### "Great Platform, Great Service, Great Price"

July 4, 2019

5.0

I can't say enough about the support from ChurchTeams and I also appreicate their willingness and ability to implement almost everything we have requested or figure out a work around that meets our expectations. They are also always improving the software and releasing updates often and they listen to the ChurchTeams community.

Pros

ChurchTeams is extremely functional. It has everything and more than many of the major players in the ChMS market. Church to Text is an excellent example. Their support and service is second to none. They are very responsive to enhancement requests and assistance with reports and any aspect of their system. Also their price is extremely economical.

Cons

I can’t really say there is anything I dislike. One of the things I mentioned to them was to enhance the GUI interface to have the slick feel of some of the newer platforms. In my opinion ChurchTeams has always been about function over aesthetics but I do know they are currently working to improve the GUI interface.

Reason for choosing Churchteams

A major factor came down to price and the fact we were already familiar with ChurchTeams and their support is second to none. When we were talking with ChurchTeams about converting to their platform completely there was some functionality that we needed that didn't exist in the software. Their development team committed to implementing the functionality we needed and it was rolled out just before the completion of our migration and it works exactly as discussed and meets our needs. I can't say enough about how they take care of their customers!

[ACS](https://www.capterra.com/p/2668/ACS/)

We were approached by ACS about switching to Realm so we decided to evaluate ChMS systems rather than blindly switching because we had been with ACS for so long. We have been using ChurchTeams for over 8 years for adult groups as a supplement to ACS because ACS lacked functionality that we wanted that ChurchTeams had. Since we had been with ACS for over 20 years it was tough to get buy in from all of our staff but we finally made the decision to fully switch to ChurchTeams and drop ACS. ChurchTeams Online Giving and payment options are also EXTREMELY competitive in their rates and have saved us tens of thousands of dollars over our former online giving provider.

### "Responsive and always growing in functionality"

April 26, 2022

5.0

I love the CT team and the way they honestly try to help us do more ministry!

Pros

I love that the team is always willing to help you figure out how to do something if you don't know. If the software can't do it, they take suggestions and implement many of them pretty quickly. I love the CT team!

Cons

The only thing I wish CT would do that they don't do is offer offline options. Meaning there is no local saving of data for when you don't have access to internet. Of course this is not as big of an issue today as it would have been 5-10 years ago, so I recognize this as probably just an outdated mindset.

### "Get's the Job Done- But Quirky, Clunky and Not User Friendly "

May 28, 2019

2.0

Pros

Overall Churchteams meets several needs for our organization at a price point that we can afford. We use church teams to - Keep track of member information - Capture information and follow up with first time guests - Kids' ministry check-in -Volunteer check-in - Managing Volunteer Teams - Small groups rosters - Keep track of people's discipleship journey (taking Next Steps). I love the fact that Church teams allows us to make notes shepherding between multiple pastors, elders and small group leaders. The same goes for Guest Follow Up. Church teams allows us to keep the follow up process running smoothly.

Cons

Clunky user interface. Navigation of the menus and features of church teams feels like just a mountain of black text on a white background. It's hard to locate the things we need when we need them. Use of color and/or icons could make this more user friendly. I know Church Teams CAN do so many wonderful things but often it is a headache to figure out HOW to get Church Teams to do it. Setting up check-ins has way to many steps and crazy variables. Making us manually resize images and enter their html in order to get our logo to appear on name tags doesn't feel like something I as the user should be doing. The same goes for having us program our own booleans to print silent and format margins and download archived editions of Mozilla Firefox in order to run it on a Mac. We use the "Groups" Feature to do many things beyond just organizing small groups. We keep track of volunteer serving teams, outreach events and discipleship classes. However when creating a new "group" it's really time consuming to have to enter all the different required fields that really aren't applicable to all types of Groups. For example Serving Teams don't need a meeting time or location because they always serve Sunday Mornings at the church but the time varies from team to team and service to service. It's really pointless and time consuming to need to enter that information for all Groups when the majority of Groups don't require that type of information.

