Fantastic sales and training reps, very robust product and the people who designed it and work with you know fundraising and the particular needs that come with the field

Pros

I love it's easy to use interface, how linked everything is, the ability to track prospective gifts and how it seamlessly interfaces with our website. Also, that online donations automatically get batched to the user's account.

Cons

there are a few quirks on limitations with reporting and social fundraising but they are totally things you can work with to get creative.

Pros

It's nice to be able to keep donors in one location and run reports on efforts. Gives a good overview of funds received.

Cons

A little complicated to set up your criteria for forms and profiles. Limited design abilities without adding additional services and costs. Does not offer webpages to promote the Foundation, so additional web services must be contracted from another vendor.

It's not the best software but it's also not the worst

Pros

Simply put, NeonCRM does what it advertises: holds constituent data. It's nice to have a cloud based platform with unlimited users, and their knowledgebase is very robust.

Cons

If you're looking to customize your platform to the smallest details, this is not the platform for you. It's unfortunate that you aren't able to customize all of the front-facing pages. And if you do, you need to be knowledgeable in HTML/CSS.

### "Headaches Releaved"

After 2 nightmarish contracts with two separate inward-/outward-facing database platforms, this was a breath of fresh air. It works right off the rip, the training videos are actually helpful, if you can get through them, and there was no pressure from sales; no contract. They know what they're good at and integrate other systems for things that have better, more specialized products like, Eventbrite, Quickbooks and Mailchimp, and consolidates the data. The whole team can actually use it rather than feeling like data-entry drones.

Pros

The integrations with Eventbrite and Mailchimp allow us to use the best of everything without having to manage lists in every direction or hiring an IT guru. We talked through our existing (and very messy) data with a data rep from the platform. She talked us through how we needed to clean and modify it for this particular system, including recommendations based her knowledge of the different form fields and feature, and then we uploaded it based on the mapping she set up, and were able to easily modify once we had everything ready to go live

Cons

It's not as flashy or designed as well as some others, but it works! The only other issue would be if we wanted to connect organization accounts and contact accounts in the upload. We could have asked for a custom import, or manually connected the accounts, but since the system search includes scanning the org field, we can search for one org and all the contacts who have it listed as their company pop up anyway, which is all we need!

It has met our needs to register customers for programs and events and to track memberships and donations. It is user-friendly, and the data it provides is helpful.

Cons

We have had some issues with communication to customers directly through the software. It may be due to user issue though, so the aspect could be improved to be more user-friendly. Online support websites have been helpful though.

Pros

I like that it is a (relatively) cost effective CRM that is all web-based.

Cons

Working with tech support is a horrible user experience. The folks who make this software should read about Computer Mediated Communication and gain understanding about why CMC is ineffective. I have never had a positive experience with tech support, and typically receive a snarky e-mail response 24 hours after submitting a ticket which guides me to the online Q & A section...which is where I look every time before contacting customer service because it is a horrible user experience. I feel like I am not a priority to them at all.

It's fairly easy to use. I think there's always room for improvement.

Pros

I like that everything is one place and that reports are easy to pull. Data entry is easy. System letters and emails are nice.

Cons

I feel that customer service is not always available when needed. An online/instant chat would be REALLY appreciated for the quick questions that sometimes come up. The System Letters and System Emails Condition ranking is very confusing to me, I still struggle with it every time I update our letters.

Pros

The layout is extremely clear and easy to use. I didn't always have time to do the training videos but was able to figure out how to achieve my reports or email campaigns by simply following each screen and through a little trial and error. It's very user-friendly, and you can get to what you need in a few screen selections.

Cons

We can't edit existing accounts via upload without the NeonCRM ID. It would help if they system could give us an option to match records with last names and let us select. Also, when producing reports, it would be great if you could select more than one individual type.

We just wanted to let you know that you can absolutely choose more than one "Individual Type" on reports. Simply choose either "In Range of" or the "Advanced" selector from the query drop down option and you will be able to add multiple selectors to the query (e.g., equal, not equal, etc.). Please feel free to reach out to the support team if you have further questions about using this option. As for batch updating accounts without a NeonCRM ID, it can be a slippery and unpredictable slope that can lead to updating the wrong accounts. While it seems logical at first glance, depending on something like 'last name' (or even another combination of simple rules to reconcile updating account data) to distinguish one account from another can utterly ruin the integrity of your data. There is just no better way to do this than with a unique ID. It is the only thing that can insure your batch updates do not accidentally update that other "John Smith" by accident. People even use different email addresses, nicknames, addresses and more from time to time, so please trust in our genius developers who are obsessively compulsive about your data staying clean. Pros

The integrated payment processing is great--we're able to process refunds easily, maintain two separate payment systems, and export to our accountants easily.

Cons

The inability to email registrants for an event from the event registration page is unfortunate. Likewise, the inability to choose an existing email to send to an individual constituent from their account page is a frustration.

Pros

Neon CRM has good customer service with friendly and helpful representatives. The CRM does have basic integration capacity and CRM functionality. They will waive the monthly fee for PayPal Pro if you use it as your payment processing gateway.

Cons

This software is not remotely intuitive. It requires hours of watching video training guides and reading supporting documentation to become sufficiently oriented to the software. The design is very basic and unaesthetic, and the pricepoint is high for the value. There are extra fees for data migration, advanced support, initial consultation and the use of other modules.

Pros

We use Neon for everything! Forms, donations, events, emails, etc. It's not absolutely perfect for any one thing, but it's really great at all those things. For the value and the comprehensiveness, I'd recommend it highly! Plus, the customer service and help center are incredible!! So many resources and extremely quick replies. Very easy to work with.

