Horrible product at the end of the day. Great for when you need monitor tools, however, it's a huge tax on IT in learning everything.

Pros

Kaseya VSA is a good product. It offers a lot of choices and many different configurations and plugins that you can import from many different 3rd party vendors.

Cons

It's a mess GUI wise. Everything feels clunky and menus are not categorized right. Not only that, the remote tool is HORRID. It lacks a low latency feature such as Zoho assist. If your customer has a poor connection, expect key presses to be delayed and your words being typed wrong.

Cons

The only con i have to say is not everyone can afford it to be honest but knowing your customers are secure makes the whole difference

Flexibility, control and strong management capabilities.

Pros

Policy Management has been a big change to the way settings are enforced and monitored. Ease of use with KRC and LiveConnect Extensions has given our level 1 techs faster resolution times. The product has come a long way with integrations and the new Webroot integration is the easiest deployment of AV I've ever seen from Kaseya. Warranty Master is also a very useful integration.

Cons

There is a massive learning curve for my developers understanding some of the procedure development methods. It's very powerful but sometimes counter-intuitive for people with a background in common languages. Some settings that you would think would be under a certain module are hidden in other locations, but that's understandable given the development changes.

Nice to have the automation so I don't have to higher staff to due work that can be automated and repeated consistently.

Pros

It is a extremely flexible product, which allows you to make your own end point management tools, but you can also buy the scripts too. Lots of bolt-ons, so you can add as you grow your MSP.

Cons

Needs a bit of work on the remote control tool as it has limited tools on the remote control screen, but then you have to open another management tool for advanced functions. I would also like to see the permission cleaned up as you have to login to see what restricted users can see...not labeled well

### "License renewal horror story"

Pros

Was generally easy to use and met all of our requirements for management.

Cons

The software renewal and support is bad. I have had a ticket out in support for 2 months and was never resolved. The software then expired. They are trying to force me to renew a 1-year term before they will even consider looking at the support ticket again. They refuse to resolve the support ticket and I don't want to commit to a product that I can't be sure will work. I asked for 30 days to turn back on the license to give support a chance to help fix the issue but they refused. I even offered to pay for that month still no resolution. They say that there is a EULA that covers non working as intended software but the catch is that you still have to pay out your contract. (Even if its broken your still paying for it. Seems logical to me.) Its sad they treat their customers like this. The software is good the management team over there is bad.

I work with Kaseya every and it allows us to accomplish about 95% of what we would like it to do.

Pros

Kaseya offers a lot of modules and so includes a lot of features for managing endpoints. Kaseya is very reliable. Fairly easy to configure (in relation to the number of features you want to utilize, but if you have a lot of agents then it is well worth your time).

Cons

There are bugs in the software and sometimes update break things that were previously working well. Customer service is probably good for resolving issues for small or medium deployments on Kaseya VSA, but is not great for large deployments.

Overall Kaseya is a good product. I think there are better applications out there for the price, but for an RMM it does its job.

Pros

Probably the most convenient aspect of Kaseya is the number of features they provide. They make it very to customize the platform how we want to which makes it very easy to perform our job.

Cons

The interface for Kaseya is very outdated. Not that it makes managing our tickets anymore difficult, it just could be much cleaner which would provide a better experience.

We have saved a lot of time dedicated to working on each machine locally. Between remote installs and remote access it keeps out efficiency maxed out.

Pros

We make the most use of the ability to create scripts for automating day to day tasks such as installs or updates on the client machines. It has saved a lot on our man hours since we manage the entire District with one full time and one part time IT staff.

Cons

The only issues we've run into with the software is some issues with the earlier version of the KAV component. Many of the issues we had have been patched out of the system at this point however.

I use this software to maintain computers and servers on several different networks. VSA gives me one spot where I can connect to and maintain resources across multiple companies and locations. I am not sure how we would manage all these assets without Kaseya VSA.

Pros

Remote management of all computers and servers. This is the best feature. As long as they are online I can access and maintain all computers on my network without actually having to be in the office. I can also set alerts that e-mail me if a server happens to go offline, which allows me to quickly respond before there is any real employee time loss.

Cons

While it is very versatile, it is not very refined. It takes a bit to get acclimated to how it works. Kaseya provides training to help with this.

Pros

Fast, powerful remote control and scripting. Easy to use and understand scripting language. Through monitoring.

Cons

the VSA has had some rough spots in the past, but their renewed dedication to the product gives us hope they will keep up with their competition. There are still some bugs and occasional inconveniences/annoyances, but support is dedicated and fast to respond. I guess they're all doing this now, but some of the features that are nice to have are only available at an additional cost. Reliance on legacy technologies like Flash.

### "Tickets Made Easy"

Pros

The visual design of Kaseya is very pleasant on the eyes. Its so easy to spot tickets coming in from different queues, updates and more thanks to its smart design. I've used other systems with bland formatting that makes all your tickets blend together, this isn't the case with Kaseya.