The Search page that you login to is in production now and should be rolled out soon. I think you'll find it a huge improvement in many of the areas you mention. Thanks for taking the time to do this and feel free to stay in touch with us on this stuff directly as well.

### "My staff loves Churchteams"

April 14, 2022

5.0

I have found it a joy to work with Churchteams. They are always willing to take the time to explain how the software works, and they have a reason why it is the way it is that is focused on the heart of shepherding the church. Such a refreshing change!

Pros

My staff has found Churchteams very easy to use and is so much more comfortable with this software compared to our old church management system. Churchteams deals with everything as a group, and it makes it so easy to set up any kind of group. Running reports is also so much less intimidating and the staff is willing to do it after being shown once. That is so freeing for my job!

Cons

Exports to excel are lacking from some views. We can copy and paste the information, but reports do not have an export to excel option, and that is what my staff is already in the habit of using. I have to explain once a week that they can copy and paste the data out of the view they are looking at if they want to edit a spreadsheet.

Reason for choosing Churchteams

I asked 12 other churches what they used and why, and I asked if they liked it. All the answers I got were along the lines of "We use X. It works, but it isn't great" except for 1. "We use Churchteams, and it is fantastic!" My friend was enthusiastic about using Churchteams and she is not a techie person, but she was talking about all the options she had and how Churchteams took their ideas and implemented what they needed.

### "Excellent Groups Management Software"

February 21, 2020

5.0

We use Churchteams to track all of our data for groups. It helps us keep track of the metrics that drive group health and it helps us maintain consistent communication with our group leaders. As our number of groups has grown, Churchteams has become more and more vital to our groups management. On one hand, this is due to the volume of information that is being tracked, but it's primarily due to how effective we've found Churchteams to be.

Pros

The things that I like the most about Churchteams are its versatility, their customer service, and its overall effectiveness. Churchteams is helpful for everything from getting people registered for groups to facilitating communication in groups at every level (from group members, to leaders, to coaches, to pastors - whatever levels you need). I primarily use Churchteams for our small groups ministry, but the software also offers other church management options, including giving and event check-in. I've also never worked with an organization that was as committed to serving me as a consumer and pastor. We once had an issue with check in for which I submitted a service request a few days before it would be needed.\[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] called me to try to help me solve the issue and when we couldn't, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] was prepared to call me while he was on vacation to make sure we got the issue sorted out in time for the event (thankfully we figured it out before he had to call me). I will also get periodic emails from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] informing me that he is praying for me. I believe they make it a practice to pray for all of their clients. In terms of their effectiveness, Churchteams has helped us grow our small groups ministry from a dozen groups to 36 groups and add over 200 people to groups over the last 6 years through the ease of communication, assimilation, and website integration (among other features) that their software offers.

Cons

My biggest complaint is that generating reports with this software isn't very intuitive. Many times I have to experiment with various options to find the data that I want. It's also not the most aesthetically pleasing interface.

Switched from

We briefly migrated to FellowshipOne for a time because we believed it would be more robust, however we quickly discovered that Churchteams was not only equally robust, it was far more user-friendly. We switched back within a year.

### "Fantastic product, fantastic team"

October 1, 2019

5.0

Our team is genuinely excited to learn how to use this product. So many of our staff were simply fed up with the former system and many were outsourcing various functions to other products because they system was simply not user friendly. That becomes a nightmare for trying to compile usable data on a holistic level, which is NECESSARY to assess the health of the body, the ministries, or any parishioner in a church our size. And, again, the Churchteams team is beyond compare.

Pros

The ease of use is the top of the list of what I like most about Churchteams. It's simple, but so powerful. It's also one of the most affordable options and the customer service has been exemplary. Executive has been with us every step of the way, Executives are always available to answer questions and their help and expertise with the data conversion was priceless. Our team is actually excited to use it and they are learning quickly how to navigate everything.

