I love making colorful charts and timelines. It's so easy and fun to use ! The hand drawn effect works very well with my brand image. Pros It's one-time paiement and is worth it. You can easily drag and drop icons. You can lock arrows and lines to objects so when you move the object, the arrow will move too. It's very good to create timelines, diagrams... I love the hand drawn effect : when activated, you can drag and drop the same icon, it will slightly differ. The icons can be colored, you can add fonts... I love the charts I'm doing with SketchWow. The customer support is very quick to answer. Cons Never enough icons ! I have the pro account, so there are more icons and they recently added more, but still. It lacks of an auto save feature. It would be nice to be able to use more than one color for some icons. I was sucked in by the low life-time price and then said yes to all the upgrades before even knowing what I was letting myself in for. I am truly grateful that I did. I genuinely will never make a presentation or video with another piece of software. To all of you at Team SketchWow - a truly heartfelt thank you. Pros I absolutely love the ease of use as I'm not a graphic designer, or a techie. It's very similar to other drag-and-drop graphics design packages out there which means as a psychologist, I didn't have to spend hours (or weeks) figuring it out in order to use it. I also really love the templates and the option to plug in some ideas you have and get the AI to develop a draft concept. This has come in really handy as I'm currently levelling up all the videos for my clients to make them less sciency and more user friendly so that the necessary foundational, sometimes complicated science slips into their subconscious enabling them to take the actions they need to take to pull themselves out of mental illness and back to a place of being happy. The hand-drawn and quirky looking graphics completely suit my brand and personality, plus enables my clients to understand that life doesn't have to be taken too seriously, even if you've experienced emotional trauma in your past. My clients have also commented on how easy the videos are to follow on, now they're not 'traditional' presentations. I definitely make a lot of use of the 'draw' function when animating, it is truly one of my faves! I also experienced their fantastic customer service first hand when my animations weren't saving for some reason (which was thankfully a user error rather than a programme error!). I have been using it pretty much every day for the last few weeks while I overhaul my video vault and I can honestly say, if I see a presentation, webinar or video not using this software I will feel sad for the person who created it. Cons It would be useful to have some more walkthrough videos about what the software can do. Somethings I found out on my own after I'd already done a couple of videos/presentations. I did watch all the ones available - that I could find. So perhaps, think about making them for complete novices/non-graphic design people in mind. There is a plethora of prebuilt templates and objects to choose from but it is equally easy to start from scratch and build your own drawings. Instead of offering subscription based plans you can get the software for a one off price and they update it regularly -for free!- with great new feautures. Cons It is a pity that you cannot create a library of your own drawings so you can easily re-open them for editing. Only the last couple of most recent creations are shown in an overview screen. Adding this would make it even greater, because now I have to go through my previous creations using a file explorer and that does not give me a preview of what drawing it actualy is. The range of templates covers everything you can possibly want, so even if you struggle with the conceptual part of the design, a very advanced starting point is easily available to you. The animation functions recently introduced take this app to yet another level. I cannot think of a single fault or issue I have had since signing up a couple of years ago. I find that 'audiences' appreciate something that looks a bit different and less formulaic that the standard PPT stuff, and SketchWow hits this mark brilliantly. The tool gets frequent free updates. Cons No issues that I can think of particularly. It is worth noting that the tool is frequently updated. Pros SketchWow is easy to learn and use with results that really… \*ahem\*… wow. Ithe software is different than other drafting tools and that means that it has some quirks— but since it is focused on being exactly what it is, all of the quirks actually lineup for a really nice workflow. I upgraded to the animate and the pro versions in order to get a more full experience. Cons They’re marketing was so good, I thought that the product was going to maybe be garbage. I decided to trust the 30 day guarantee today, since i was suspicious. Turns out the product really is that good— but there’s a catch. Also, I do a lot of YouTube videos for my AP students. I just did my first one using SketchWow and I love it. It helps you make smooth presentations, once again using the Zoom function. Cons I think the laser can be improved. It would be great if you can select the laser and have it stay active like you do in Notability. In fact, I was hesitant to review it because I don’t want competitors to find it and start using it. The things I like most about it is that it is crazy easy to use, it is heavily updated, the updates are often useful, the software isn’t trying to be everything to everyone, it is about making sketches (static and animated). It’s just a terrific piece of software. Cons My only worry is that as more people use it, the sketch templates will start to become cliche to the mind. For example, if people start using it to make diagrams of their processes, and use those processes in the marketing of their product, that people will see similar diagrams and their novelty will wear off. I don’t know if that makes sense. There are a lot of templates, and a built-in AI, but what I’d like to see is more variety in sketch template designs so that they all look very different.
