development to a more mature stage where we have been able to utilize our NFG data to learn more about the trends of our donors.

Cons

I appreciate the confidentiality and security of the platform but wish that as an organization we could be trusted to input our donors as they join us into NFG with thier recurring donation commitment and if given to us the credit card information they provide us. Many donors I feel will give on the spot at an event by writing in the payment information but so many are still intimidated by the QR code, and getting on a device to do it whether there or at home when they may forget. I also wish the month end ( LDOM) Dashboard would be still be there with all the graphs etc....maybe saved somewhere so on the 5th as I prepare for board meeting the graphs would be there.

Switched from

[Church Base](https://www.capterra.com/p/175791/Church-Base/)

The functionality of grouping contacts was not as robust and there was not a guided fundraising or event tool.

### "Lack of customer support"

February 10, 2025

1.0

If you value real customer service, look elsewhere. Since this company’s corporate acquisition, the quality of support has completely deteriorated. What used to be a responsive and helpful service has now turned into an impersonal, automated nightmare. We had an ongoing issue that was never resolved because we could never reach a live person. Every attempt to contact customer service resulted in automated replies, endless ticket numbers, and generic responses—but never an actual human being willing to take ownership of the problem. There was zero accountability and no attempt to genuinely assist us. The final straw? Instead of resolving our issue or offering a real solution, the company canceled our account without our consent. Rather than engaging with their customers, they’re taking the easy way out—silencing complaints instead of fixing their service. This is a perfect example of how a corporate takeover can ruin a once-reliable company. When customer service is replaced by cost-cutting measures and automation, the result is a company that no longer cares about the people who keep them in business. If you want to be treated like a valued customer—not just a support ticket number—choose a company that still offers live, human support. Find a provider that actually listens, addresses concerns, and prioritizes service over profit. This company has proven that customers are no longer a priority, and that’s why we’re taking our business elsewhere.

Pros

Was great when it was network for good and could speak to a live dedicated representative.

Cons

No customer support exists its and when you open an email ticket you get a generic response with no resolution.

### "Pretty incredible system overall"

December 1, 2025

5.0

Overall I think you're incredibly fastidious you're on The cutting edge you're very conscientious of staying in communication with your client base you're willing to shape your software to meet the changing needs and your frequently sharing updates on information to show how to use the software more effectively. I find the too easy to use and I enjoy those interactions. Overall it's really a pretty great software system.

Pros

As a grant writer I mostly use Network for good to enter our donor funds as they come in and to keep track of grants that we receive. I'm really valuing how easy it is to use the system. I don't have to do a ton of work to get the necessary info entered. I like that when I start to type in addresses of new contacts it finds the address and populates the rest of the fields. I also like the new AI tool for creating reports I was able to ask for reports that reflected favorable outcomes just to test it out and it was clever enough to figure out what data looks decent and to send that to me. Although we haven't used it I think the text and video tools are a nice option. As somebody who values using tech I think it's good to have these things in place for when the organization is ready to do such but right now we're a little bit old-fashioned in some ways.

Cons

I think for me having a couple of categories to enter the information into is unnecessary because most of the time it's duplicated when I have the drop-down option to disseminate where the funds are to be attributed to and for what cause. I also find that it is challenging that we receive the checks and have to process them and then enter everything manually versus there being some sort of havingl way to do that like the bank has where I just photograph a check and it's pushed through somehow. Perhaps they still have to do their manual entry thereafter I'm not sure. I also wish that there was a way to find a partnership with a mail delivery service that would allow for outgoing paper thank you letters and newsletters. This would save a lot of messing around internally although we do appreciate being able to see what we want in the thank you letters I write them then they go to my boss who has to review and print and sign them and I'm not sure if there could be a real low cost worker on for this that still gets them a paper letter in the mail for both gratitude and receipting etc. A few ideas that I like that are not necessarily negative I would love to have a regular chance to meet with other Grant writers and fundraisers via teams or zoom to discuss the challenges we face and how we navigate obstacles. I am suggesting this because I am getting the opportunity to do this through procurement Express and it's really helping me to come up with some solutions and to be able to share ideas. This might help me to gain some understanding of what I might be able to use Network for good for besides just documentation which we retain internally. If I could do some really cool things with it that help our organization that would be amazing. I just don't know the system as well as I could and it's hard for me to understand what benefits there might be beyond documentation so far. I would also love some tools like a database so grant opportunities perhaps and a way to sort which ones we applied for which ones we receive money from which ones are outstanding duty it's an amounts all of that but I know that's asking a lot haha

### "Easy to manage donors from Network For Good!"

December 5, 2025

5.0

One of the most valuable aspects is the integrated communication tools. Being able to create email campaigns, segment donor lists, and track engagement within the same system saves significant time. The SmartAsk and guided fundraising resources are also helpful for organizations without dedicated development staff.