Cons

Honestly the only drawbacks in my opinion are relate to the search function as it relates to our former product. We have a large congregation and a LOT of records. In our former ChMS (the one that must not be named - if you've used it you know exactly which one I'm talking about) we could search by partial first AND partial last name simultaneously. In Churchteams regardless of whether you're doing a people search or a merge or whatever it is, it will search as you type, but it will only search one partial name at a time. It's an inconvenience at worst, but it is something I hope they consider implementing in the future because it really does help immensely with you have, for example, nearly 500 Smiths in the database.

I spent MONTHS comparing the options I listed. ### "Best Church Management Software"

February 18, 2020

5.0

CT support is always super fast and they always have the solution right at their fingertips. Their knowledgebase almost always has exactly what I need, and when it hasn't, my email requests for help are answered lightning fast. I am always paying less per year than I expect to, and they constantly make the service better without jacking up my costs. I wouldn't even consider making a change.

Pros

ChurchTeams facilitates communication better than any any CMS I've ever seen (and lets be honest - It's all about communication). They have an amazing email editor that you can use to create and send amazing looking email (as good or better than MailChimp), create email templates, and saved emails for sending using automation. They offer text-to-church and text-to-church functionality that makes giving and inbound communication a cinch. This software makes this solo pastor look like he has a first rate administrative team!

Cons

I cannot think of anything that I don't like, have complained about in the past, or wish I had that they don't already offer. This software meets more needs that I currently have.

Reason for choosing Churchteams

Super high quality and functionality - a price tag I could handle - expandable database based o the size of church, not about of functionality used (CC processing excepted) - tools designed to help me get stuff done and communicate well.

Switched from

[Claris FileMaker](https://www.capterra.com/p/162784/FileMaker/)

I was using a custom designed CMS that used the FileMaker platform, and before that, some other system that kept data (like a phonebook) but both really didn't do much more than enable data entry, print labels, or export data for a mail merge. If I wanted higher function, I had to pay a great deal more and it just wasn't worth it. ChurchTeams hit every mark and more for me, and I've never looked back.

### "The Best Overall Program"

September 20, 2019

5.0

Previously, we had a very simple church management system that did not meet even half of our needs. Church Teams has revolutionize the way we run our office, and all of our ministries and outreach. What’s more, they respond to questions quickly, and they take suggestions very seriously as we’ve seen updates and improvements reflect our requests from the field. We LOVE ChurchTeams and highly recommend!

Pros

Church Teams covers every area of software and programming that our church could ever imagine needing. From security and children’s check-in to data management, giving, small groups, volunteer scheduling, and event registration, anyone we introduce it to comments on how easy it is to use.

Cons

Our initial transfer of information seemed clunky, but that turned out to be our own mistake.

### "Fantastic for what we use it for, about 15 years behind in tech"

February 21, 2020

Pros

We love the prayer email functionality of it. All of our small groups get to include prayer requests with their attendance and that is why we use this program. That is the main reason! We also like that our users don't need to remember another username and password.

Cons

### "Churchteams database "

September 20, 2019

5.0

Pros

The ease of use and the aggregation of data that allows us to have what we need at our fingertips.

Cons

Only negative to me is that with online giving and text to give, a physical address needs to be required when first setting up the account. We send a follow up email the the giver requesting the info but that doesnt always work in practice. It would make it easier if we had the physical address from the get go available for giving statements at the end of the year.

### "User Friendly and Cutting Edge"

April 14, 2022

5.0

Honestly it has been very positive! The system is easy to learn, is very comprehensive, and is flexible enough to work for our many and varied ministries. The support team is top notch! That is SO important when learning a new software and even with day to day questions and issues. They respond quickly and are available to help in any way. We never felt left out to dry as we learned the software.

Pros

The great Reporting feature is vital to us. The need to extract the needed information whether it be for attendance, small groups, financial, etc. is SO important when ministering to our church family. The reporting is deep and wide...however it is also user friendly.

Cons

The volunteer scheduling feature doesn't exactly fit our needs. However...we do use a part of the volunteer scheduling. Church Teams makes it easy to adapt and adjust our needs with how the software works.