Cons

It can be a bit cumbersome, but i think that came down to more of how my profile was configured, certain options were disabled, such as merging tickets. But a great feature to have.

Had endless issues with onboarding where nearly a dozen different people were involved and none of them seemed to work with the others. I had to reexplain what we paid for over the course of a year to get most of it done. Customer Rep is non-responsive and makes it nearly impossible to get more licenses. I never get what I want out of them until I complain and bring in executives at their company. If you want to wing it on your own and have no need to grow, this may be for you, but I don't have time to constantly fight with them to get what they promised us.

Pros

Fast remote connections, great customizing for automation. Great remote toolset so you can work without interrupting end users.

Cons

License issues constantly causing problems, support is hit or miss, AD discovery is completely broken, poor integration with AV products

I purchased Kaseya over 10 years ago. During the evaluation, I was concerned that I would make the right choice and not waste time and money on a mistake. Best decision I have ever made. It allows us to manage and automate like no other product can. Some other products have pieces of what Kaseya can do, but no one has it all. The scripts you are able to create give you the power to re-mediate, install & manage most things automatically. I love this program and would recommend to all. It is a huge reason for my continued success.

Pros

Scripting - Single biggest reason this software is so powerful Monitoring - Alerts - Remediation Automation Information quickly Remote control

Cons

Costly - But you get what you pay for Menus - They are working to standardize the UI

Pros

Reliable data delivery, but data quality insufficient for SAM (see "Cons").

Cons

Lack of functionality for Software Asset Management purposes (i.e. no edition information for certain products, which requires us to install additional agents to retrieve the full information required for license compliance). The concept of upvoting change requests does not work for us. As an enterprise with > 50,000 devices and a enterprise agreement I expect that our change requests are weighted differently. Change requests have not been considered for years.

Pros

\- Remote control is fast - Helps track assets. - Monitoring and scripts work well.

Cons

\- Too many modules that are not developed fully. - Focus on one thing and get it right not 100 things that are half finished, eg Software Management does not work properly. Ninite is a better product for this. - Cant copy and paste into Windows passwords fields. - Support tickets take too long to resolve, they ask to collect info and logs then end up escalating to senior engineers. Just escalate to the senior engineers first so they can fix the issues.

Daily connect to customer sites and help them with their issues. File transfer use to work but the last update seems to have broken this feature. It is easy to install for end users who are not tech-savy.

Pros

When it works it is easy to use as long as you assemble your connection structure carefully. Works in both IE and Chrome desktop edition.

Cons

Constantly have to uninstall live connect and reinstall. Seems the only way to maintain good connections.

### "Kaseya VSA - Powerful, but for the faint of heart"

Pros

As a Managed Service Provider we were initially attracted to Kaseya for its Windows patch management and Event Log monitoring. The powerful scripting agent has allowed for us to deploy software and patches quickly.

Cons

Over the years they have bolted on several features and while they have polished up the interface quite a bit the navigation is not intuitive and there are times where you might need to go to several places to get the information you need. The remote access tool to endpoints is slow and does not always connect so we ended up using something else that was more efficient. The canned reports need a lot of work before they can presented to a client.

### "Old technology with no changes"

We started with Kaseya over 8 years ago. At the time the product was good. It has slowly went downhill from there. Recently we decided to attend Kaseya Connect. We saw their CEO & other executives talk about things they wanted to do, but it seems to have ended there. We try to communicate this with our "account manager" but we don't even know who that is anymore as every few months that changes.

Pros

Remote Control feature is quick on systems no matter where they are. Also, the ability create and run Agent Procedures is awesome.

Cons

The software hasn't changed. They rolled out Live Connect years too early as it has been an application that couldn't be ran in production. They focus on new things like new backup & office 365 integration but the Core of their product is still terrible.

Kaseya provides us the ability to report on customer environments and also support them remotely via the Remote Connect.

Pros

Fantastic product that provides the ability to securely manage and monitor your managed service customers. We integrate Kaseya with IT Glue to give our MSA customers the peace of mind that their environment is not only easy to manage but is fully documented. Kaseya has helped us confidently grow our MSA business.

### "Power management tool "

I have been using this since 2013, there still a lot I need to learn, this program gives you a lot of opportunities if configured properly. You can have hosted or on premises either way it will cust you some change, you license per administrator and per agents.

Pros

This is a very powerful tool, you can set scripts, updates, manage networks and set alerts and policies for one interface.

Cons

It can be very complicated to set up, support is good but not over the top, there are a lack of reporting tools compared to what you can automate.

Patch management and remote control are Kaseya VSA's biggest strengths.

Pros

Policy management is great but it does not support KNM which limits our power and ease of management. LiveConnect is great for remote control but also feels half baked.

Cons

User interface and KNM not receiving the same attention as traverse. Other products have a been able to maintain and improve monitoring, notifications, dashboards, and the management of. Kaseya feels like it has been stagnant.
