The platform delivers what we asked of it : a reliable group footprint, an SBTi compatible reduction plan, and reporting outputs feeding our annual sustainability report. Time-to-value was around one full reporting cycle. To be blunt : no platform on the market is perfect for groups our size, but Greenly is the most credible option we evaluated and the pace of improvement we've seen since the rebrand has been impressive. Pros Carbon accounting is solid and the documentation holds up when challenged, that was our baseline for vendor selection. The unexpected part was how useful the platform turned out to be for internal communication : dashboards clean enough to drop straight into committee meetings, and the export-to-deck saves us hours every quarter. Team clearly gets how large companies actually work. Cons On the more complex multi entity rollups we sometimes have to wait for a feature release to hit our exact edge case. Year one was about getting the corporate footprint to a quality that would survive an audit; year two we scaled up supplier engagement properly. Both landed on schedule and our SBTi-aligned trajectory was presented to the board entirely from Greenly data, no manual rework, which had been my fear going in. We have a Slack channel with our account team and questions come back in hours. Our procurement folks now embed climate criteria directly into supplier reviews, which would have been wishful thinking three years ago. It's the combination of the platform plus the people that makes this actually work. The platform alone wouldn't get us there. Pros Real difference on our Scope 3 work? The team that came in with us. They had a real point of view on supplier engagement, pushed back when we tried to cut corners on emission factors, and actually treated procurement people as partners, not as a data extraction exercise. We've got several thousand Tier 1 suppliers and the engagement workflows handled segmentation, campaigns, data quality scoring without us building anything custom on top. Same platform also covers our corporate footprint so we no longer have two disconnected places to look. The platform makes the physical-based vs spend-based distinction explicit, which matters because we're migrating off monetary factors wherever we have actual activity data. Strong internal verification was necessary, as several mistakes could have slipped into our GHG inventory. Something we had not anticipated. At times, it felt as though the team lacked either the experience or the bandwidth needed to deliver fully reliable outputs. That said, Greenly can be a workable solution if you are just beginning with GHG accounting and are prepared to dedicate significant internal time to reviewing data, validating results, and managing the process closely. However, if you expect a more streamlined experience or have limited resources to spend on verification, it may not be the right fit at this stage. The support team remained dedicated throughout, and the product has potential. Pros The customer support team was consistently professional, friendly, and responsive. They always made an effort to accommodate our requests and provided guidance with a positive attitude. While we did not require extensive customization of the software, they adapted well to the complex structure of our company. The platform is user friendly, nice to use and well made for most of it. Cons We encountered several instances where rework or additional verification was needed due to errors, some related to the platform itself, others to data transfer from Excel, and occasionally human mistakes. The platform evolves very quickly, which can be a strength, but in our case it often happened without sufficient notice and sometimes introduced unstable features. At times the platform was even unavailable, though it seems this issue has since been resolved. Data management could also be improved.
