When we first contracted with Arts People (around 2017), the customer service and costs were very useful for our operations. We were assigned a specific support person, but by the second year we had it, we had randomly assigned support. The software remained stagnant as the support became less reliable; then, when Neon One acquired Arts People the fees increased without any improvements to the software or customer service. I appreciated their arts-focused service in the beginning, but I chose to leave because it felt as though the customers had become an afterthought.

Pros

I liked how Arts People did not require a long-term contract or monthly fees. I initially chose Arts People because of its affordability and fees based only on transactions.

Cons

When we first signed up, customer service was helpful, but it became more automated over time and the customer service declined significantly as transactional fees increased.

We have been with Arts people since before Neon One purchased them. We have enjoyed using the system.

Pros

Great customer service, usual response time is within in hours. they have an emergency number as well. Integration to our website was easy, they made it work with what we have and it was great

Cons

They have to do all coupon, pricing things. Sometimes confusing to put in coupon codes for our costumes

Pros

I like how easy it is to add the shows and events. There are options for font, size and color. You can upload photos for the online display. The box office portion is easy to navigate which is good for our senior staff.

Cons

Since most of our patrons are seniors and they try to use their mobile devices to purchase tickets they tend to have difficulty selecting seats. This does cause issues with having to submit refunds.

I had high hopes for using this software, and it has the capacity to do exactly what we had hoped. Unfortunately, the extremely unprofessional support and administration of this company make them their own worst enemy. From simple billing practices to tasks like checking their mail to receive checks, it is just maddening. Small Arts non-profits need a ticketing/donor management service just like this one. Unfortunately, all the aggravation is not worth the savings.

Pros

\- Affordable way to use assigned-seating ticketing for our small non-profit concert series

Cons

\- Many problems that require interaction with customer support - Rude customer support - Took months for them to believe me when I was trying to explain a problem. - Extremely inept invoicing practices - Reports generate misleading numbers because of the separation between NeonOne and Arts People

Overall, ArtsPeople is a very intuitive software with lots of friendly, reliable, and helpful staff to help fill in any gaps with the software itself. They're always open to suggestions on improving their product; and any of their flaws pale in comparison to their many virtues, which have proven extremely helpful during the last two seasons of unprecedented shifts in programming.

Pros

Very navigable patron and show income reports for tracking purposes. Ease of converting ticket purchases to gifts, vouchers, or refunds. Offers many different patron/campaign/donor categories to track different nuances of progress on the admission and contribution fronts. Customer service is also extremely prompt, friendly, professional, and helpful.

Cons

It's sometimes hard to track down certain retail items; also recurrent gifts often will take place without me receiving an email notification, which can sometimes cause a blind spot in my tracking abilities. Also, make sure to double-check before you finalize processing a donation or refund, as you can't simply edit erroneous transactions. Lastly, customers are prone to creating duplicate patron/donor files, which can make our database somewhat messy. But it's still navigable.

Reasons for choosing Arts People

My employer purchased it three years before I joined the organization, and I am currently the senior team member here. I believe its user-friendly platform, affordability, reliable and friendly customer service, and ability to maintain information via lots of data points influenced the purchase.

Excellent, the company is made up of people just like me. Theater, dance, and arts people (no pun intended) and IT people!

Pros

1-Very simple and easy exchanges (2 clicks!) 2-Season tickets ACTUALLY has its own chart for renewals 3-24/7 support that is very very fast and accurate 4-can design all tickets, CSS, and reports 5-logic for coupons 6-retail modules 7-powerful and simple to use 8-I trained my staff in minutes Much much more!

Cons

Very little. I have not found an area that they do not listen to their customers. The software is very fast.

Ticketing system was set up in 2-3 days by the Arts People tech team, and they provided ongoing support throughout the process as I learned how to navigate and customize the system. The amazing customer service allowed me to open ticket sales (and bring in revenue) while I was getting up to speed.

Pros

The software is a great fit for small and medium sized organizations that don't have a tech person on staff, but need robust functionality and reporting features. The customer service is the best I have encountered anywhere.

Cons

The software includes a mailing list function at no cost. I use this function frequently. My only complaint is that the software does not retain the emails sent through this system. I had an instance where an email did not process correctly, and in order to resend it, I had to retype the entire email. I now write the emails in a word processor, save the file, and then copy and paste to Arts People.

I feel like this service will help our ballet company continue to grow in the coming years and future. There are so many functions that I've been seeking in a Ticketing System but we just couldn't afford most the systems. Arts People is attainable to us and gives us amazing functionality that a lot of people pay thousands of dollars for.

Pros

Ease of use, Functionality on both the front & back end, Customer Service, Patron Pages, Patron Database, Flex Pass / Season Ticket package options, Ticket Add ons, Look and feels like our website, Box Office Options (Door Sales, Box Office Sales, Online Sales, etc), Exporting lists to Mail Chimp, Set up was a breeze with the help of the knowledgable staff, Quick responses from Arts People, Arts People Support...Everything!

Cons

Reporting, though I hear changes are coming soon in this area of the website. Searching for patrons was a little confusing at first (not a big con, but something I couldn't figure out on my own).

Occasionally another ticketing company will contact me, and I'll compare costs. Arts People is lower or about the same. Those with higher costs try to tell me about their more expansive services - and I don't use them or need them. Arts People is right for me and my venue.
