Controller Consumer Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "FloQast: Excellent for Close Management" October 4, 2022 4.0 FloQast's team was great with implementation, working and continuing to support our team through operational improvements to the system, and assisting us in understanding the system. The system is easy to use and set-up, with not too many complexities, but enough robustness to shine where needed: The month-end close. Pros FloQast shines with assisting accounting teams with close management, by creating a centralized location for all close activities and management, regardless of what accounting system used for recording accounting transactional data. FloQast assists with checklists, flux analysis, and most important, reconciliations, to keep your balance sheet and income statement clean and to streamline an efficient, accurate, and reliable close. From functionality to assist with reconciliations from its reconciliation tool, and being able to streamline and manage accounting tasks, to improving the time to close, FloQast is one of the leaders in the market, and should be looked at by small to large, private and public companies alike. Cons FloQast does well where it focuses its attention: reconciliation, close management, checklist management, process reviews and approvals, flux analysis, and ensuring a close is done well. If you are looking for an FP&A tool for budgeting, or a financial reporting tool for financial statement preparation, this is not the tool. But where it sits, it sits very well, and meets a current market gap in many accounting systems. I have been working with FloQast for 3 years and each year they continue improving the product and adding new very relevant features. The team is incredible to work with and very customer service oriented. Pros I love that FloQast has the ability to consolidate accounting functions into one centralized location. I enjoy the fact that all the accounting documentation can be accessible within the FloQast system, and it is linked directly into our SOX compliance module. Cons I would like to see more in-app linking between the modules and consistency between the features in each module. Reason for choosing FloQast AuditBoard is expensive and any additional value it brings does not meet the cost of the product. December 12, 2023 5.0 Pros Implementation was a breeze - we had just rolled off of a large ERP implementation the year before and we were expecting more of the same with FloQast - but we were up and running in less than two weeks. And better yet, the team was using the system prior to the FloQast-led training session - it is that easy to use and that intuitive! Since the initial go-live, which involved the Accounting team only and focused on the monthly GL close and reconciliation process, we have rolled out to the financial reporting team, FP&A, and Payroll, each of whom has been very satisfied with the efficiency and control they have gained around their processes. But I think the main benefit has been the rollout of the system to our external auditors. We have transitioned the quarterly PBC list from their proprietary system into FloQast, and given them access to all of our financial reporting and monthly close checklist tasks and reconciliation reports. The auditors can pull the data that they need without assistance from the accounting or financial reporting teams, saving both us and them significant time during the audit. The number of conversations and emails has fallen off of a cliff and we are now on top of audit requests - often completing well in advance of the due date! Cons My only negative for FloQast would be in the Flux Reporting module, and specifically the flux report layout process. It is still a bit more difficult to make modifications to the reports, especially if your flux reporting is done at the financial statement line item level. However, based on past experience, I am sure that changes to this process are on the FloQast roadmap since many of the improvements that I've seen in the system over the past three years are the direct result of customer comments/suggestions! October 13, 2022 5.0 FloQast has assisted our team in providing structure and efficiency to utility management, month-end close and financial reporting procedures. We also use FloQast for Flux Analysis to quickly identify areas that need attention in our organization. Our team repeatedly mentions how we wish every vendor we use were as excellent as FloQast. Pros Our team has been blown away by the customer service experience delivered by FloQast. The FloQast team members have been exceptional through every stage of the process - sales, implementation, and official launch. It is apparent upon first using the system that FloQast was designed by accountants for accountants. FloQast clearly illustrates bottlenecks and inefficiencies through month-end analytics allowing management to address staffing needs and cross-training. Our implementation team provided reconciliation templates and tools that helped us automate our close process. Every month our close process gets better and better through our use of FloQast. FloQast provides structure, efficiency, and insight into month-end close procedures. The FloQast team also encouraged us to identify other areas/processes we could use the system to improve. On their recommendation, we added additional workflows for functions such as utility management and financial reporting; it has been incredibly beneficial to use FloQast to enhance our entire Finance Department. All questions we ask have been answered timely and have been thoroughly researched. The FloQast team provides results! If there is a feature FloQast currently doesn't offer, they will actively work to implement this in the future. FloQast team members are knowledgable, considerate, and genuinely care about the success of the companies that use their products. Cons There is nothing we dislike about FloQast. Alternatives considered [Caseware](https://www.capterra.com/p/129838/IDEA/) Reason for choosing FloQast We chose FloQast because of their excellent customer service and because FloQast syncs directly to Sage Intacct, our accounting software. Caseware did not sync to Sage Intacct, so we would have to import trial balances daily throughout the month-end close process. Cons Minor items - daily occurrence tasks are not available, and inability to archive flux analysis that no longer apply without losing the history. It gets all team members working together to complete tasks that have been assigned. Pros FloQast is very