Pros

Network for Good offers a donor management system that is intuitive, accessible, and well-suited for small to mid-sized nonprofits looking to streamline their fundraising and stewardship efforts. The platform shines in its simplicity—most features are easy to navigate, even for staff members who are not tech-savvy. The clean interface makes common tasks like entering donations, pulling donor histories, and sending acknowledgments straightforward.

Cons

the system does have limitations. Reporting is adequate for basic needs but can feel restrictive for organizations that require deeper analytics or more customizable data exports. Some workflows—such as batch data entry or managing complex multi-fund designations—could be more efficient. Additionally, while customer support is responsive, certain advanced questions sometimes require multiple follow-ups.

### "Many High Praises for Bonterra Network for Good"

November 27, 2025

5.0

Overall, I've had a great experience with in my role. It has definitely streamlined many of the tasks I perform. It has encouraged me to stretch my creativity, as the software makes it quicker to do the work I have and frees up time for me to think outside of the box.

Pros

I love that is a one-stop shop for everything I need when it comes to fundraising and communicating with donors. It is very simple to create segments for emails and texts. Donors report having an easy time making card payments and the system auto-generates a customizable receipt. Reports are easy to pull from the software and easy to export. Data is even more quantitative with the use of Que, their new built-in fundraising coach.

Cons

could be better with automating tasks. As a small non-profit with a small staff, sometimes it would be beneficial to have mundane tasks set to run on their own. Our organization has also been interested in creating donor journeys, but the software does not support the automation necessary to make that happen, so we've been having to manually perform all of the tracking and communication. However, they've been steadily upgrading and expanding what the software can do, and I'm confident that more automation will be introduced in the future.

### "Network for Good and easy to use :)"

December 1, 2025

5.0

I truly love the whole experience with . I also like to see the continuous advancement and new products to help us raise more money for our causes

Pros

Really easy to work with and the ability to keep track of all donation in one place is perfect for what my charitable foundation needs. I also love the event and auction components , makes organizing and tracking a fundraiser super easy

Cons

Contact levels dictating the price levels for my foundation. I feel that increasing the yearly membership at 501 contacts is too low and forces me to delete contacts each year.

### "Great Diversity of Features!"

December 1, 2025

5.0

It seems to be a great fit for many purposes (newsletters, email blasts, fundraising, etc.) We're trying to set up our volunteer sign-up options through NFG as well, but haven't gotten there quite yet!

Pros

The ease and intuitive nature of creating our newsletters! I find the layout options and possible inclusions very valuable. Once you use the system once, it clicks!

Cons

It takes a longer than usual amount of time to login. I'm nitpicking. I know we're running into a few snafus with getting our volunteer sign-up and staff sign-up options transferred over, but I'm not sure the issue as I'm not the one working on it.

