Pros I like how we get discounts at all fuel locations reguardless of the place. There isn't a minimum amount of fuel that needs to be purchased to receive that discount. It's honestly been great to see and working with a more modern company. The user interface is pretty intuitive overall with more advanced features available. I also have enjoyed how they have made sure to have most of our other systems under the integrations part. Makes transfering information more intuitive. Cons The app could be a bit better in some ways, but they just recently updated it, so maybe some of my issues have been resolved. They are very convenient and secure and between our office staff and field technicians, we are very happy with their services and product. Pros Coast offers great security for our office staff, when using multiple vendors and having multiple users. Expense management is also easy to navigate. Cons Sometimes, there is a delay when operating with a new card on the transaction processing. Multiple cards can be hard to manage, especially with the amount of drivers we have. Paired with Samsara I have been able to catch thieves within the company thus cracking down on fuel theft. Cons I wish there was a customer service phone number printed on the card. Coast is wonderful and we look forward to Pros Coast is extremely flexible and secure. They have eliminated external fraud for us, which was huge. The roll out was extremely easy. Cards don't need to be personalized to each vehicle or employee due to the unlock process. They are constantly evaluating and improving. Their app is great and they recently added a new fuel finder tab to help our drivers find cheaper fuel! Cons I don't really have anything negative to say about Coast. They are a great company with a superior product and excellent customer service. Pros The ease of use, the customer service, and the platform are top notch. My employees have had no complaints when using the cards and that helps me be more efficient. Cons I can't say I have any dislikes, but of course everyone has room for improvement. I would say more 24/7 customer service is always useful especially when we have employees working weekends and late shifts that may experience issues fueling. We're saving money, and recordkeeping is unfathomably easier. Everyone has a card tailored to their needs. The guys in the field get a gas/maintenance card, and the office staff get an expense card. In a pinch, someone can even log out and lend their physical card to another user and we still know who made what purchases for what vehicles. As much as I hate having people download YET ANOTHER APP, it's worth it. And people who are opposed to the app can use the SMS method. Pros There are a lot of pros. Customer service is great (for comparison, it's been over 2 months and I've had to file TWO BBB complaints about our previous card not closing our account and still charging us fees), setup was easy and intuitive, I can make tweaks instantly, and the website is easy to navigate. Statements are sent in spreadsheet form (I think you can choose PDF), so I don't even have to convert them. Expense tracking, expenses per vehicle, customization, individual permissions, vastly reduced fees compared to our previous card, and receipt and memo capture by the users. Any user can use any card for any vehicle without messing up record-keeping! Cons The main con is logging in - and having to teach people how to log in. A few guys have had a lot of trouble with it. I've had to drive over to a gas station to help a particularly difficult convert. If they don't already have one, Coast should make a tutorial video for card users. I actually once left my phone at Publix bc I forgot to log in until I was at the register, then just put it down... But the upside is the people with fewer restrictions don't have to keep their cards locked up - they won't work unless they're logged in. I have it set so that it logs out every night. I could change that, but I feel more comfortable that it makes fraudulent purchases harder. I'm happy with the response time when issues arrive and enjoy having an individual that we can reach out to directly with questions when needed. Pros Coast has dramatic improved our expense management, while also cutting down on labor hours coding receipts. Coast has made it easier for our employees to upload receipts on the go, instead of waiting until the end of the week and fumbling through paperwork. There is a slight learning curve, as with any new software, but if you dedicate the time to implementing the software correctly, the benefit on the back end will truly pay off. Cons We had a rough onboarding with some of the individuals (not all) that were assigned to our account, it felt with certain features that were new, employees were not prepared to explain how these work or even aware of how to use them. As Coast continues to grow and roll out new features, it does feel unfortunate to have to be subject to those as they are improved, for example the new AI reader sent false notifications that receipts were incorrectly matched to an expense when trying to read receipts. I wish some of these features could be trial run prior to implementation or only released to accounts that agree to this. Personally, it is not a huge deal to me, but I know our guys in the field have limited patience with any new technology so I fear in situations like this the app will "lose their trust" and they won't use it as much.