Reason for choosing Churchteams

\[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]. They are godly men who strive to minister to the local church. They want more of a partnership than a software company and user relationship. Yes, the software is top of the line, but it was important to us who we would be working with in the coming years. It was the best choice for us and we are grateful!

### "I love Churchteams and have been on it for over a decade."

April 15, 2022

5.0

The customer support has been fantastic, all the way back to when it was \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] and one programmer. We just rolled out text to registration and the support was fantastic. I asked if he would join our Zoom and he did immediately. He was patient, knowledgable, and helpful. My AV guy now feels much more comfortable with the system overall and we rolled out text to registration last week.

Pros

Ease of use. I'm not a techie and I can generally figure it out. We use our AV guy for the more techie portions.

Cons

can't think of anything. I can't think of anything. I can't think of anything.

Reason for choosing Churchteams

I think how I originally got connected was at my prior church when we did Purpose Driven Life. I think it was recommended at the time by the trainer. When our church closed and I moved to Gracepoint I recommended it. I don't know if the pastor had evaluated other options but he approved it and we got started. They are continually improving and expanding it. Thanks team!!

### "Great Value for the Money"

November 27, 2018

5.0

We have loved using Churctheams. They are constantly updating and improving the software. And their customer service is top of the line!

Pros

We love the amount of features you get for the price. We also love the integration of giving (both online and by text) with the system. It really streamlines our record-keeping. The online registration capabilities is also great! Their recent addition of automated Workflows has also added a ton of possibilities. We can easily track guests and other data points. There small group tracking capabilities are on point!

Cons

It doesn't sync with Planning Center, which would be very useful in keeping the data correct on our people. Sometimes, the way of doing things is a little odd as they have added many useful features to the software over the years, but because it was first built as a small group tracking software, the added features sometimes feel like they were forced into that architecture. They don't have a dedicated mobile app, and sometimes the mobile interface has glitches on phones.

### "A Good Fit for Our Ministry"

November 10, 2016

4.0

We chose ChurchTeams after a long search and evaluation of multiple Church Management Systems. We wanted a system that was not overly complicated, and that could be used by our leadership team. Church Teams has been a great fit and we are happy with our choice. Here are a few things that we like - Small Group Management is the leading feature for Church Teams. It does a great job integrating into our website, allowing people to search and signup for groups. It also helps us track participation in groups. Group leaders receive an email after their meeting, where they can track attendance, share updates, and list prayer requests. This keeps the group members and church leaders connected. - Children's Check-In has also worked well for us. It's fast and quickly allows us to track attendance for our children's ministry - Event signup and registration is another feature that we like and use frequently. - Finally, we really like the ability to have a password protected online church directory. Compared to other Church Management Systems, Church Team functions a little differently. Everything is setup as a group. Your ministry teams, your events, your assimilation pathway, and your classes are all setup as groups. Communication and tracking is done through adding and moving people between groups. Custom properties can also be added and tracked. Overall, Church Teams has worked well for us, and the cost is cheaper than many competing products. We don't use the financial tracking features built into the software, since we do that through another system, but we use most of the other features. The interface is not as clean and easy to use as some of the other products on the market, but it's a good fit. It also doesn't take a huge amount of time to customize and setup. You can start using it quickly, and once you understand how it works, you can use it for more powerful functions. It's not the right fit for everyone, but for us, we have been pleased.

### "Good strong company"

November 27, 2018

5.0

This is our 7th year with Churchteams & we could not be more satisfied. From the very beginning with set up, it has been remarkably easy to use. All of our group leaders use it, our staff, and our weeklly money counters. There was an immediate night & day difference from the company we used previously to Churchteams. We like the customer support, the fair price, ease in using it for everyone, safe & confidentially sound, and easy to use reporting system. Early this year we started using the online giving and text-to-give features and we are so grateful we did! We also recently started using the registration feature, which is easy to use and makes the admin portion of the events a breeze. Combine that with the text-to-give and it totally rocks. :) Something else we appreciated from the beginning is that we have never felt pushed into doing any of the extra features, such as the online giving, etc. One other cool thing is that every once in a while I get a message from one of the founders saying they were praying for our church & for me! I know God prompted their hearts to pray each of those times, since there was a definite need for it, AND we felt those prayers!

