The easy to share, connect, and work on the same document as others in real time makes this software stand out especially. Pros The workiva application is one of the most user-friendly universal reporting and data connection services I have used before. They offer free training videos on how to properly use the application and get the most out of its vast functionality. Cons There are some limitations to what you can easily connect in the application, and I did catch myself having issues with connecting sources in some of my reports. Some examples are the background view of colors and the inability to download several files with one click rather than one file at a time. As for the Excel format, the inability to review calculations and formulas in the tool is a huge issue, as that is necessary to ensure accuracy. Pros It is a great tool for tracking a number of tasks, projects and assignments. Cons The inability to review Excel files with formulas and calculations and not able to view in a better format. Cons One of the disadvantages of this software is it's historical data view option. If your original data was filtered then when you review an older version then you won't be able to unfiltered the columns to see the hidden cells as the file becomes completely uneditable. It is utilized for quarterly reporting as well as annual audits. The ability to seamlessly integrate financial data with established word templates without affecting formatting is a difficult thing to accomplish, but WDesk has succeeded. Setting up templates to pull specific financial data can be a length/cumbersome task, but one that is well worth it! Pros Audit templates rolled forward with the ability to build in financial statements seamlessly Cons Setting up the templates and linking specific financial data is a very cumbersome task.