### "Extremely Disappointed with Bonterra/Network for Good's Service and Support"

October 11, 2024

1.0

Our experience with Bonterra/ Network for Good has been incredibly damaging to our organization along with so much frustration. Since the beginning of the year, we have encountered a series of major issues that have significantly impacted our ability to operate effectively. Despite our best efforts to resolve them, Bonterra/ NFG has not lived up to our expectations in both service and support. Most importantly, we lost years’ worth of vital donation records, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in donation history from one of our largest donors recorded in our database. This devastating loss occurred because one of NFG's support members misunderstood a request to remove duplicate records and ended up deleting all our data instead. This error, which could have been prevented with better communication, has devastated our organization. To compound the problem, the accountability from Bonterra has been virtually nonexistent. Regardless of us reaching out multiple times as early as June to resolve this issue, we received little to no communication from their team until 2 months after our subscription renewed, which was several months after the initial contact. The unresponsiveness left us in a problematic situation as we tried to piece together what happened and look for answers on how to recover from this. When we finally heard back, it was too late. Bonterra/ NFG was unwilling to offer flexibility on our contract terms, and even though we were actively working to transition to another platform, they cut us off from their system with little warning. This forced us to scramble to retrieve our remaining data under a tight deadline, making an already stressful situation even more stressful. For an organization that relies on accurate donor records and strong data management, the failure of Bonterra/ Network for Good has had enduring effects. They did not take responsibility for their mistakes, provided no meaningful solutions, and ultimately left us feeling abandoned during a crucial time. I strongly warn any nonprofit considering Bonteera/ NFG to carefully evaluate other platforms before making a decision. Our experience has been a sad lesson of lost trust, poor communication, and inadequate customer support.

Pros

Very basic system to it is very easy to navigate.

Cons

Lack of Accountability and Communication: One of the most frustrating aspects of Bonterra Guided Fundraising (formerly Network for Good) was the lack of accountability when critical issues arose. We lost vital donation records, including large sums from major donors, due to errors by their team, and there was no immediate communication or support to resolve the issue. Repeated attempts to reach out were ignored for months, and by the time they responded, it was too late to correct the damage. Inflexible Contract Terms: Despite the issues we faced, Bonterra refused to offer any flexibility in their contract terms. Even though we communicated well in advance of our renewal that we were facing problems and might need to transition off their platform, they still renewed our contract without providing a solution and eventually cut us off, leaving us scrambling to retrieve our data. Poor Data Handling and System Limitations: The system itself proved unreliable for managing large amounts of donor data. When a data import error occurred, it not only caused us to lose records but exposed serious limitations in their platform's ability to handle important donor information properly.

### "Your Nonprofit Would Be Successful If You....."

August 15, 2024

My overall experience has been great. I like the fact that the onboarding process was straight forward and easy to understand. Our nonprofit the H-Town Dream Center now has everything it needs in one place. All of our campaigns from donations, email, text, fundraising, events, auctions, and live streams are all under one dashboard which makes tracking everything that much easier! Your nonprofit would be successful if you were to use "Network for Good" now known as "Bonterra"!

Pros

I liked that it was straight forward and easy to understand.

### "Great CRM program"

Great CRM, easy online giving, customer service is friendly and quick, help catalog is easy to search and understand.

Pros

I really like that this CRM is very user-friendly. Point and click is so easy. And if I have a question I can ask by phone, email, or chat and get answers quickly.

Cons

When exporting sponsor information, the contact name is not included with organizations. After export, I have to add the contact name to the spreadsheet. It would be great if the contact name came over with the company name.

### "Great Product! Don't know what we'd do without Network for Good!!"

June 8, 2021

5.0

Our overall experience with Network for Good has been wonderful! When looking at a new donor management system we compared several platforms and are very happy we went with Network for Good!

Pros

The one feature that has completely boosted our fundraising are the Donor Engagement Plans that Network for Good has to offer. This has been a huge help to us in the past year! Especially not being able to do in person events. It has definitely boosted our online giving by at least 10%!! Love how simple and easy the platform is to navigate and use. They offer lots of flexibility in creating communication messages with donors.

Cons

The only con I can think of is that you cannot automatically setup ACH donations to be processed through Network for Good. We have a handful of monthly donors who give through Direct Deposit.

### "How Network for Good helps a small nonprofit"

August 19, 2021

5.0

I am delighted to be back with NFG. I only have one place to check to send emails to donors, and now videos to thank donors. I can see who has donated and check on their past history. Network for Good has been a blessing for this small nonprofit.

Pros

In 2008 as we revamped the Ghanaian Mothers' Hope website, we realized that online giving options were a thing of the future and we needed to add an online donation page. Through my work with a Maryland NGO program, I was introduced to Network for good and their incredible workshops for nonprofits. After attending several workshops, I convinced my board that we should subscribe to NFG. The donation program was first class but a little pricy. We also found a CRM and email program. After two years we were approached by another company that offered a seamless interface with a CRM and we switched. The new program was okay but was missing features offered by NFG such as giving donors the option to pay the fees. We switched to another company but once again, the service for donations was not a efficient as NFG. A few years later, during a free workshop from NFG, I learned that they offered a CRM as well as the ability to send emails. The fee was slightly higher than what we were paying for our three service: online donations, CRM, and email. The ability to do all of these things in one place made the the difference in price worth paying. As a small nonprofit with only one employee, it is important to not waste time doing the same work in several systems. Switching to NFG saved us time and money.