Pros

Churchteams' support is incredible! We've always had superior & prompt answers to questions. The founders of the company have been good at making sure our needs are met & we get the full potential that Churchteams has to offer...whether it's hearing directly from them, or the helpful webinars & training videos.

Cons

I honestly cannot come up with one! They have exceeded all of our expectations.

### "Great software for mid-size churches"

September 24, 2019

4.0

Churchteams is our church database. Its holds all information. All programs are registered using online forms for efficiency and accuracy. Checkin for all days/types of programs are done through it (whether nametags are needed or not). All attendance for all programs can easily be kept. We use it to schedule all volunteers as it is easy to see when their are conflicts or doubke-bookings.

Pros

Very easy to use. It is simple to get started as most of what a church needs to do is ready to go. Has the capabity to manage donations (we do not use this feature) and to do online registration (which we use all the time). Makes checkin to programs seamless and easy. It's very intuitive which makes training easy. Has helpful features like email and texting through the software and texting parents through the checkin system during programs (which is very handy). This software is great for churches or organizations who dont have a dedicated data entry or IT department!

Cons

If you want to do a lot of customizations then this software might not be right for you. The reports can be a bit cumbersome to run and, also, have limited customizations.

Reason for choosing Churchteams

Ease of use.

### "Best software yet for communicating with your church!"

April 22, 2022

5.0

Met \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] at a conference back in the day and in conversations, I knew this is where we had to go. As a former software developer, I almost felt like Churchteams is what I would have created if I'd made it myself. As a Senior Pastor, I was so happy to introduce it to my staff and the support in conversion and beyond has been amazing. My staff loves it...

Pros

Ease of communication, the group setup and tracking, great cloud based member directory

Cons

I wish there was an app that just put everything at my fingertips with really easy navigation. I don't use it on my phone, only when in the office

Hi Luke, thanks for taking the time to do this report. If you want access on your phone, there's a link on the login page to show you how to save the login link to the home page of your phone. It's really easy to do and gives you full access to everything right from your phone! It's not an Apple or Google product, but really is a web app you can use anywhere.

### "ChurchTeams has it all"

June 3, 2019

5.0

Churchteams has been amazing for our church. The support is phenomenal and fast. It has allowed us to stay organized, keep track and automate some things that would otherwise take a lot of time.

Pros

ChurchTeams has every function, report, registration attribute, and so much more that you could want in a database. It is a great way to keep track of people and their involvement and communication.

Cons

I wish there was a way that there would be an easy mode and advanced mode. Churchteams seems to be overwhelming to many people, and it would be great if there was a mode that would take away some of the advanced features.

Hi Jessica, Thank you for the review. I like your idea of easy and more advanced. We're getting ready to rollout a new User Interface on the first screen you login to that is designed to simplify and speed up access to the features the login person needs. I'd love your feedback when it's out there. Thanks, Boyd

### "ChurchTeams is a solid CRM for churches with a lot of helpful features."

February 15, 2018

4.0

Solid database and information management for our local church.

Pros

The pricing structure is good, based on the size of the church. It's nice to be able to login and find member or attender information quickly, or segment reports based on criteria (e.g., what class a person has taken or not taken). They keep adding functionality over time making it more and more useful. It has come a long way in the 5 years since we started with them and now can handle about everything we would need it to and then some.

Cons

The layout and look are a little lacking, but that is superficial. I don't like how they call anyone in the system a 'member' when as a church we have 'members' and various other levels of involvement (attenders, etc.). Keeping it 'clean' and to a manageable size has not been easy since someone who visited one time will stay in forever unless you remove them. But it's possible we are not handling this the best way.

