The platform has become better and better. I would love to see more benchmarking (use the data from your client base) to help companies make better choices. That would be value added. Pros Perfect for our size of company. I really like the fact the Bamboo has grown its features without losing its ease of use. I would suggest the value for money is strong. Customer service is very good also. Love the reporting, super easy. There is of course some reporting I would love to see (churn by position for e.g.) Cons Some of the features could be more developed. The recruitment feature set is pretty immature. I do not like that we were force onto a new level which increased our costs. However the value is still good. I could not wait to get the approval to return to BambooHR and move on from the other system! I will always recommend BambooHR Pros Bamboo is super user friendly for all of it's capabilities. The road mapping of approvals makes it so that no one is 'left out' or not in the know when it comes to time off, new hires, exits etc. Cons At this point, there isn't much that I don't like about BambooHR. I am based in Canada so some features are not available, but that is okay with me. It has a logical layout, gives the reports I need, has robust payroll, timesheet, and performance systems. Pros Payroll is easy in BHR. There are good payroll reports, so I can check my numbers and deliver them to my manager for approval. It's easy to change a payroll parameter on the fly if I need to add, modify, or delete something -- and then re-run the report. The system also keeps me informed about items I need to know, like the potential effects of OBBB on payroll. I can also add notes for specific payrolls, like "no medical deductions since this is the 3rd payroll this month." For timesheets, I like the fact that payroll is not directly tied to timesheets. Sometimes folks don't complete their timesheets in time for me to run payroll. Gladly, I don't have to hold up payroll waiting for completed timesheets (FT folks). In addition, I can approve multiple timesheets at once - which saves some time. The performance questions are pretty self-explanatory and easy for staff to navigate. I like how the system alerts Admins as to who and how many staff have completed annual enrollments. Cons There are lots of clicks if I want to individually approve timesheets. It's annoying how many clicks there are for the task. I actively avoid approving timesheets until everyone has their timesheets completed, in order to avoid being annoyed. A certain part of navigating Goals is not intuitive. I'm thinking of the suggested goals that pop up. If you don't click the right thing, the suggested goal disappears. In some instances, folks have looked at the goal and simply wanted to close the screen and think about whether to use it. But the goal \*poof goes away! I am still not sure how to get the suggested goals to re-appear. This may be operator error: our employees can see and change their retirement elections in BHR, but BHR is not the correct place to make those changes. They should instead make the change in the retirement portal. But if someone forgets, they could change it in BHR without officially changing it for real. Fortunately, I can see that change when I run payroll - but I would like some stop gap that either prevents employees from making the change in BHR or an emphatic note that tells them what to do. It's user friendly, wasn't intimidating for managers or employees, and has provided us with everything we need. We switched to BambooHR payroll this year and are already seeing the benefits. Pros Implementing BambooHR for our "HR department of one" was a game changer. It allowed me to provide consistency in so many areas including onboarding, employee files, and job posting. The time savings was incredible. Cons I think the performance review section could be a little more user friendly. We want to encourage managers to do reviews ahead of time; therefore, we want to remind them prior to the anniversary date. The system doesn't remind managers and start the 30 days clock until the day of their anniversary. Pros I love the ease of use for our employees. Seeing their time off, paychecks, their benefit enrollments, our ORG chart, and making announcements is easy. Onboarding/Hiring is streamlined, as well as posting job ads and reviewing resumes directly from BambooHR makes business operations less stressful! Cons Setting up benefit open enrollment can be a little tricky, but overall is a great feature. Employees have mentioned they would like to be able to see their paystubs at least a day before they get paid. Being able to track my projects as well as add collaborators has been a wonderful perk of the software. Pros BambooHR is super easy to use. Being able to see all your PTO hours in one place makes tracking things very simple. I am also a huge fan of the Goals section where I can add projects and breakdowns of what benchmarks need hitting and when. I also like that I can tag colleagues when collaborating on projects so we all are on the same page. Cons For me, the limit of 10 item breakdowns per project goal sometimes cause an issue and I have to do multiple goals for the same projects because I run out of boxes. The phone app also bugs out occasionally and I will have to reload it before I can log in or out.