Cons

Even if there isn't a capability for something I want to do one day, I love that Neon is constantly updating with new features. I know that I can request it and (with enough other people wanting the same thing), they'll be responsive and development solutions. So any cons aren't cons for long.

Pros

They were very helpful on the phone explaining what their software offers and helping me transfer my data. I like that the product is all encompassing for the donor. I like that this product can track donations, track events, and serve as our email newsletter provider also. I also think it is nice that the donor can create their own personal login and manage donations.

Cons

The product does not seem to have all the features I had with previous software. The main item I have not been able to do is to put a listing of all donations from a donor in a letter.

As both a user and as a consultant, I always recommend neon for any client who needs a self-service solution. I have not seen anything in the market that compares to the ability to create an online form for registrations, donations, memberships, constituent access and use. In addition, the modules are all there for running a nonprofit - from the store, to events, to volunteers, there is a module and the cost for all of them is not significant.

Pros

the online forms creation is unmatched. The depth of the product is excellent and the reporting can give you what you need to get the data from the system.

Cons

The volunteer module. You can't delete applications and projects. It is the weakest part of the system.

Pros

This product ticks all of our boxes. Events management, member & donation management and communications all in one platform. I love the integrations with Quickbooks and Mailchimp too!

Cons

Because this is such a powerful CRM database, there are a lot of layers & options. That isn't a bad thing. It's just the nature of the beast. The learning curve is pretty steep. However, the knowledge base is vast. I'm just usually in too much of a time crunch to use it. The helpdesk staff is phenomenal!

Overall we are happy with it the switch.

Pros

I like that all the features are in one place. We are able to publish an event and receive registrations and payments in one place. Integration was slow but we are there. The Paypal integration is very nice.

Cons

Each component person setting up an area (IT, billing, Marketing) has a learning curve. Additionally, for the type of event, it would be better to be able to drill down registration types more. For example, a supplier booth that includes two people w/out doubling the registration. I am sure that there is a way to do this. Working through the newness.

Pros

It makes searching and pulling reports somewhat simple so that I, a somewhat technologically inept individual, and my board members can pull reports when our Development Coordinator in unavailable. The dashboards are simple and clear. It makes looking at an individuals history easy and help to show relevancy between recents attendance and donations. And they provide VERY HELPFUL webinars!

Cons

It is very time consuming and tedious to watch all the training videos and very expensive to get training. For an organization as small as ours with our low budget that can make it difficult to use NeonCRM to it's fullest potential

Lots of features available. Customer service is pretty good. I love their guides, help center and the training and webinars that they provide.

Cons

It is difficult to use if you have never used a CRM system before. There is definitely a learning curve. I think it is bulky and not very "pretty" as far as the looks of it once published on your site or as the link.

Pros

\- Customer Service and Tech Support are helpful, responsive, friendly, and have addressed my concerns as well as pointed me to resources and set up extra training to make sure I get the answers I am seeking! - I love the reports functionality! You can customize your own to get whatever info you need, or you can run some of the common ones the system has pre-formatted for you. Super easy and helpful. - Managing and avoiding duplicates is really well addressed in this system. Since switching to Neon, I've been able to quickly address our pre-existing duplicates and to greatly reduce the number of new duplicates being created.

Cons

\- The interface can be clunky in certain places (especially editing forms/system letters), and sometimes this leads to a lot of tedious work to make something look the way I need it to. That said, Neon says they're currently working on a fix for this particular issue.

Pros

I love that I can run just about any report under the sun. Being able to see my membership data at a glance on the dashboard is also very helpful. Customer service has always been very knowledgable and quick to respond.

Cons

There is a huge learning curve with the program. You have to invest lots of time getting to understand the program and how to make it work for you. I wish there was a way for my members upload documents during their join or renew experience as we like to capture logos, headshots and we require they submit their IRS determination letter so I still have to use a 3rd party vendor for that. Also, I was hoping to do away with a 3rd party email marketing vendor, but the email function within Neon is not user friendly and the templates are outdated.

### "Top CRM for a Non Profit"

I personally reviewed and read reviews of many many CRM's to find what would work for our non-profit, for donor relationship management, events and volunteer management. It was an exhausting search and was narrowed down to three companies. Those three companies did a live demo for our Executive, Administrative and Donor Relations Directors. Even though Neon was up against stiff competition Neon CRM was the unanimous choice by everyone. The cost of setup, monthly cost, the ease of import, the upfront help to get you going and all the training material online and live sessions each month made the process so much less stressful. Since implementation I have asked questions of the support team several times and they are so very helpful, quick to respond and quick to resolve your issue or let you know if it was going to be delayed. We have saved several thousand dollars a year switching to Neon which allows us to put those funds toward our programs. The canned reports are wonderful and allow you to configure them if they are not just the way you want. The monthly updates to make the system and reports better is another reason to choose Neon, they seem to be on top of making the CRM better and better each month. We are new to doing paid events and the set up, and online registration forms were easy to set up and start using. A huge plus for me as the bookkeeper is the online donations and all the demographics are automatically posted to Neon which helps streamline my process. The bottom line is the user friendliness, ease of setup and cost lead us to Neon and we have not regretted the decision. From the software we were using that was so user unfriendly Neon has been such a wonderful change because I can come up with the data that is needed to build our relationships with our donors and that keeps everyone happy.

Pros

Currently, my favorite thing about NeonCRM software is their recent movement to update and improve on the software. Their informational videos are helpful in fully utilizing the software.

Cons

Creating campaigns and setting up an online store is very difficult and not intuitive.