Cons

The thing I like least about NFG is the payment structure. Waiting until the middle to the month to receive payment for our donations is sometimes difficult. Also, finding the report for the payment is sometimes confusing since it is only used once per month. I would prefer our donations be more automatic. It takes a while to understand how to create good reports.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

NFG had the best product to offer. Everything in one place, great service, good training, and seamless integration.

### "Data Migration Less Than Desirable "

February 25, 2020

3.0

During conversion, you cannot actually speak with a person unless you have paid. You have to email ALL your questions.

Pros

It is way more user friendly that what we were using before = ETapestry but then, it's ETap so go figure.

Cons

We are in process of conversion and here are my initial thoughts: 1) pay the extra money and have someone help you unless, you don't have that many constituents. 2) I was extremely disappointed. When migrating business or organizational contacts over, you will lose multiple contact names, period. They only let you migrate ONE name over which is contained in ONE text field box. This means if you ever want to do a mailing, there will be NO way to address a letter as Dear Ms FIRST NAME. This is so dumb. 3) You don't get to decide which accounts you want to split or keep intact. Once you send over your conversion template, any and all names that contain an "&" or "AND" get automatically split into two accounts. This includes organization contacts. So if you have a business IE: Brown & Smith Attorney at Law, you are SOL. 4) I could not figure out why they had Organziation TYPE and Individual TYPE on each account. In my experience, and account is either an ORG or an IND period but, here is the rub. YOU CANNOT add contact names to an existing ORG record. You have to create a seperate record and then link each IND to that ORG. So for multiple organizational contacts, they will be set up as INDIVIDUALS. The only way to sort out this mess, is to use the TYPE or ORG or IND. This is where you will list your indivuduals as say, BUSINESS CONTACT, CHURCH CONTACT, etc. This is a huge cluster &^#. Now I get why they don't let you sample the database before buying.

Our small non-profit organization has grown, and become more efficient and effective because of Bonterra. I am a grateful user!

Pros

It is very easy to use. Using Bonterra transformed our lists of names on paper into a tool that allows us to track gifts and other information from our donors easily. Sending news via email blast is a snap. I was afraid of all the work that using Bonterra would entail, but it wasn't hard. And now we have tools to manage our interactions with donors, consumers, and anyone who has shown an interest in our organization.

Cons

initially, data entering was cumbersome, but we received help with that, too.

### "THIS is how you fundraise"

5.0

From the customer service, onboarding and plug and play nature of this product, I can’t say enough about it.

Pros

It’s the perfect merger of a development system and communications platform for a small to midsize nonprofit. I have been a customer since 2016 and have brought BGF to two nonprofits and have recommended to several colleagues who were looking for an easy, accessible solution for their nonprofits.

Cons

I loved the data services plan which is being phased out and do hope there is a replacement for it soon.

### "Good but Technical"

August 16, 2024

3.0

It was a great system for a couple years, but we grew quickly and needed a system with more multi-faceted capabilities

Pros

Organized and efficient but needed more technical expertise with reports.

Cons

That more technical/IT staff needed to assist

### "Great product and would recommend this product to all organizations"

5.0

Overall, my experience has been enjoyable and kill building. The help desk and customer service have been a wonderful resource for me with any question that I have. They are responsive and quick to resolve any issue that I have.

Pros

Overall, this is a really simple software to use. As a new fundraiser and beginning of my career, this software has given me skills surrounding best practices in fundraising which I am immensely grateful for.

Cons

Some of the areas of the software are not as streamlined as I wish they could be and can often lead to duplicative work. I would like to see improvements to the in-kind feature of the program as it is very difficult to track these donations.

### "Just working out the kinks"

5.0

The more I learn the more I like. Now that we are getting into accepting and recording snd acknowledging new donations, I’m liking it more and more.

Pros

Communication tools are the best! I look forward to using them more. We’ve gotten great feedback on the video emails. I’ve done 2 IIndividual video emails and the a groups video to over 200 donors. So far the response she was great.