easy to navigate. The search selections help to narrow it down to specific companies that I may be focused on at the moment. We have the capabilities of having simple checklist items or reconciliations that need to be added. Cons I sometimes think that items show up after I have checked all of my items of. It is possible that I did not have the correct entity selected. I prefer that the Entity or "all entities" stays the same once I have made the selection. I would be able to select all entities and my items and leave it alone. Again, my opinion comes from a staff accountant level, so perhaps our CFO and/or controller have some negative experiences or certain parts they find bothersome. It's intuitive and provides great visibility from tasks to reconciliations as well as workflows outside the close. The exceptional support and responsiveness of the FQ team made the implementation process easier than expected. Pros FloQast is easy to use and helps us to stay on track with the close process. It improves communication by providing visibility to everyone on where we are with the process. We can attach files to each task and reconciliation, making the review process easier and consolidating our files in one location. Cons Nothing negative. Implementation process is fairly easy, with detail spreadsheets you can upload to the system, as well as very helpful staff across the board! Pros It makes keeping track of what you need to do and what your team needs to do so easy. Centralized tracking, documentation, etc is invaluable! We've also been using Floqast more and more to help us automate some of our more manual processes and it's been an excellent transition. I've been at other companies that have not adopted a central close platform and it makes a huge difference in knowing the status of close and who/what needs most attention to push close to the finish line. The Floqast team is always responsive and open to critique and you can tell they really adore their product and care about making it better by constantly producing value added features for its end user. Pros Floqast allows your whole month end process to be viewed within one easy to use website that syncs with the some of the biggest ERP systems. We can get real time updates with a click of a button which allows us to be in the know when it matters most. Long gone are the days of emailing for approvals and forcing even more items into your work inbox. Floqast can easily communicate in Slack and other communication apps to alert you immediately of items needing your attention. The auto rec recon functionality also carries the ability to replace cumbersome excel recons. Overall it's a fantastic, affordable, and cutting edge product that I would recommend to any size accounting/finance team. Cons Floqast is still in the improvement stage of some of their features which are a bit more time consuming then they could be. The uploading of account recons require you to go into folders, remember which folder your rec is in, and scroll to upload. This could be improved by just allowing a recon to attach directly on the recon tab of Floqast. Another area that could be improved is auto rec sync with ERP systems because it picks up any new additions in your GL but will not remove any items you may have removed/reclassed out of that specific GL account. With numerous hands in one account, this causes some headaches not knowing when items are removed and remain unmatched in the recon. Review Source SL Scott L. Maybe adding a feature where it better notifies you about upcoming assignments that are due? Although this isn't a problem for me anymore, it could be helpful for new users. March 16, 2021 5.0 We've really cleaned up our books, quickened our close, and kept cleaner records now that we have an easy way to roll documents along from month to month. We used to use a shared Excel checklist to keep our organization streamlined during the month-end close process, and now we have this great and handy tool to check off in a much easier way. It used to take our boss an hour or more to get all of our end-balances in a list to start the Reconciliation process, and that's an hour of her time back that she now has due to the roll-forward features of FloQast. Pros I like the Reconciliation and Checklist functions the best, which is essentially the entire platform, so overall, this system works great and is incredibly helpful for our month-end processes. Their support team is excellent in responding to questions and concerns, and for once, a company actually has a useful "FAQ" section. Cons Nothing, I would seriously recommend this to any accounting team. Maybe the only thing that bugs me is the speediness of the Refresh button, but that's very minor in the grand scheme of things. Plus, they have been very responsive in any suggestions or critiques we have of small feature improvements, and many of them have already been fixed in the few months our team has been using this software. They are accountants that speak the same language and the really go above and beyond to answer questions and provide support. Pros The element I like most about FloQast is the visibility it provides to a manager or controller in the status of multiple entities in a consolidated close process. It links to the accounting system and general ledger and allows review, all in place. I was part of the implementation of FloQast and it was easy and intuitive to use. By using software tags, the utility is unlimited. I have worked in accounting for many years, attempting to link data from multiple systems. I can say that FloQast does honestly does this. September 12, 2017 5.0 Pros As the person who reviews most of the Balance Sheet accounts in my organization, I am very satisfied with this product. With daily uploads of the updated trial balance, FloQast lets me know at a glance, which accounts are out of balance. I am able to write comments, ask specific questions to the accountant in charge of reconciling the account directly within the software application. It is practical and user friendly. All of our reconciliations, support schedules and documents are located in one place. It is easily accessible to our accountants and managers, thus greatly improving our month and year-end processing. The FloQast support service is outstanding. They are very knowledgeable and always friendly and professional. Cons They are virtually nonexistent. This is not a stagnant program. With the willingness to take customer feedback seriously and apply new technology, I am certain FloQast will be continuously improving.