Thank you for this review. I especially appreciate your perspective over 5 years of use. Innvation is a constant value for us. Great point about the word "member". We do use it in 3 different ways depending on context: 1) person in database, 2) church member, 3) group member. Blessings, Boyd

### "Very happy with Churchteams"

April 14, 2022

5.0

Very happy.

Pros

This software does all we need. We are more than a church, we are a ministry and have many functions. Churchteams handles all of it well. Income tax receipt giving is a breeze and very easy to use. The customer support is second to none. They are very friendly, answer back in a very timely manner, and are quick to fix all problems encountered.

Cons

Might be a little on the expensive side, but probably not different then other's of the same degree.

### "Ok, but kind of hard to use."

June 19, 2018

4.0

Pros

It is useful for allowing several users within a large church to communicate with their own teams via cellphone or email. It does get the job done and the latest update made signing in a bit easier. So, it does appear that they are responsive to feedback.

Cons

I don't have another system to compare this one with but I found this system hard to use myself. I would try to set up a template so that I wouldn't have to keep retyping introductions to new members. Somehow, it didn't always save and I would have to redo it. I think that someone else had access to change what I had written maybe, so each time different people would type up a template it would save over what the previous user wrote. The problem I have with that is we all had our own logins and supposedly separate groups so this shouldn't happen. I also had a hard time adding or removing people from the email lists. I also found it hard to use update my password. It ended up saving more than one and it was hit or miss on which one it wanted to me sigh in with.

### "New Features all the time"

May 21, 2019

5.0

Set up was easy, training was time consuming but worth it. We love that everyone can have it on our phones and the children's check-in is very easy after initial set up.

Pros

It's easy for our leaders to use. We've used software in the past that's only accessibly to the office, this is accessible (in levels) to everyone. We get leader participation and it even links a list of our groups with leader contact onto our website. Children's check-in and giving are used weekly. We also use the check-in (without label printing) to take attendance of adults in worship. We take attendance in small groups, too.

Cons

We would love it if we could combine daycare/school options found in other programs like ProCare so that we had one database. We'd also love to add a section for outreach so that we can track how many people we serve in our pantry or meet on the street.

### "Multiplying Social Impact w/Churchteams"

December 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

The CT team listens to its users! I believe this system is so perfect because not only are the CT team experts and passionate about what they do, they routinely make adjustments that support the end user.

Cons

CT advertises integration with PMM that advertisement I'm sure leaves most feeling like this is an added benefit. Although that is partially true, it's not completely true. Our volunteers pay for their own screening costs. For organizations that have an App pay PMM account, it's not possible to integrate the two. Additionally, if we were to take on the cost of paying for the volunteers, the $19.95 fee that the volunteers pay becomes $26/ volunteer for us - According to the PMM team. I was very disappointed to find this out.

### "ChurchTeams with the win for group management system"

February 1, 2019

5.0

I have been using ChurchTeams for just over a year now. It has helped me really gauge the health of my ministry and improve my processes in getting people connected. I really appreciate the training CT has provided for me and my team.

Pros

For my ministry, reporting tells me so much. I have used other systems in the past, but ChurchTeams (CT) has by far the best reporting. They are ministry first guys and really care about getting you the help you need. Team rocks!

Cons

It may not be as pretty as some other software out there. The user interface could use a little help.

### "Love Churchteams"

November 30, 2018

5.0

Outstanding experience! Reps are great guys. I have spoken to both of them over the years and always have great customer service and they quickly answer my questions or fix my problem. We use the online giving platform and text-to-church also. They have great webinars to show you how to use their product as well as a great information resource page. The cost is very minimal for everything you get!! Thankful I chose Churchteams for our church!

Pros

The easy of use to input data is wonderful. The system is very forgiving if you entered anything in wrong, it is very easy to fix it. Their customer service is amazing! Our church has used churched teams since 2013. I don't see us switching anytime soon.

Cons

There is nothing that comes to mind that I don't like. Not that this is something that I dislike, but the information output is only as good and the information input. Churchteams is a huge "excel" spreadsheet. So whatever info you are trying to get there is a way to get it. You just have to put your information in correctly.