Cons

Onboarding was difficult. Although your staff was helpful. Our organization had run of excel spread sheets. The system was working but becoming unwieldy. Transferring this over with donation years back to 2015 was difficult. Also, not allowing us to filter by our external ID that we consistently used meant many duplicates due to some differences and a system with less than half with emails. I think we are better but to even see our ID I have to click and scroll to find snd the only way to double check for duplicates is to export a spreadsheet. Makes me wonder why you didn’t give us a way to use it. Sorry. I have sent a suggestion in but told you only let us put in the contact info but not be able to filter with this.

Reason for choosing Bonterra Network for Good

The communication tools are so easy and easy to access. With Do or Perfect they are an add on. Hate to say, but they use external ID numbers as another way to link donations and identify donors

Hey Gale, thanks for taking the time to review us! It's really exciting to hear that you've gotten such a positive response from your video messages - sounds like great fundraising on your part! As for your onboarding, I'm sorry to hear that we missed the mark. There are several ways to check for and merge duplicates, and we know it is a thorough process if you are self-onboarding (especially with 8 years of data!). If you reply here or send me an email, I would be happy to set up some time with our onboarding team or customer support :) With that said, I have a feeling you will continue to like it more and more! Keep up the great work - Kathleen

### "Indespensible to any nonprofit organization!"

February 8, 2024

5.0

My overall experience with NETWORK FOR GOOD was fantastic, 10 out of 10. I am glad that I can still access the familiar Network for Good platform. I have signed up for a Bonterra webinar and hope that it demystifies the new company.

Pros

It helps us stay organized and tracks trends. Information about our donors and their giving history is at our fingertips in an easy-to-use format.

Cons

Frankly, I was (and still am) confused by the takeover of Network for Good. Bonterra seems less personal, more complicated. Also, our cost went up significantly. I am going to try to negotiate this price increase.

### "An Affordable Solution to Fundraising and Marketing for Small NonProfit"

February 15, 2024

4.0

Our relationship with NfG has made the whole process of managing donor communications, tracking giving patterns, and monitoring financial fluctuations so much easier. In addition, we have learned so much already from working with them over the past couple of years. We are exciting to be entering a new level of support with our Fundraising Coach!

Pros

As a small nonprofit providing a critical service to our city's homeless and economically insecure population, we have struggled to develop an affordable fundraising/marketing plan. Our budget has not allowed us to hire either a FT or PT marketing specialist. We learned that Bonterra could match us with a Fundraising Coach who is helping us develop our strategies, prioritize tasks, monitor success, and adjust our planning. They do all this for a fraction of what it would cost us to hire a specialist. This is a win-win for us, as it is boosting our donor base while educating Board members with no background in this critical area. We explored purchasing similar services from competitors in the field, and found Bonterra's package and personal to be more accessible and affordable. In addition, NfG responds quickly to inquiries and requests. Their service personnel are both professional and personal.

Cons

The amount of resources available on their site can be overwhelming to navigate. The number of options is impressive, but sometimes we need more guidance on using them. Again, however, this is where our coach will be invaluable.

### "Network for Good "

September 21, 2022

4.0

Our overall experience with Network for Good is very positive. We usually send a physical newsletter out in summer, but we just had too much on our plate this summer. Network for Good allowed us to make the decision to pivot and I was able to put together an email blast in far less time and without the expense of the mailing.

Pros

In my role as executive director I like to know a lot of metrics. Network for Good provides a wide range of reporting options allowing me to hone in on exactly what I am looking for. I also appreciate that I can create my own tasks, enter notes on recent donor interactions and even upload images of thank you notes I have sent to donors. This is especially helpful before I make the next contact. I can look up the note and be reminded that I spoke to a donor and they told me they have 3 cats. The next time I call them I can say, "oh, and how are the cats doing." It really helps to personalize and tailor the interaction.

Cons

I am disappointed that to fully utilize all of the new additional features we have to pay for the elite version. It is cost prohibitive for us as a small animal shelter on a limited budget. We recently mapped our Network for Good with Quickbooks online. This has reduced a lot of redundancy, but a con is that I lose visibility to some detail so still have to go into both systems if I need to see the detail.
